angelcigs has it for $26.99 plus a "5%downforyou" code makes it $25.64
ships from us warehouse.

I waited nearly 3 weeks for my "in stock" at the "US Warehouse" Serpent to show up from Angelcigs. Not coincidentally, it will be my last order from Angel Cigs. I've had more problems then good experiences with them at this point. An order from China would have shown up sooner.

On a positive note, it finally arrived today, and I'm fairly pleased with it. A bit of pain to mount the coil, but not to much trouble with the leads cut short.

A quick question for those of you that have been playing with it for awhile: What coil ID's are you using? I've put one build in it, and it was at 3mm ID. I'm thinking it may be to big, as the vape is a bit harsher then I'd expect. Perhaps a smaller ID over that big air hole would tame it a bit.

3mm is perfect IMHO. Just place it low as you can over that big air hole.

Could somebody please measure the length of the tank section? I'm curious whether standard Kayfun or Taifun tanks would fit. Thanks.
WestPole, I do not have an accurate way to measure so I eyeballed a Kfun tank that I have from a couple of years ago. It looks like a very close match in height (I would say exact, but then you would hold me to it.LOL). The base of the Serpent threaded onto it perfectly. No way to check the top because you would have to destroy the JFC section of the Serpent in order to get the top off.

VaPreis, I am winding my Clapton at 3mm, 4 wraps spaced, and I like the vape from that set up. I am not finding it harsh at all. 0.6 @ 30-40 watts. The coil fits fine. The Clapton wire tends to "expand" after I wind it to 3.2mm, I'm guessing. Maybe not that much, but slightly. I tried 316L SS, 26ga. 10 wraps for a 0.68...this thing ramps up so fast even at 25 watts in Power Mode, actually needs to be on TC for a decent vape with with this setup IMO.

Mine still OTW from the seller, should be here by noon tommorow.
Is it perform well with regular nichrome80 3mm contact coil build? Coz i love that simple build, i ussually always throw a new build every morning, dont wanna have terible vapes in middle of my day, it will upset me.
How is it perform for MTL vapers? I do direct lung with my velocity and sapor rda, but i love the MTL style for my tanks, thats why i love my kayfun 4 (it's just a clone though) ,have 2 of them.
Just wondering how he insert the airflow reducer, and how to make it?(see on the previous post, forgot which page tho, sorry)
The way he desrcibed how he made it, sounds difficult, is there any easier method?
Bcause im not good with hand craft.
Plan to make one using ss, just dont know how to start...

Sorry for the long exhausting question, thx b4.

I cannot tell you about nichrome80. Don't have any, but if it works on your Kfun, it will work on this.

You can shut the airflow control down for a MTL, or if you look at page 7 of this thread Moonfaced says:
Insulator off a nautilus coil is also a perfect fit;)
Looks like you can insert an insulator or gasket from a nautilus remade coil in. Not sure how it will hold up under the heat since it is directly under the coil. I would first try shutting the AFC down to lower the airflow...that is what it's there for.
I sure can't custom build an air flow reducer. I would have to find something already made to put in there. I just don't have the tools.

i also read that you used SS wire?
is it 316L SS wire?
do you make it spaced or contact coil?
just wonder if it's ok to pulse your SS wire?

Yes, it is 316L. I use a contact coil. I pulse it lightly just to get any hot spots out...you can see the hot spots quickly, then squeeze with tweezers, check one more time. I usually pulse it on a very low wattage. For a 0.6 ohm coil, I turn the wattage down to 16-17 watts so it does not heat too quick. If it is too high a watt, it heats VERY quickly and may pop the coil at one of the hot spots. Be gentle until you have it situated correctly. Then remember that SS ramps up very quick when vaping. Start at lower watts than Kanthal and work your way up to the desired heat for your juice. Just my experience.

With SS 316L you will need to really add a few more wraps to your coil compared to Kanthal because the resistance is quite a bit less with SS. Not sure how it compares to your Nichrome80 though. You can go to the Steam Engine website and calculate how many wraps to get your desired coil resistance. I am using the SS 316L in 26 gauge.

Threw a build in last night - 25 awg NiFe52, 2.6 mm, 7 wraps spaced, with rayon, came out to .21 Ω. So far, very impressed with the tank... compared to the aromamizer, I didn't expect it to fully match the flavor level being single coil vs dual coil, and while it doesn't quite make it, it's really close and the vapor production/density is extremely close as well. I primarily got this to be a 'running errands around town' tank for a VTC mini I just picked up and it's an absolutely perfect fit.
