guessing this vivi was an experiment i will regret

to get anything out of this 1.8ohm, i have cranked the volts to 4.5, hits good, for one hit

as muted as the flavor is, I cant imagine what long wicks would be like, but damn it runs thru juice, almost a ML in an hour

Really? The 1.8 head has been my go to for consistent performance out of that. And I sure wouldn't take the 2.4 or the 2.8 over 4.2v, let alone the 1.8..

Most of the liquid is saturated in the wick, I would imagin that is what is giving that "illusion", if you will. I would guess that you have a V1 Vivi and that is where your issues are coming from. Anything that I have read about those basically says that the step from V1 to V2 was a remarkable one.

dialed it down to 4.2 and its doing ok, draw may be tightening up a bit at the wick becomes more saturated, but still airy. The wicks are very fine, and honestly looks like the coil may be wound to tight and choking the wick.

Jury is still out, but the majority vote is this isnt for me. I also picked of some of the clear 1.5 DC Mega XL cartos, setting that at 4.6v is much for satisfying, but i know being a carto, it will be more expensive in the long run

You could take a needle or something and pull up the coil a bit so it is able to fully saturate the wick without being cut off. Are those the EMDCCs or just a a regular 510 XXL carto?

regular XXL 510 DCC.

I may trim my wicks a bit more, they are just long enough that when they are wet, they don't droop, and sit right along the walls of the tube. When I mean trim, more like a shave

That should be good enough.. Just remember that it's probably not the best to go over 4.2v. That seems to be a pretty common stop point for clearos and Vivis.

Ill experiment with it, but I am blasting thru juice way to fast.

Just remember, those wicks are sucking up juice almost as fast as you are vaping. It will probably appear that way for the most part. Well keep playing with it and I hope you find some common ground with it. I'm heading to bed, got a long couple of days ahead of me. Have a good one!

Ok, filled the nova, running the 1.8ohm carto on it at 3.8 volts. Produces vapor like a champ, flavor compared to a carto muted, guessing there might be a lil break in time, but the draw is too airy. Throat hit non existant.

Guessing I have a V1 as the air holes are in the 510 threading. I have it tightened down as much as I am comfortable doing. Any suggestions?

I have always thought of ce2 style like a sports car. When it is running well, nothing is better. But half the time it's in the shop.

The version 2.5 that I have purchased from two separate vendors have the air intake holes in the 510 threads. Keep fiddling with. It untill it works like you want to. I have had a little bit of success taking one piece of wick just on top of the coil.

VV Box Mod Update.

On Fully charged batteries, I will push a 1.5ohm DCC as far as 5.6v. but i wouldnt recommend is as the unit, particularly the circuit board gets hot very quickly

Nova Update

after vaping thru 1.5 ml last night, and dialing down to about 3.8v, throat hit has increased, flavor is a bit better, hopefully i just needed to break coil. Maybe I just need to understand, im vaping at higher voltage, im going to burn thru more juice

Off to the zoo with kiddo, wish me luck.

Oh yeah, higher voltage = more liquid. If it starts to get too hot, too quickly you could always adhere a penny on the back of the PCB as a heat sink. I read about that around here somewhere. I can't condone defacing legal tender, but maybe something "similar" to a penny cut in half..:closedeyes:
