Just to clarify...I was just explaining what SL was talking about...it wasnt my idea to go diagonal...I just understood the concept.

Back when I was using SS in CE2's...I had a wick like a scroll that was split after it came out of the coil...and it was bent and kinked by the time I stuffed it in the cup and tube...it was a hell of a mess...but it wicked fine still.

I don't use wire inside of mine while bending it....last time I tried I couldn't get the wire out....

I just take my time and roll, and bend.....then unkink ....until I get it. Get it close, and the heat from torching will do some of the work for you.

bending with a wire just minimizes some risk of kinking, kind of like a plumber using ice or sand inside to bend pipe.

hi, just got my scubagen today. I rolled my first wick, wrapped the coil, and it works! well... sorta. it seems to be wicking ok, but i am getting PIDLY vapor, but good flavor and way too much TH. when i dry fired the coil, only like the first wrap or two was glowing. what did i do wrong?

Poor TH and very little vapor is an airflow issue...

Put a small hole in the top cap even or just below the coil height....you will be good to go. :)

Just don't go too big...no more than 1mm...I use a 1/32" bit (just under a mm) from a dremel drill bit set.

Ok so I was bored tonight :) hehehehehe

Here is a G-tank-US top cover and the 3ml tank next to it, remember we will loose about a 1/2ml to the o-ring seat. But at 3/4 it does not look that big :)
The syringe is roughly the same dia as the current G-tank cover slightly smaller.

Doing both is even better...
Both cutting diagonally on the grain of the SS mesh and cutting an arc as I described earlier. If the J cut is used one can save addtional material by shortening the wick and moving the cut of the arc more towards the end that will be used as the J aprt of the wick. I am not arguing against anyones ideas here. Just trying to use all the good suggestions made to get the best production out of the SS mesh. I cut the wick diagonally, I use the J and I cut the mesh before makking it so that the curved part of the wick has a bit less material to deal with when curving it. If you don't want to try it... Fine. If you try it and don't like it... Fine. I am just saying it has worked great for me.
