Yo @Superfecta_ I wanna see you make an interlocking alien, with a framed staple for the cores. Interlocking aliens for me are hit or miss. Sometimes I'll get a length perfect, but most times it'll start out good and well and then everything goes haywire on me (no matter drill speed), because the decored Claptons stretch differently even when tied together at both ends. I've been focusing on finding the perfect build for my Kennedy 24, so I haven't building as many aliens for myself lately. I'm gonna try out quads once I pull my 24/26 fused with 38g that I have in there now.

Stay tuned.
If I had any ribbon on me I'd be wasting my last 250ft of 36g trying to do it too haha. I'm going to go for it with 28g cores (maybe 10-20 strands of 40g framed as the center core), and a 36g or 38g interlocking alien.

Keep on forgetting to hit Full Pic:cool:

If you forget, go edit your post, press "More Options..." And click "Full Image" on your pic so you don't have to double post, every post

Edit: installed my 26g Clapton alien in my Hobo. Ohm'd out to bout .25.

I can only make like 2" of this at a time before it starts doing some funky stuff. Your decored para clapton needs to be perfect, or else when you stretch it, you're screwed. I've got some very interesting looking fails trying to do these. I'll have to slide this to the back burner for now.

My #&^$*% tripod broke today while I was snapping pics of these reversed framed staple aliens. Pics from me will be few and far between for a little bit until I figure out what I'm going to do. By figure out what I'm going to do, I mean figure out how much $$$ I wanna blow on a new photo setup. I might have to go all out, build a lightbox and stuff, we'll see.

This guy on instgram floral face makes these sweet looking reversed framed staple aliens, and I gave em a shot today. Nothing special on the process really, just wrap the alien the same way as the OG Clapton instead of opposite like normal. Makes for neat looking little coils. They are a total PITA to wrap into coils though, you really have to force them around a little to get them to sit right. I think they look cool.

These are all n80 28 .4 36 3mm .09Ω

It's not only the decored paraclapton that needs to be perfect, they need to be stretched perfectly uniformly as if they were one wire. When I try them I twists the ends together so to make sure that they stay perfect when stretching the decored clapton(s).
That's just (bad) luck about your photo rig. Building a light box wouldn't be hard or expensive, tripods are cheap. I'd say get an inexpensive phone camera clip for your pics until you figure out what you're gonna do.

I found the pictures. But the EL34's in the second image are used in classic British guitar amplifiers like Marshalls and Hiwatts, both of which I have owned and loved.
Marshalls are top notch. I used to own an angled Marshall half cab & amp (forget the specs on it), sold it because I wasn't playing as much as I used to. I was like 20 when I parted with it. The money went to good use, it funded my DJ rig. Umm, well, part of it....

Old pictures, studio practice set up. I still prefer my SL-1200MK2's over all digital.. Not many people still practice with real vinyl (time code vinyl excluded), I used to help out an awesome guy at the Englishtown Auction (kinda like huge flea market) who sold vinyls, turntables & amps. I would organize his singles and he would let me keep whatever I wanted. I have stacks of 12" singles anywhere from early 2000's-80's hip hop to Chicago/Detroit house music to disco to everything. Disco is fun because when you have a matching set of singles, you put a small piece of tape over the drum breaks to loop them. Pretty much how hip hop started.

Mess of wires. Set up for real vinyl, time coded vinyl (SSL/Traktor), & Midi.
I overhauled those 1200mk2's - new RCA's, internally grounded (not in that pic), and all lighting - pitch, strobe & pop up LED. In that pic only one has the reworked lighting as I'm just lazy AF.

You missed a few wraps! Now the world is gonna come to an end. Looks good though, I usually end up keeping my more deformed coils for myself because I sell the better made coils. Gotta make money & the coils I screw up work just as fine
