Hello all,

I have read through this thread 2 times now and well. umm

2 weeks out of the year I am Moderator/head one I guess for a camp of 200-500 people.
All gathered with a single purpose in mind.
We do have a set of guidelines/rules and more than once I/we have had to tell some one if you like the way they do it back home then please go back home where you can make your prayer.
When in Rome do as the Romans.
Stuff comes up all day long. In most cases myself and the others who help take care and resolve issues, and the majority of camp doesn't even know anything happened. That is the best way I know .
Handle it and move on.

We have asked people to leave and not come back. There have been a few times we have had to escort a few out the front gate that were continuing to cause problems even after being reminded of the rules.

Some have left because of the rules most have not . Some have left and comeback in a year or 2 and there are a few that were sent away, but after some time a groveling :) they can come back, but we do watch to see if they will behave.

This is a situation not unlike here.
Common cause and many people from different places and cultures and everyone has baggage that shows up for various reasons. For myself if I find myself getting angry/upset by a post or a ruling I look to see what it is in me that is being reflected back about myself that I don't like.

my 2 cents

The only thing I would like to see different is an easier way to visit all my favorite threads like the short cuts I have on my desktop. One of my favorite threads was just moved and now I can't seem to find it. Maybe being able to add threads we visit a lot to a favorites menu or something.
You can do that by using thread subscriptions...

The way I follow posts is by clicking on the Settings button, and it shows which of my subscribed threads have been posted in.
You can manually subscribe to any thread by using the "Thread Tools" menu at the top of the thread.

You can also set it up so that you are automatically subscribed to any thread you post in.
But you don't have to take that step if you don't want to, and can just stick with manually subscribing to the threads you want.

I set my subscriptions up to be notified through my Control Panel.
That is how you get the subscribed threads to show up when you click on Settings.

even though this is going off-topic ....

sun, you misunderstood. all that is needed is a VERIFIED paypal account. joker doesn't care how you get this verification, bank account, credit card, whatever.
depending on when people joined paypal the verification process has differed. atm the 2 only options are linking your bank account or a credit card issued by paypal.

Maybe it's supposed to work that way but it doesn't always Tib. I've had a PayPal account for more than a decade and yet I am still considered unverified by PayPal - even though I've had a charge card connected to that account all along. There are workarounds - such as having people you've dealt with vouch for you. The alternative verification was given in the explanation for becoming verified for the classifieds.

The only person that should have to be verified are the sellers!!!!! Why should I give my info to a second party if I'm a buyer? I pay with PP & have for years with no problem. To me it's just collecting info marination of a database of people for future sale of the forum or info. If someone doesn't pay then move on to the next person with your wares but it should be available for all to see.

Is ECF gonna reimburse you if your snookered in a sale & don't recieve
Your item simply because you've been verified by them? NO. I can the see the reasoning behind it for folks that want to sell but not for folks that want to purchase. I'm a mod on a huggge gun forum. Classifieds are available to everyone but you must be a supporting member to post items for sale.

1) PayPal is one of, if not the, most secure payment portal on the Web

2) The irony is PayPal has a policy against e-cig material / payments thru vendors

3) I've been following this thread and have yet to see anything worthwhile, suggestion wise .. leading me to believe that ECF and it's staff are doing a pretty good job ..

4) I got verified thru eBay and it was quick, painless and easy .. and I fully understand the reasoning behind verification ..

You can buy without being verified as far as i know.....

ECF is in a loose loose situation when it comes to the classys, either you let the place go crazy, and deal with the flack from the people who will get ripped off, or you try to make it somewhat safe, granted it will never be totally safe, but it could be worse on either end of the spectrum.

They even provide for people to be verified in another way apart from PayPal, its a very simple process. Personally, if you cant trust me and others in the classifieds enough to not rip you off when we get your info, then why should i or anyone else be willing to trust you without any info.

I think its very simple. If you don't feel comfortable with giving out that info to a person then you probably shouldn't be doing business with that person.

The first words out of certain people's mouths when we tried this model was so ECF is after our money again. blah blah blah

It has been explained over and over why J0ker had gone to this model for the classifieds after the initial classifieds change member feedback was solicited and a group of active classifieds users was brought into a think tank. This group of members helped to create the classifieds you have now. And yes we know it isn't perfect but it is a lot closer to what is intended and we'll continue to improve on them.

The verification methods are still being refined and we are looking at additional options, but the overall classifieds model is not going to change anytime in the near future.

You have to be verified to even access the classifieds.
