I lived in SF for over a decade and had been visting it for longer...so this subject got me to thinking and I did a little research....in 1960 at the birth of the Summer of love/ Haight Ashbury scene 41% of the population of SF were republicans..It was this population that were tolerant enough to make room in their city for freaks, hippies, gays, immigrants ect to thrive in peace....and yet today SF is so intolerant that only 9% of the population are now republicans...and they live in fear not in tolerance and villified daily....kind of funny huh..

They will follow you as soon as they realize what @#$%hole they have created. Sadly they will bring their governing philosophy and voting patterns with them.

“We [juul] encourage the City of San Francisco to severely restrict youth access but do so in a way that preserves the opportunity to eliminate combustible cigarettes,” the company said. “This proposed legislation begs the question — why would the city be comfortable with combustible cigarettes being on shelves when we know they kill more than 480,000 Americans per year?”

'We don't want them in our city': SF officials seek Juul crackdown

It is a feature not a bug of the governing philosophy.

OK... Say SF Bans All e-Cigarettes. What does this Really Accomplish?

Maybe Daly City and San Meteo fall in line also. But what about Alameda and Oakland? Or Richmond and San Refael?

What does all this Do besides hurting some Small Business owners inside The City?

It doesn't really matter if your country is right wing, left wing, socialist, communist or budhist. What does matter is how corrupt it is and therefore governed by individuals that have personal gain at heart, rather than their citizen's needs.

The more i look at the USA through the window on vaping regs the more I realise that its historical reputation around the world has either been totally wrong or that something has gone seriously wrong with the institutions which govern.

This situation is so, so, way, way off beam that it's almost unbelievable.

It makes me shiver.....

Your wrong charlie. The demonrats is this country are trying very hard to turn the US into a communist country. Young people are buying into their "everything for free" BS. Personal responsibility is rapidly becoming a thing of the past. Everything is always someone else's fault. If someone is addicted to vaping/ smoking it's the vaping products or tobacco products fault. If someone is an alcoholic it the booze companie's fault. If someone is in an auto accident is the car companie's fault. It someone is shot it's the firearm companie's fault. You get what I'm saying. It's always the fault of someone else. It didn't use to be like that.

Hey Donpalms I agree with you about the lack of personal responsibility but that's got nothing to do with corruption...two entirely different things....the ban on vaping has not followed on from a ban on tobacco use, alcohol use etc.

The only other reason it can be happening is someone is getting financial gain from it....believe me when you're looking from the outside in the situation is so bizarre that there is no logical people's argument for it.....sorry :)

You are correct. Democrats USED to be the party of the middle class, the party of the people. Then Jimmy Carter screwed the pooch and gave Republicans 12 years of owning the White House. During this 12 year period is when so called "Progressives" started taking over the Democrat party, turning it into the party of special interest and running the "Rules for Radicals" playbook. Any Democrats old enough to remember how the Democrats used to be don't even recognize their own party anymore.

I used to watch CSPAN right regular in the early days of CSPAN and used to look up to the sky and say "Lord please don't let some of those folks ever run the country".

Well for one reason or other I stopped watching CSPAN until W was president. I was shocked to see that every one of those whack-jobs I feared would ever gain control were in charge of the House and Senate.

I sighed and said "well Lord, I guess the hippies are in charge". Yet what surprised me most were that the people shouting about freedom to do anything that feels good are the ones cracking down on things that feel good.

It's ok to use Smack but not ok to vape in San Fransico? Perhaps they must are trying a new method of population reduction?

You are dead on Brother ... This is not intended to be a political thread but it is sort of hard to separate politics from the rest of it due to what is happening in the USA ..... With that said, and at the risk of getting off topic, I am an OLD duffer.... As such, I have witnessed many things that the young folks are not even aware of .... So yes, I have seen a DRAMATIC shift in our Country /Politics within the last couple of decades.... There is really nothing to debate with anyone about it because I have witnessed the change with my own eyes and long before many young people were even born.... One LARGE problem is that young people did not experience the USA the way it used to be (like I did) ... They only know what they are taught in the school systems. The giant problem with that is that they are not being taught the TRUTH..... In short, many colleges, and high schools are currently brainwashing their students to support an ideology that never existed in this Country in the past.... They believe it hook line and sinker as they have no other gauge to go by (such as age and wisdom)....

Not only are the school systems propagandizing students, but the "so-called" media is twisting and distorting the news. Not only that, but they often don't even report on certain events and so people are unaware that anything ever happened....

But no matter about politics, we the people who have benefited from vaping by it helping us get away from tobacco should be appalled by what the GVT. (and the people making all the money) is trying to do in regards to vaping......

LOL..... Marlboro owns 35% of a company that wanted people to quit smoking.. [emoji23][emoji1787][emoji38]

I don’t see it happening, they just talk or maybe those two board members wanted some bribery money to shut them up....

That sounds more realistic. However, I'm confused about this City. I thought it was an open minded, progressive community. Amongst the residents anyway. I'm living in a provincial city yet, I get a call from a doctor friend asking me for information on vaping products because her hospital is researching alternative methods to smoking cessation. Go figure.
