Do they do a Sherlock Holmes version?

I can't remember EPM ever doing a Sherlock version. They may have before I got hooked on them. You may want to check Mycroft Milverton out in the U.K. I'm sure I've seen him do some Sherlock style pipe conversion.

PS: I'm interested in this thread because I always prefer the sleek, stainless look, as opposed to the fancy frilly "girly" look. Something as new-tech as these things ought to look futuristic, not "frilly." JMO. :D

Agreed! "Girly set ups" are not my cup of tea .. My mother recently told me that my gear looked "too manly"

That's better than what I've been told... 2 different people offered the opinion that it looked like "drug paraphernalia" (I'm paraphrasing because I know the real phrase would get censored!). Not sure why my mom thought that, as I'm pretty sure she's never laid eyes on that particular item.

But all I can say to those ignorami is, been there, done that, and no it doesn't. :D

That thing is beautiful (in a manly way of course...) How do you do that? I would love to do that to my MVP.

Thanks  I masked over all the chrome a did it with and airbrush. A few coats of paint then wet'n'dry rinse and repeat till the logo and criss cross lines no longer show in the paint finish. Then 4-5 thin coats of flat varish to protect it from scratches.

Did you take the whole thing apart and just have the outer shell to paint or did you just tape over any parts that you didn't want painted? Sorry for the dumb questions; I am not into painting or anything but seriously considering doing this. I could always just buy another MVP if I screw up so no problem...

I can't help but notice most of the "manly" mods look like you have a penis in your mouth when you use them.:) (ITS A JOKE. Please do not take it the wrong way.)

This is manly because I rescued it from the bottom of the sea.

I put masking tape around all the chrome. I wouldn't try this unless you have painted with airbrushes before. If your thinking of using a can of spray paint you might be disappointed with the result. You have to fine sand every coat as well to get a perfect finish. You can get great wraps for the mpv the 1's ive seen are really cool. I just haven't found any in the U.K.

It's funny you mentioned the wraps because I just purchased one a couple of days ago and I am a little slow and completely messed it up. I wasn't really thinking of using a spray can but I figured I might give something a try, I just need to figure out what that something is going to be. I just can't get over how nice that looks...
