sigelei ZMax is definitely a good device but it isnt perfect out of the box thats for sure. It was meh at first with efest 18650s...then i bought some Panasonic NCR18650PF's, cleaned the threading om every piece and lubed it up. Its like a whole new PV. Hits better...no more misfires. It used to drive me mad that randomly it would "reboot" and cycle menu mid vape. Cleaning and lubing the threads makes a HUGE difference

Also, one thing I forgot. Does anyone else get the weird issue while holding the ZMax with pinky around the bottom telescope cap near the seperation point, it heats up? Feels like hot air blowing that stops the second you release the fire button. Battery doesnt get warm...just feels like a blast of hot air. It does this irregardless of what battery im using. Wondering if im feeling a current arc..

You have me baffled by that one. Are you standing on a wet lawn when this happens?

Yeah i cant figure it out either. It doesnt always happen. Mayne 5% of the time? Little less. It feels super hot tho and as soon as i move my finger it goes away, tube isnt hot. Thats why im comvinced its an electrical arc. Maybe i oughta stop chain vaping 1.5ohm dual coils at 13 watts.

I've felt the tube get hot down by the battery on several occasions. If you're sure it's not the battery, then this would indicate that there is some electrical resistance in the threads which is why it's heating up there. Whenever I feel that, it tells me it's time to clean up the threads and re-apply Noalox which always resolves it. Hopefully you're using Noalox. Just lubricating the threads isn't enough. You really need to use a product that improves electrical conductivity as well.

Off topic, what does the little dialog box on the lower right under each post do when selected (checked)? Looking for a way to know when someone answers, replies to or quotes my posts (aka Facebook style notifications). TIA
It's a multi-quote box. You check the posts you want to reply to, then click on the reply to thread box on the bottom of the page.

For what you are wanting, the closest thing would be to go to your profile and click on "subscriptions." Alternatively, you can click on "what's new," at the top left corner of any ECF page, and then select "my posts."

It is definitely electrical. Cleaned it up and used some noalox and it went away for now. Getting even better vape too. Damn you zmax!

Cool. Thanks so much Plan! Been scouring the FAQ and everywhere else to find this out.:thumb:

Yzer, There was a discussion earlier about Desert Vapes and their V3/V5 packaging. I have a feeling unless a "Kit" is ordered from vendors one does not get the USB charger adapter. Some linked examples. Any thoughts? I did not receive an adapter with my V5 order from Desert Vapes.

$44.37 Authentic Sigelei Zmax V5 Telescopic Variable Volt/Watt Mod - gunmetal at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

$57.48 Authentic Sigelei Zmax V5 Telescopic Variable Volt/Watt Starter Kit - gunmetal / 2.4ohm / 1.6ml / US plug charger at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

By the way Vamo has a separate plug available which I believe will work on any APV with the cell charging menu.

$6.52 Vamo Portable Moblie Phone USB Charger at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Desert Vapes clearly states that the following items are included with their Stainless steel Sigelei V5:

1pc Zmax telescope body including a short battery cap
1pc An extra long battery cap
1pc 510/USB Charging Adapter w/Hook

Desert Vapes Sigelei V5

What I don't see on this list is the USB cord shown in their product photos. Is this what you are missing or are you missing the cell phone charging adapter that screws onto the 510/eGo connector? I purchased a USB cord recently to download photos from a cell phone to a desktop computer. It cost $1.77 at Fry's.

I did not receive the USB charger with hook. Too late now since it has been well over a month.

Sorry to hear that. Let's hope you have a lot better luck with the V5 than you did with the SVDs. I haven't ordered anything from Fasttech. Too much evidence that they may be selling factory seconds at reduced prices.

There is no hope involved. The V3 and V5 have performed flawlessly for me. They feel better in the hand. Better led (Oled). One button control. Apples and Oranges!

That is baseless rumor from the FastTech forum discussions. If you have real "evidence" post up links.

FastTech also offers a "45 day money back/6 month exchange" guarantee for everything they sell, which is more than most American vendors provide.

Yzer, don't judge me by the APV's I own.

I made a reasonable query. I want to see your "evidence." I order stuff from FastTech. If I'm being sold seconds, I want to know about it.

There is something going on with Fasttech. All the authentication labels are removed from Innokin boxes. Why? Either these were backdoor sales, seconds or something not on the up and up. I feel they are genuine units since they are sealed with labels carefully removed. Seconds may be another matter. I have had 2 SVDs fail from them. Who knows?

The labels being removed probably has to do with (edit: the manufacturer's) MAP (Minimum Advertised Pricing) requirements more than something being a factory second. I know there are companies who don't "officially" sell products to FastTech for a variety of reasons. From what I've read, the general consensus of opinion seems to be that those companies don't want to be boycotted by the vendors in America and other countries.

I quote you "Where is the proof"? There is none so it is all speculation.
