I'm building a couple of the SGs from the other co-op for a couple of friends......one question...

Anyone know what the little dowl pin is for? Is that for the positive post instead of the CE2 tube??

It's for pressing into the SGV3 body so that you have a material that you can solder the negative post to as SS will not take solder.

Is there a trick to these o-rings? Seems pretty impossible to slide the tubing over them.

I feel your pain.
As stated you do need to bevel the inside edge of the tube. What I have been doing, because I am too lazy to run back to the hardware store, is to cut the O-ring open and remove a small amount of it. Then you can put it on the SGV3 like a rope gasket. If you don't remove too much and stretch it around good the pressure from the tube will seal the cut ends together and the act of stretching the material will make it narrower allowing the tube to slide on better. Also as stated lubing the O-rings makes a huge difference.

If you don't get the ends stretched back together it will leak on you so take care if you do this. It has been working great for me and I only had one leak from not paying attention during assembly.

Wow just got done reading most of the posts on this thread. The innovation, evolution, and teamwork of (on) ideas is outstanding and amazing. Just received a different repairable and hope to use some of my new found knowledge on it. THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR POSTING. Any word on the two co-ops yet (g-tank-us and dsuv6)?

Had a call early this week on the DSUv6, they are still running the numbers, so still waiting. The G-Tank-US I have ordere 0-80 screws and inserts to test my theory using SS. Also ordered some 5/8 32tpi taps and dies so I can atleast make a prototype. Yes I cut the threads with the lathe but I like to finish them with a tap and die. :)
Will know more soon.

He always ignores you on this, can't imagine why?

You say ignore I say lock it away for future use :)
Hmmm I do have a couple prototypes I am not using collecting dust ... cough cough.
But as soon as I say yes then I am swamped with offers LOL
I was actually considering posting the orphans in the classified cheap. So that way I am not playing favorites :)

If you do decide to put up a couple of prototypes... "Cheap" Any chance of a 24 hour pre-notice to the Scubagen thread... Man... Now that would be fun to watch! LOL
