Damn I was so angry on this tank when I got it. I changed a Griffin for it cause I didn't like the liquid consumption. I installed one of the coils the Serpent comes with and was OK for like first 50 puffs. After that I was getting dry hits every 5-10 puffs when chain vaping. Today I went at a store and ask the guy to install a triple twisted coil wich came at .55. All good, got home and again, any puff longer then 4 seconds I was getting dry hits. I made another coil just 20 minutes ago and I haven't got any dry hits. Here are some pictures with this one. Hope will stay like this. Do you guys have any advices on how I can improve the wicking?

Suggestion....Push the cotton OUT of the channel and up onto the deck. Might have to snip a tad from the area you having going down into the channel. OK for a little to hang at the TOP of the channel but it doesn't wick well when that channel is blocked in my experience.

x4--- NO cotton down the channel. There are some good pics earlier in this thread. I've never had a dry hit on the Serpent. Clapton coil, 3mm ID, 0.5 ohm, 25-30 watts. Rich, moist, flavorful vape.
Hey, what's the deal, copying my setup. Virtually the same as what I run. :)

I did the "haircut" you guys told me, now I can take 2 hits over 5 seconds one after another with less dry hits for sure. Went up to 26W. I'm still afraid to go higher. I still think I have to change the cotton. I'm using the one they provided. Sadly I can't find any rayon in my country, but I have some fiber freaks left. Thank for the advice. I quit using my cubis about 2 hours ago :)

Okay guys.. i take back my advice on how to not get any leaks lol. Especially now that i went to a 60/40 vg to pg blend it seems no matter how closed i think the JFC is, it will still randomly leak. I'm also now worried that me trying to get it closed even more is just going to eventually strip the JFC. so i just deal with the leaking with a piece of paper towels shoved into one of the cyclops air flow holes and blow on the other one while it's tiltled till all the leaked juice is out. Just something that has to be done, like how most tanks have little quirks you have to work around and find fixes for. Maybe i'll go back to the o-ring now that i;m using a less VG based juice.

As of now i have a 3.5 mm ID clapton in this 3/4 wraps i think? buit it's coming out to 0.70 ohms. Everyonce ina while i will get a "POP" sound while taking a vape. Not the normal rice krispies sound lol but a loud "POP" I probably didn't put enough cotton in the wicking. I tried going for a higher ohm build the other day using a 2.5 mm clapton 7 wraps, was around 1.00 ohm. Thinking it would help conserve juice and battery life, but i still needed to crank the wattages up and it still guzzled juice like crazy lol.

Should i give a TC build a shot in this? i used TC with my lemo 2 and liked the results, but i was using nickel, and to tell you the truth i didn't notice that much of a difference on battery life/juice consumption when i did.

My experiences tell me so far that the best claptons build for me on here is 2.5 mm ID at around 0.50-0.60 ohms. The spaced clapton i had on it a few days ago was working so good! why did i have to decide to try and mess with it. lol I went through so many clapton coils the past few days, when i should have just been dry burning that one and still been usuing it lol.

How about you guys? whats your go to build on this thing?

P.S. yea DP2raja! my mistake about the RX200 not having the spring loaded 510! thought i read somewhere people were having problems with it, might have been the cuboid. Thanks for the clarification!

ALSO i'm really liking the look of the wotofo conqueror! Just wish it was single coil. and had knurling on the JFC :(

Same here dpsb. Notice sometimes when after a fill my JFC just seems to get stuck and i can't open it back up without re-loosening the base, and then even then it feels like i really have to apply some pressure to get it back loose. I hope it holds up. But it definetely has a "crunchy" feel to it when adjusting. But like i said i think it may have to do with some wicking catching on the threads. cause no matter how on the deck and out of the wicking chanels i keep the wick , when i take the build apart the wicking defientely shows signs that it's come off the base and has been moving aroudn when adjusting the JFC. But If i i have no liquid in it and twist the JFC moves smooth, so having juice in it and wicking, plus the vacumn seal when it's closed up probably all play a factor in how smooth it tightens/loosens ?

I'm kinda surprised that many of the more famous youtube reviewers haven't made a follow up on how the serpent is doing. cause everyone of them i have watched have said they had no probldems with leaking after after using it for days/weeks. But many lesser known video reviewers bring up the leaking! are you telling me that the famous reviewers have all gotten perfect serpents, with no leaking problems who have had the serpents sent to them by wotofo? but the reviewers who went out and bought them are the only ones having the leaking issues ?

Thanks for the reply major! Yea , when i was using the 0-ring i also experienced zero leaking. But i was using max VG at the time, and the O-ring seemed to limit my juice flow to the wicking to the point i was getting dry hits. Used a couple different diameter rings too and still had the problem. Also will the juice , or normal threading down on the O-ring eventually cause it to fall apart and leech into the juice? thats another one of my concerns. Hows your O-ring holding up> Do you just take a look at it every few cleaning sessions and make sure it's not degrading in any way? Thanks again!

Maybe a 3.5 mm clapton build is too large and causing shortage which sounds like popping. Also 3.5mm and not enough cotton could cause leakage. Why not try a 3mm build with sufficient cotton and see if it helps?
