Should we say "infuse" instead?

Let's not reinvent a vocabulary when there is one already established and in common use...

It's our horse. I say we can do what we want with it.

If you meld the juice you just steeped with another then blend it with some pg and mature it in a bottle with some vg you could oxidize some flavours then wait for it to age and you would have awesome mix.

Only if you want it fully "Seasoned".

;)

I agree completely with this. Let's call it marinating. Official vote now. Yes or no on Marinating.

I vote No.

Something about Marinating that brings to mind Ribs floating in BBQ Sauce. Not what I think of when I think of e-liquids sitting in the bottom drawer of my desk for a week.

I say we call it "Aged".

If you Hate Analogs and Love Your Country, vote for "Aged".

I think I'm going to use the word Mounting with the dominate flavor being the Mountor and the lessor flavor being the Mountee. Recently, I made some Apple Pie Ice Cream by mixing TPA Apple Pie with TPA Vanilla Swirl. I mixed the ingredients and then spent the next three days letting the Vanilla Swirl flavor mount the Apple Pie flavor.

Ewwwww, I can't go with procreating on my juice. Here's a novel idea. Why not call it steeping. Everyone's been saying that forever anyway, so nobody can be confused. Only a couple of people have a problem with the word, which is beyond me on why, so let's just use it. Yes or no?

No Can Do.

Steeping is a Terrible Term for what people do to e-Liquids. You know it. I know it. Everyone but the Rubes know it.

Just because it’s simple or what “they” want to use doesn’t make it right. It’s Kinda what’s wrong with Education currently.

It used to be that even if something was hard or took effort, that it was worth doing because it was correct. Now Slang and Sloth rules the world. Heaven help someone if they swim upstream and want to use a more Precise Term or a Proper Phrasing. It's the 2%.

And what do we care if Newbies get all Befuddled and Confused? Newbies are Always Befuddled and Confused. Who cares? Their Newbies. That’s what they do.

We Shouldn’t have to lower ourselves to the Lowest Common Denominator (Unless your Adding or Subtracting Fractions. In which case, ANY common Denominator works) just so some Newbie doesn’t get confused.

It’s like passing some kid to the next grade level that can’t do Math just because his peer’s will make fun of him. Don’t worry if he Can’t figure out how much PG is in his e-Liquid. The big issue is that he doesn’t get Ridiculed or Confused. Right?

And beside. This is the Steeping Symantec Zone. Where we can toss out better terms to describe what happens to e-Liquids than the term “steeping” free from Status Quo thinking.

There are 2,000+ threads concerning "Steeping". Can’t there be 1 Counter-Steeping Nomenclature Thread?

Is that too much to ask?

Some words have taken on a life of their own.

Atty

Batt

Juice

Cart

for example. You aren't going to change popular lingo, trying will only make you appear to be the language police. ;)

I notice that "Steep" isn't one of those listed. An Oversight I'm sure.

Language Police? Wow. That's Heavy. Never been accused of that before.

But as to "change". Can't change Popular Culture? I always remeber the words of Steven Biko immortalized by peter gabriel.

...

You can blow out a Candle...
But you Can't blow out a Fire.
Once the flames begin to catch...
The wind will blow it higher.
Oh Biko, Biko, Because Biko.
...

Maybe we who chose to call what happens to e-Liquids when they sit for a period of time by a name that is Not "steeping" can be called "Candles" by some. That doesn't mean that change can not happen.

BTW - Notice that is use the term "e-Liquid" verses "juice" in all my posts?

Glad to see that someone isn't taking this thread, or should I say My posts, too seriously.

;)

Hey TC... What happened to your Avatar?

Kinda looks like some Old Guy doing a Farm Aid Concert to pay for his Back Taxes.

That Cat with the 510 in Her mouth is Much Better.
