I haven't tried the single coil deck in my Cthulhu v2, I figure one Kanger Subtank will do me. It is a real performer with the dual coil deck btw.

How does the Serpent compare to the subtank mini in terms of flavor? I've vaped a lot of tanks and I still think the little old subtank is the best there is.

I'd say it's comparable but the Serpent going to be able to deliver twice the hit. Hope that makes some kind of sense. Maybe not twice but a lot more.
I can only get my ST v2 head to around 35 watts. That's using 26 gauge Ti wire and EScribe and limiting it to 450F

I'm using the Serpent with a clapton, and switching back and forth all day between it and an Aqua 2 with a 0.7 dual coil in it. They are dramatically different, but that is what I want....choice of atty with different juices. I also throw my MT in there with dual Claptons on it just for a jolt!

I'm going on the 4th day of using my Serpent almost exclusively, Taifun GS2-22 clone is my atomizer of choice. I'll probably go back to using them sometime today and try to compare them. So far I'm very pleased with my Serpent.

I get about 15-20 watts out of my STM with 7 wrap 26 ga Ti wire at 450F.

I've tried many different RTA 's but always went back to the STM's. Not any more! I'm so taken with the serpent I'm selling off all my STM's and replacing them with serpents. This tank has blown everything else out of the water IMHO flavor, vapor production, build quality and top fill and most of all airflow.

How is the flavor compared to the Mutation RTA? I have an MT and am wondering if I can go with a Serpent as a single coil alternative when I don't want to blow through juice as quickly.

Jeremy, I have both the MT and the Serpent. I like the Serpent more, but it is probably due to my love of single coil RTAs. There is plenty of airflow on the "Snake". I usually run the airflow almost half closed and still get a nice lung hit. The filling is quite easy. Just close JFC and fill it up. The flavor is as good as the MT depending on how you coil it. I run a single Clapton (26/32) with a 3.2mm ID at about 0.56 ohm. 35-40 watts. Could go higher for sure on the wattage. I switch back and forth with the MT and Snake all day long. If I go out, it is the Serpent I take with me. The vapor production is excellent. Quite a performer.

Jeremy.....I have 2 MT's and my 3rd Serpent just arrived. The Serpent will surprise you! The flavor and vapor production is on par with the MT. As with any rebuildable, everything depends on your build. I mainly bought the Serpent to replace my STM's and it has far surpassed that. Even with a .5 ohm build at 35 watts on my old Vapershark 40's, the Serpent rocks! I gettig ready to put a big fat Clapton on the one that just came and put some power to it!! Oh yeah, I only have to wrap one coil. lol

Like many others on this thread, I find the Serpent much more than a "suitable alternative".

DP2....the American Spirit will be done "cooking" in a couple hours. You'll prob be getting more PM's. lol

Hey Sam! Great on the American Spirit!! You will love it.
I do 5 wraps with that Clapton. I start with a 3mm ID, but they kind of expand to about 3.2 (guesstamation) I have dual Claptons on the MT.
Just put some SS on my Tilemahos...rocks! Put it on my 200w SnowWolf and it automatically went to TC mode. Vapes great. I also put it in Power mode on my Sigelei and it works great on that too.
Gonna try that on the Serpent and see what cooks up! But the Clapton is ideal for the Serpent.

Just put a SS coil on. 26ga 316L. 10 wraps contact coil. 3mm came to 0.73 ohm. Nice smooth vape. Plenty of vapor production 25 watts. Have not tried higher wattage yet. But I will. Prob not as flavorful as the clapton coil, but I was closer to 40 watts with the clapton.

Another satisfied customer! Yeah this thing is the best single coil out there right now IMO. Even competes with the dual setups that I have. The ease and build space is excellent. And access to the deck with a tank full of juice is fantastic. Change out the coil in a snap and try a different setup with no loss of juice.

How is everyone cleaning their tank? Are the fill ports at the top larger enough to stick a q-tip in?

I've been on the fence about this tank mainly because it can't be completely disassembled.
Bts, I do believe you can get a Q-tip down the fill ports. I just rinse it out and shake it dry. I also have some very small brushes I got on FT that are similar to a pipe cleaner with a handle...they have some very small sizes I use to clean coils and they fit in there nicely.
