Aren't these all so fascinating! This is turning out to be one of my favorite threads.

Thanks everyone for keeping this going!

My first email from Juno somewhere near 18 years ago, I tried mudman , it was already taken, Juno suggested "mudmanc4" , and Iv'e been using it ever since. Go figure.

Yeah, but why did you try "mudman" in the first place?

I used to go by NightLord, the last name of my very first Dungeons and Dragons character... a LONG time ago. Anyhow, the problem was that it was taken on some of the forums I go to and I wanted to start using the same forum handle everywhere. I switched to McCordRM.

As for my Avatar... well, I'm a wolf freak. Love'em. I bought that image a long time ago and tend to use it everywhere I can. And you should see my collection of wolf shirts. :)

Back when I used to chat a bit I would originally come up with some real strange names (most of which I wouldn't type here). But then I got into a phase of using little known words that I liked the sound(not the meaning) of. This one just kind of stuck. And although I do like it just for the sound of the word this one also does give me a bit of amusement when seeing peoples reactions when they find out what it means.

Thy·es·te·an (thī-ěs'tē-ən, thī'ĭ-stē'ən)
adj. Involving the eating of human flesh; cannibalistic: a Thyestean feast.

stemming from

Thy⋅es⋅tes [thahy-es-teez]
–noun Classical Mythology.
the brother of Atreus who unknowingly ate the flesh of his own sons when served to him by Atreus.

(I also use Schadenfreude at times ;) )

Hmm... Well, I live in Antioch, CA and about 6-7 years ago I joined the site D-Addicts (an Asian Drama site) and just shortened my city name to aNToK (not sure why the caps aren't in my name here). Mostly because I couldn't think of anything better and it kind of sounded like some kind of anime name. After I got pretty well-known in the Drama community, I started getting all these messages in Tagalog. Found out later on that antok means sleepy to my Filipino friends. They were a bit surprised that I'm Irish/Native America, but such is life. I've been aNToK on pretty much every board and web site since, so if you see the name floating around, odds are good that it's me!!!

Strangely, even after all these years online, I have yet to use an avatar anywhere. Always keep them guessing....

I'll play!
Well, my screen name is what I have used for everything for too many years to remember.
Luv is my nickname... I have had a few but this is the one that always stuck- I spell it Luv, 1- so people can tell it's my name and not the word, 2- it is shorter than the word so no issues when I can only use so many letters... No, it has been spelled "Luv" ever since I can remember... 3- It comes from a "friend" I had- he actually had a habit of using terms of endearment for all females but this was mine- everyone started calling me Luv after hearing it... My husband even calls me this- err well, he used to- 19 years married now... LOL j/k
2- C- U (to see you) - written in "Prince" - LOL
Smile... I do love to see people smile and no matter what forum I have belonged to (mostly craft forums) I am the one who keeps peoples spirits high...
My avatar... Prince! I do have Mickey & Tink in my foray of pictures also but I am a huge Prince fan- have always been- & yeah- my husband knows- he likes him too... We have a huge Prince collection! When I was younger I used to write like him... as in using symbols and letters/numbers -

This is a fun post! Can't believe I hadn't seen it until now-

Ok, TMI ;)
316lvm is Medical Grade Stainless Steel that is used in bone pins, suture wires, body modification jewelry.

I am a jewelry designer and creator.

My avatar is the Bat from the Rorschach Test. I chose this because I'm a "retired" mental health social worker (25+ years within the system) in the Child/Adolescent that dealt with Level 1 mentally ill kids. Level 1 kids were the severist cases - residential treatment centers, locked down units, hospitals, juvenille detention. These were kids who had already murdered, been assaulted, drugs etc. Later, I supervised a clinic in the adult system, again Level 1 - pedophiles, stalkers, murderes mass/serial, pyromaniacs, dual diagnosed.

I say "retired" because after 25+ years, I was diagnosed with Bi-Polar disorder the most severe form - chronic and pervasive and became disabled. I have had to relearn a lot of things, some as basic as math and writing.

I now have gone from surviving to living and loving it.

Ok, TMI :D
