You'll be pleased for being in Hawaii shipping is incredibly fast. I usually receive my stuff within 3 days and that's to Florida.

Hope theres not too much of a difference between first class and priority lol. I opted for the cheaper of the two even though it was only a few days. I feel like I should be patience plus work will hopefully keep me busy for the next week as long as the rain doesn't stop that and leave me sitting at home, I guess time to mix juice for when this thing gets into my mail box. :thumb:

I'm still loving this tank. Loved it even more when I built my own coil for it - that 'comp coil' included with the unit was kinda lame. Also, that 'turn it upside down to burp it' thing doesn't work if you fill the tank up all the way. It just pours juice all over the place. What seems to work for me is this:
1. Close the juice flow.
2. Remove the top and fill ETA: then replace the top
3. Open the juice flow *just a little* and start vaping.
4. As the flooding subsides, open the juice control a little more and a little more as you vape, until it's at the desired level. No leaking, and the gurgle stops after a few pulls.

Silly question but,
After step 2. You screw the top back on first, then go to step 3. Right?

seeing as so many people are having trouble with wicking and leaking, etc. I wonder if you can really say it's a 'good' rta. Like, take away the great airflow and this thing is just user unfriendly as hell
I've only built one of the two I bought, but with this first one, I've not had even the slightest bit of leaking or moisture out of the AFC. I have had a drop or two of juice out of the chimney when trying to burp it after a top fill. The first time it caught me off guard, but since then I just turn it upside down over the trash bin and it's not been a big deal... definitely not pouring out or anything and vapes fine after turning it back up. For the most part, it's kept right side up, but I've randomly found myself holding it sideways for several minutes at a time and it's not leaked a drop.

I originally had the coil ~2 mm above the air hole and posted it wasn't quite as flavorful as the aromamizer. I moved it closer by about 1 mm and while I can still tell it's not the 'mizer, it's better than it was. Still enjoying it very much.

Most tank systems are finicky and require a little trial and error to get working just right. I've had far fewer hassles with the Serpent than I did with the Kayfun V4. I haven't had any issues with wicking or leaking at all. A little flooding after a fill, but that's hardly a deal breaker.
The Serpent isn't a 'good' RTA. It's a *great* RTA.

Built a spaced 3.2mm coil out of twisted wire using 4 strands of 28g Kanthal. Came out to 0.43ohm.

Wicked it with Rayon...took some time to think how to wick it.

Filled the tank with juice and started Vaping. No leaks, no dry hits. Chain vaping at 45watts.

Edit.
Juice control is fully opened.
One thing I don't like about this tank, you can't see or adjust the wick once the chimney is on.

Well, I've got one built, but I'm not sure what I think of it yet. Its being perfectly behaved so no complaints about floods or machining quality, or anything like that. It top filled perfectly.

I'm just not getting the flavor I expected (yet).

I did have one goof with coiling. A right handed coil will align much better to the wick channels. So I had to pull my first coil, and wrap another in the opposite direction, and then coiling went easy.

Wicking was simple.

Filling was great.

But I keep cranking up the power and its a very cool vape. I'm running a 3mm 6 wrap 28/32 clapton at 1.36ohm. I'm at 25W now and its still pretty cool even though it ramps up fast. I've gone with a smaller drip tip and even closed the afc some.

Maybe the wicking is off.

What has worked great for me is a "pancake" style of wicking mentioned earlier in this thread.

I wick the cotton tight through the coil. Then cut the tails right at the edge of the build deck. Fluff the ends until they're fanned out (I do this by blowing on them). Finally, I put a couple drops of liquid on the top of each "pancake" only, then install it into the tank and let the rest settle where it wants to.

I've done this 3 times now, and it's worked beautifully.

My coil is much simpler then yours, and the flavor is still great.
