LOL know soemthing? I think this is the first tank i ever purchased where the premade twisted coils that came with it have been better then almost all the other coils i put in it. I been on a clapton coil kick ( right now rocking a 9 wrap clapton 2.0 mm ID) just to experiment. Wanted a higher resistance for a change to try and conserve some juice and battery life ( even though i have a dual 18650 mod) ohms out to 0.94 and ramp up time isn't that bad, granted i crank the watts. But i'm still charging my dual batteries once a day, even if i running lower wattages 25 watts-35 watts)

KInda kicking myself cause i had a nice clapton wrapped around a 2.5 mm bit and i don't know if it was the wicking, but it was perfect. But of course after a few days i got the "hey lets try and make a different size one! ) I'm sure you all know how that goes.

I have so many clapton coils premade when i want on a building spree a few days ago, this way they are all ready to go when need be. All different ID's and wraps. You name it, i've probably have it wrapped already (cept for 4.0mm) What would you guys say is the best ohms/ID/wraps that the serpent loves when it comes to claptons ?

Thanks for the welcome leo :) Yea it's weird that sometimes it just stops turning and seems like it's fully closed, kinda like it's catching on the wick , which is why it probably eventually works itself free and can then be fully closed by looseining it and tightening it a few times. But it still feels like it gets caught even when i keep my wicks out of the juice channels! Like... what can it be catching on? bad threading?

Also has anyone had a problem when putting the deck back together after rewicking/coiling? should the JFC be twisted open? i noticed yesterday when trying to screw the deck base back in it wouldn't tighten all the way. Like there was a small gap. Was it catching on the JFC threads or soemthing? Once i decided it may be that i loosened the JFC and was able to fully screw the deck in. At first i thought the O-ring got caught.

I've had this happen to me several times. Closing the JC about a half turn fixes the problem, after the base is tight I then open the JC all the way open where I always have it.

Yea thats the gauges i use for my claptons :) I had a spaced 3.0mm clapton in mine a few weeks ago, 5 wraps though. Think it was around .65 ohm. With the 3.0 i noticed the ID of the coils get pretty close the deck posts though. LOL has anyone managed to fit a 4.0mm ID on of these?
Haven't tried, but I think perhaps it might be large. Perhaps some of our more experienced Serpent owners have tried?

I really love this tank. It's such a breeze to coil up and wick. Some people hate the position of the deck post holes, but i love it. I find it easier than any other RTA i have used. I do the "cut one lead close to the post hole, then jam it in with a screwdriver metod and find it so simple and neater than the "j-hook" method. Don't get me wrong, sometimes i will trim the lead too short and it wont poke through the other side, but thats only happened one or two times.

Coming from the lemo 2 this thing is just such a great vape. I mean like as soon as you throw in a new coil and wick and take that first pull, you know it's going to be that consistent until you rewick it again. Know what i mean? Like when wicking the lemo 2 it was always like, ok... it's vaping good right now, but i bet it will start feeling tight, or will start not wicking as good as these first few pulls in a couple of hours or so. I would go to sleep with the lemo 2 vaping perfectly, then wake up the next day , take a pull and it was like some vaping gremlin snuck in my house and rewicked it with a shoelace. It was just never consistent!!

Also has anyone dropped it ? I'm always super careful, but you know when you try to be extra careful with something it makes you accidentally mess up ? Like you make a sudden movement thinking it's going to fall, so you swing your arm over and accidentally knock it over lol. Mine has dropped about 3 times thus far. Never a big drop, just knocking it over while on the mod. Today i got a scare though as when i knocked it over the serpent actually hit my paper towel holder, which is made of stainless steel right on the tank, I for sure thought it hit right on the glass part of the tank, but luckily no damage or leaking, so i guess no broken glass! I still hate that feeling though right after dropping a mod/RTA. You get that impending doom feeling, or think you messed something up inside that you can't see lol.

Sorry for the long posts! had many things to talk about :)

Well guys..... I must've really jinxed myself after these posts i made. I did something stupid, so it was 100% my fault. I refilled my serpent, and while i was at it i decided the drip tip had a small gap into the refill base, like it wasn't pushed down all the way. I figured i would pop it off and lube up the drip tip O-ring with some ejuice. The problem you say? lol well i forgot about the vacumn that the base that screws down onto the refill hole which holds the drip tips and had both pieces off so i could get a better grip onto the drip tip to yank it off. All while i had my serpent filled to the brim with juice. Now here is the kicker. I HAD THE SERPENT ATTACHED ON MY MOD! I look over at it and had juice pouring out all over the top of the mod and down the sides. See thing is i have the sigelei Fuchai 200, which if anyone knows has a pretty stupid design flaw. For some reason they thought it would be a good idea to have these gaps on top of the mod by the 510. If you seen pictures you can see them. A great thing to have if you wnat juice or condensation to seep through. So since it was a ton of juice that leaked it went inside and also inside the 510 pin. I got all i could out, used Q-tips, paper towels, opened up the batter door and cleaned up any that leaked inside. Went one step further and used a blow dryer on the cool setting and held it upside down to get any juice out.

Everything is working fine, but god i'm praying the juice that i couldn't get to inisde my mod will eventually work it's way down the the circuit boards. lol can somebody reassure me that VG/PG isn't a problem? I read some posts online how it doesn't really oxidize? ( can't remember, i may be way off) cause the wires inside mods don't heat up. Think i am in the clear? should i place my mod upside down over night to see if any juice makes it way back out? Or with the highVG is it pretty much going to be stuck in any of the crevaces it's made it's way into ?

I'm usually so careful when it comes to these types of things and am kicking myself for the stupid mistake i made. Now my ocd is kicking in and i'm thinking of just buying another mod lol.

Oh dear. Poor chazz, that sux. Look .... happens and the mod may dry itself away from all juice and eventually that juice smell may go away too, but if you're really worried you have to go disassembling your mod to wipe it down. Either way a hair dryer may help too.

heh.. Thanks for the support guys. I placed the mod upside down for a while while i was charging my batteries. NO juice came out. It's working fine though so i think i'm in the clear :) I mean i've read about people dropping mods in puddles and them still working. If it breaks eventually, it breaks. I still have my first mod i could always use, an ipv mini that goes to 30 watts. Thing got pretty beat up and is over a year old but still works great. I think next i may get a triple 18650 battery for my next mod. Not yet though, cause i know if i get one soon a newer one will come out right after lol like with everything vape related. I wouldn't want the triple 18650 mod for the 200watts. I just want the longer battery life. I thought even with my dual 18650 fuchai the battery life would last days. lol i have to charge them once a day! guess i just vape wayyy too much :p hell, i got the fuchai and besides using it for temp control for the first few months i'm back to kanthal builds and most i ever vape at is around 20-45 watts max. Weird thing is in the serpent i have a 9 wrap clapton in there thats reading n.93 ohms... and it seems like no matter how much i crank the watts i don't get a dry hit! Any reason for this? yet if i have a 0.5 clapton i would get dry cotton burn hits. lol i thought it should be the other way around?

Also of note i ran out of Japanese cotton, so went back to organic cotton balls ( from walmart) and it still wicks amazing. Definetely notice a different flavor the first few pulls, but it goes away. It's like no matter what i use in this serpent it will vape perfect everytime. I kind of want to try rayon, but i think i read in this topic or some where else rayon doesn't work to well in RTA's?

Sorry about my last post being off topic from the serpent.

Yea DP! thats the exact one i was thinking about getting. I forgot the name, or i was going to say the one like rolyeux? or something, the real expensive one with the dna chip that i would never buy unless i kept it in a glass case lol. I was going to get that wisemec RX200 or the cuboid or the Fuchai at the time, cause they all came out around the same time, but went for the fuchai and regret it. Definetely should have picked up the RX200. Heard about problems with the 510 on the RX200 though and other problems with the cuboid, so maybe the fuchai was an ok idea... I have a feeling some new triple 18650's will be coming out soon. I think sigelei is making one, but the quality seems to have gone down since the 150watt one. I have the runt of the bunch lol.

So the serepent sits nice and flush with the rx200? did you need to adjust the pin on it since the RX200 510 isn't spring loaded ?

I don't have my Serpent as of yet; however, I do have an RX200 and Reuleaux DNA 200. The area where your atomiser sits is ever-so-slightly recessed so all my atomisers appear to sit flush. Whilst it's true some have complained about the firmness of the 510 pin, even to the point of it breaking, I have not had any issues with mine.

The fact that the RX200 comes with "that" Joyetech chip and it's so darn cheap makes it a good mod in itself. Throw in 3 batteries and it's form factor and you've got a nice compact mod.

The Serpent should sit flush on the RX200 since mine does.

Damn I was so angry on this tank when I got it. I changed a Griffin for it cause I didn't like the liquid consumption. I installed one of the coils the Serpent comes with and was OK for like first 50 puffs. After that I was getting dry hits every 5-10 puffs when chain vaping. Today I went at a store and ask the guy to install a triple twisted coil wich came at .55. All good, got home and again, any puff longer then 4 seconds I was getting dry hits. I made another coil just 20 minutes ago and I haven't got any dry hits. Here are some pictures with this one. Hope will stay like this. Do you guys have any advices on how I can improve the wicking?
