I have two ZMax V3's and a Vamo V3 and prefer the ZMax V3's. The Vamo is a lighter construction and doesn't feel as "solid" as the ZMax in my hand. I'm less worried about the Zmax if I drop it. At first, I liked the two extra buttons to easily adjust the voltage/power on the Vamo, but then I found that they were getting pressed by accident and changing my power level. I now much prefer the single button interface even if it takes slightly longer along with a few extra clicks to get to the menu.

Where not the Vamo's produced in various metals? My V2 feels like some sort of Iron.

I have no idea if they made them in different metals so I can't comment on that. I do know they offered different finishes when I bought mine.

The metal on my Vamo V3 tube is thinner than on my Zmax and I would guess that it's some sort of lighter alloy as well. It may well be iron and maybe I get the wrong impression because the walls of the tube appear to be much thinner than on the Zmax.

I'm not saying the Vamo is more likely to get bent or damaged under normal circumstances. I'm just saying the Zmax feels much more robust and solid to me which I like better (even if it is heavier). Some people may actually prefer the lighter feel and construction of the Vamo V3. I probably could have gotten past that fact if it weren't for the additional buttons that ended up just frustrating me because they were always getting pressed accidentally and changing my settings. I think they would have been more successful by making those extra buttons shorter so they weren't as easy to press. Just my :2c:.

I bought mine in the latter half of 2013, so maybe they've already made some changes that I'm not aware of, like being able to lock the upper buttons while still allowing you to vape normally with the large fire button. A friend of mine recently bought a "Vamo-style" clone that allows you to lock the upper 2 buttons so you can't press them by accident. As far as I can tell, mine Vamo V3 won't do that.

I think there were three versions, Steel or possibly brass that was plated, stainless steel, aluminum. I am sure the aluminum versions were dent prone.

The Sigelei enjoys some sunshine. It hit 73° here in northern California today.

I ordered mine from them as well. Very poor customer service IMHO but I did get the same kit you got in black for 57 so...I'll take it as a win.

Pretty pitiful that a company (eLiquid-USA) is willing to (and DID!) lose a possible lifetime customer over a $6.95 battery they shorted me on my order and aren't even willing to take the 30 seconds it would take to reply and rectify their mistake! I've been emailing them through every possible means for a week!! Oh well, upward and onward I go!! BTW, I just received my Orbtronic IMR 30A 18650 SX30 Ultra High Drain Hybrid batts and Nitecore i4 charger. The Zmax is chucking now!!! :vapor:

The Desert Vapes V3 and V5 stainless steel body only packages includes both short and long battery caps and a 30-day vendor warranty.

Kind of curious about the charger. I opted out on the "factory box" option. Received no charger. I wonder if you do get the charger if you select the box with order.

No, these are body only deals, which is the best way to buy a Sigelei IMHO. You get only the Sigelei with two battery caps, no crummy ICR battery and no cheap charger you will eventually want to replace sooner or later.

I agree so the charger must come with the full kit. Vamo has released a separate charger for about $6.00. Should work withe Zmax.

Several of us here bought body only Sigeleis that came in plain jane small white cardboard boxes with Sigelei logos on the sides. The Sigelei was inside wrapped in plastic. It looks like Desert Vapes is charging extra for these boxes. If they leave the mod in the factory plastic bag and wrap it in some bubble wrap it should ship fine in a bubble-lined envelope. The kits come packed in fancier Sigelei boxes.

Mine were fine. Sitting in the plastic insert from the box bubble wrapped. The only thing I miss is I like to store mods in their original boxes. No big deal.

Sorry if this seems a little off topic, but Yzer's pic of his Zmax out on a sunny day made me want to bring this up.

Has anyone noticed that allowing the sun to shine on your e-cig for a just little while causes the e-juice in the tank to change color and/or taste funny afterwards?

I use grape flavor mixed with 50/50 VG/PG which appears clear, and I noticed that if the sun shines on it for a little while, it starts to get yellow, tastes a little different, and I get a harsh throat hit (not in a good way). Ever since I noticed this, I'm forever trying to keep my tank in the shade, especially when I'm driving. Obviously just a minute or two of sun isn't enough to cause this, but if I let the sun shine on it for any length of time (>10 min?) it seems to happen to one degree or another (worse the longer it stays in the sun). I'm wondering if its caused by the ultraviolet light breaking down the juice, or maybe just the heat? It's also possible that my particular mix of e-juice is more susceptible to this.

I always keep my e-juice supplies in the fridge (dark most of the time) since I've heard that the sun can make your e-juice go bad faster. Keeping it cool also seems to help it last longer. I'm just surprised by my experience with how quickly my e-juice can go bad if I'm outside in the sun. I've had to dump the remaining contents of my tank and refill with fresh e-juice on several occasions. I go through 1 or 2 large tanks of juice a day, so I know the juice isn't just getting old. It also never happens if I'm indoors or at home out of the sunlight.

Anyone have a similar experience with your e-juice?

Yep. Sunlight will cause the nicotine to darken in e-juice. This is oxidation of the nicotine. Oxidation is also caused by heating the nicotine. In that photo you will see that the unflavored 15mg juice I have in the carto tank is a little yellow. That's not from the Bank's Roses. This is because I have been vaping the same carto for a week and yellow nicotine oxide (cotinine) is starting to accumulate in the tank. When I refill the tank the juice I'm putting in is clear. By the time I've vaped the same carto for 10 days the juice is pretty yellow and strong tasting. That's when I replace the carto and clean the tank.

Thanks for the reply Yzer. Great info.

I've had someone else tell me that an older carto or atomizer will darken the juice, but that doesn't seem to happen to me. I can go several weeks using the same atomizer and tank, and my juice stays clear the entire time until it gets low and it's time to refill it. I've had some pretty nasty looking coils that I've replaced, but using them in that condition never seemed to darken my e-juice. In my experience it's only when I'm out in the sun that I notice that yellowing effect. It may have something to so with the lower nicotine level I'm currently vaping, but I can't remember that occurring even when I was using a higher level.

Is that maybe just a carto thing? I've never used them so I have no idea.
