Should we go back to carto tanks?

I enjoyed using cartomizer tanks (I still have a bunch of them - the tanks, not the cartomizers). I moved on to RBAs and enjoy them so much that I will never go back to cartomizers. It seems that clearomizers are more popular these days.

The clearo quality has gotten so much better!!! If you think about it, an RTA is really a clearo tank for which you build your own coil and wick.

Along those lines, I decided to buy an Aspire Nautilus to see what our new folks were talking about. I was pleasantly surprised...shocked actually. They have come a long way.

I'll pass on carto's. I dealt with them enough on cigalikes. To me going to them now would be taking a step back.

Those were the days...

Shockingly, this old BLU battery, which I haven't used in 2 years, actually fired the tank...

If you have problems with cartos every time, or get more duds than winners, you're priming it wrong.

I find it ironic that so many people can and/or are willing to rebuild an RBA but struggle or refuse to master a cartomizer. It's a superiority complex, plain and simple. I am admittedly biased, but I've tried the gamut, RBAs, Kayfuns, Genesis-style, and nothing ever tasted right. Opinion, for sure. But rebuildables are NOT the "end game" or the "only" way to truly experience vaping, no matter what your best bud tells you. Cartos are still around for a reason. Because they work and work well. They come with quirks, but what doesn't?

I never left carto's, but until the BVC was released, was thinking I'd have to learn how to rebuild to get a satisfying vape. Now with BVC's and a Beyond Vape Silo on a Provari P3, I have a fantastic combination, that's simple to use, provides excellent flavor and enough vapor to keep me happy.

YES! but heads aren't consistent, some are great and some are a big failure. And at 3.75 each, if someone devised a tank I could screw a ceramic carto in, any I choose and have the airflow and ease filling I'd think of it twice.

I've been using my Smok UDCT, with Smok single-coil cartos, continuously since July 25 when I came back to 100% vaping. Since then, I've had ONE dud carto; nothing I did to it would make it vape. Had a couple others that didn't last very long, so maybe they could be considered duds too. But 3, in well over 3 months' time? That's an excellent performance record, IMO.

I just primed one. See what you guys do.

I hate DCT, they're never below the 2.5 ohm range. Vape like hell whenever the power is low, they require at least 4.5v. Can't the Nautilus BVC tech be reproduced to be vaped in a regular way, cheaper? And that doesn't require you fill yourself with juice all over to refill?

Mind you, I was one of the first carto slashers, going back to KR909D, back when we did them with syringes...

I actually at the moment don't want to bother learning to rewire coils or build mechs. I am happy with my Itaste vv with a Kanger Aerotank mini. I am still pretty new though compared to a lot of people to vaping. But right now I have no reason to move to cartos that remind me of cigalikes or move on to mechs. I am comfortable where I am at.

There are so many factors that go with vaping that trying to diagnose problems comes across like a garage mechanic or, conversely, a medical doctor, trying to isolate symptoms. Diagnostic questions are the norm, and don't lie to those trying to help you. If you dropped it or otherwise did damage to it, or maybe think it might have been user error, own up to that blank and admit it. Being honest and asking sincere questions will make your vaping experience helpful. If you lie to anyone trying to help you to save face, advice will not help you. Many vapers with experience have been there and done that. We all learn from making mistakes. Don't blame ANYONE else for something you were told but forgot, and do your best to pay attention to advice offered. Nothing is more mind meltingly annoying than trying to help the same person over and over again with the knowledge that they will disregard and ignore your advice and than later pitch a fit because s/he didn't pay enough attention (and then blame you for THAT.)

There will always be a place for cartotanks. Where I think that place is, I'll keep to myself. ;)

Not everyone likes the look of ProTanks, Aspires or Nautilus's. Even fewer have the desire or aptitude to fiddle with rebuildables.

If anything should pass quietly into the night, it ought to be eGo's and eGo threaded attys. Those have probably caused more property damage than mech mods.

I've never tried cartos (they were before my time, if I may say so). I am having a look now, especially as I have a friend who wants me to buy a Salt 'n Pepper tank. But what are the advantages? Is it worth using alongside RBAs? The thought that I will have to make regular purchases of consumables is annoying: how long does a carto last?

Ive never had another tank type topper easier to use than a cartotank. (Protanks not included), I still like those with my rebuilt coils!) I use several ibtankeds with ikenvape cartos from 1.7 to 2.5. The only duds ive had were ones I screwed up by not priming correctly.

I have all kinds of RBAs, SS mesh tanks, RDAs, etc but theyre all collecting dust in my vape tool box. Theyre just easy to set up and use! You tube a couple of ibtanked vid reviews and youll see what I mean!

'Advanced vaping' is finding one's optimal delivery system, being happy with it; not chasing the next fad and never being satisfied...
Maybe I'm old school; my daily driver is a 1997 VW Golf Jazz edition, which I bought new. Oddly, dub heads in tricked out or new VWs come up to me on occasion in parking lots complimenting me on its condition and and asking me about it...
I also have a new Audi which rarely leaves the garage; the VW is more fun to drive...
