Do you forgot that evic have an amp limitation? If the evic is in the amp that he canthandle is pretty accurate, if you setup something on the higer amp he can handle is obvious he stays under,, make your ohm laws calculation and you will see.

I'm not going to calculate it all. The point is that if some-one is vaping below 5 watts or above 9 watts then there's difference compared to a more accurate pv. With an rba at LR there will be a difference too, pretty much at any watts. It vapes ok, its just about comparison. I have a version 1 Zmax that isn't accurate because it doesn't have RMS. It vapes fine, but I can't compare those settings with an accurate pv. With the later version Zmax I can because it has RMS. That's all I'm saying - its for cross comparison purposes.

I trust that this pissin' match is short lived, as it serves no useful purpose for the topic of this thread.

I don't see that way Andy - just explaining it. I sometimes see posts from people who change from one mod to another and notice one hits differently. It can be discussed.

ETA: have read the whole thread as I was looking at getting an Innokin SVD or this Zmax 3. Both seem quite good.

I totally agree with your comment, kiwivap. However, in your opinion, in this the proper place to carry on such a discussion? If so, and in your mind, if it adds value to this thread topic . . . Please, continue on.

Well yes, I was giving a suggestion in reply to Odysseus here:http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...er-reports-one-week-later-22.html#post9669106

I think we've established that he could be in AVG instead of RMS, and that he may also be on a setting that hits differently. Now if you have any more info on the Zmax 3 I'd be interested.
Is it very heavy? The reports are that its quite sturdy. I've been trying to get an idea of how long it is. I have a Vamo which is long in 18650 mode. I believe the SVD is quite long.

Back to topic, i have several efest 18350 but people are reporting they dont work well on shorty mode with the long battery cap.. Were can i buy the short cap if my kit does not came with both caps?

You won't need the shorter cap for 18350 flat top. If the spring in the longer cap doesn't make good contact with the battery then stretch the spring a mm or two. It will work fine.

Yeah, I'm set to mean not root mean square.

I don't fully understand the difference. Practically speaking.

RMS is the accurate display for what you have set. e.g. You have it set for 3.8 volts and it is putting out 3.8 volts. Same for the watts. The straight mean is not actually the output. So, just a made up example, your display says 3.8 volts but your device is hitting and 4.4 volts. People often notice this when they go down to a low voltage or wattage and it seems to be hitting harder than it should. Its because they are in AVG instead of RMS.
Hope that helps - in practical terms it just means you have consistency between display and output with RMS. And at lower settings you aren't hitting too hard.
My V1 Zmax doesn't have RMS - I vape by taste. I can tell its hitting harder than my V2 Zmax at the same settings.

Well, while all of you are discussing the finer, more advanced issues with the Zmax, I thought I'd dumb down the thread with my total newb update. In a nutshell: ordered from Edward at Sun Vapers, screen arrived scratched, mailed it back to vendor and while in transit I found out from this thread that it wasn't the screen, it was the protective film that I noticed but didn't want to mess because it looked permanent to me. Despite it pretty much being my oversight, Edward promised me he didn't do a facepalm and quickly mailed it back free of charge. Zmax now looks great and works like a champ!

I've had mine a bit over a week now. I ordered it from electricstix.com. It did come with both battery caps for those who are interested. I run it in both 18650 and 18350 modes. I have a couple of nitpicks, but overall I'm very pleased with it.

As everyone has mentioned, it's a solid unit and it feels substantial in your hand. The threads are nice and smooth - especially after a bit of cleaning and a touch of Vaseline. I have a number of devices of varying ohms. So, the set it and forget it simplicity of VW is a nice feature to have. And the one button menu is much easier to navigate than I anticipated it to be. It sounded like it might be a hassle, but it's really not.

Ok, onto the bad; In 18350 mode, I find the placement of the button to be a bit lower than I would like it to be. I'm used to it at this point, but it would feel more natural if it was up much higher on the unit. It's not a problem in 18650 mode since the extended body provides enough area to grip lower on the unit. The only other issue I have is that there is a bit of play when the unit is telescoped out to hold an 18650 battery. It's not "rattley", but there is definitely a bit of movement in the end section. I suspect I could eliminate this if I were to torque down on the battery a bit more. However, after reading about the issue some people have had with the PCB shifting, I'm apprehensive to tighten it down any further than it needs to be.

To reiterate jafmf95's response, yes.

So far this is my only quibble with the Zmax. Being an ego-only user before this, I'm used to holding it in such a way that my thumb comfortably engages the button. I'm finding that using my middle finger is the best option with the Zmax; it takes some getting used to but I'm slowly coming around.

I got my zMax in the mail yesterday. I thought I'd ordered the flat top, but it turns out I ordered the tapered one. Oh well...maybe I'll buy a flat top next too LOL! I consider myself still a noob, have only been vaping since September 1. I started with cigalikes but they didn't last long enough for a "real" smoker, so I got an eGo kit a few days later. I moved up to an eGo Twist a few months ago, inherited a bunch of eGo batteries from a friend when she quit vaping (so lots of pretty backups)!

I'd been wanting an APV, but it can be confusing figuring out what to get, and to be honest, a lot of the lingo goes over my head (especially when reading about volts and watts and ohms). After a LOT of reading on the forums here, I decided on the zMax, and so far, I'm loving it. I'm using an iClear 30, but I'm wondering what other people use?

I don't want to get into rebuildable anything (other than to buy replacement things that can just be screwed in and go like on my iClears), so anything that comes ready to go would be great. I had tried a Vivi Nova tank on my eGo and it just tasted burnt, so I've been leery of tanks because I don't think I know how to properly use them.

Any pointers, in really dumbed-down laymen's terms, on ohms, volts, and watts?
