I don't get it either. My vaping comfort zone is 6.5 to 8.0W and I'm usually at the lower end of that range. 9.0W is a lot more vapor than 7.0W but I really don't need it and prefer to have my batteries last longer between charges.

I definitely don't get it either. I usually vape at ~6 to 7 watts with ~2 to 2.5 ohm coil. When I wrap my coils, I figure out what resistance to make it first and then cut off the appropriate length of kanthal. I've pretty much go it down to a science and very seldom have excess wire that gets wasted. Sure, with the sub ohm coils you can get great, fast heat, but I've found that the wick and coil needs more frequent cleaning and that it's much easier to burn juice. Too, battery life in the sub ohm range probably is not very good.
To me, sub ohm vaping is like the guys with the big block motors. The power is there and it's fun to use every now and then, but when you do, your gas mileage drops exponentially, just like vaping sub ohm causes your battery life to drop.
I'll stick with my 2.4ohm twisted 30 gauge kanthal in my KFL, Taifun and Aqua's running at 6 watts.

My screen covers been off for months and I dont care; hasn't affected performance at all lcd still like new. (Elmer's glue only lasts a month) dust has no effect on the switch it's been wide open in all day outside working conditions. Actually it's working better than ever same noalox for months rarely misfires anymore. This is 10+ months, thing kills it with stacked 350's lasts me all day with 1.3-1.5ohm at 5.5-6v. Rocking 20w & 6-8ml of juice. Lovin it! And only 40.00!!!!!!

Your Zmax only supplies battery power. Dry is from the topper. Could be the coil or wick is clogged. Try changing it.

when i got the V5, i just put liquid in the tank, screwed the bottom onto it and started vaping... did i need to install anything else? did i need to buy a wick and fit that? sorry for the questions that may seem a bit obvious, im very new to this still and trying to learn all the time.

We were all new once. What tank do you have?

i only have the standard one that came with it.... i dont know the model name, but its this one

ProTank Clearomizer info-500x500.jpg

Yes that one is fine. The "removable atomizer" at the bottom of the picture does not last forever. Sometimes only a few days. If it didn't come with spares, a local shop should have them. Kanger style is what you are looking for. You can try rinsing it in hot water and letting it dry overnight to see if it cleans out.

Off to work now.

Never hurts to have some extra replacement heads too (more than the two they give you).
$4.73 Authentic Protank Clearomizer Coil Heads (5-Pack) 5-pack - 1.8ohm at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping or
$4.88 Authentic Protank Clearomizer Coil Heads (5-Pack) 5-pack - 2.5
These extra heads can be had domestically, even locally, a lot quicker for your existing one (sounds like you need one to me). Just google "protank heads." I prefer authentic Kanger ones - they're a little more consistent and trouble-free, and for just a little bit more.

JeremyR...you're a genius!

I didn't realize it, but you're absolutely right about our Sigs being able to push 20 plus watts to the coil(s). Using Ohm's Law calculator, a 1.3 ohm coil supplied with 6 volts from two 18350 batteries will indeed produce more than enough power (calculates to 27.69 watts) for my vaping tastes.

Folks...listen to this guy JeremyR, as he is very intelligent and well informed when it comes to knowing about our Sigelei's...and probably lots of other things too.

Thanks Jeremy R!

Hello people. Just thought I'd pop in and ask if anyone had any firing button problems like I am having.
Sorry, it looks like this thread is pretty huge, so I didn't have much time to read back through all of the pages to find my answer.
I have a Sigelei Zmax (tele) V5 that I received from Fasttech. It is the flat top and I was sort of disappointed that the top cap Was Totally flat. I was expecting, at least, a little bit of a bevel, like the photo on the site showed. I really like that bevel because it contours and looks a lot better with certain heads.
So getting to the button. My button will stay fired by itself sometimes (I think it's happened about 4 or 5 times). When I first received the Zmax last week, I noticed right away that the button would spin from left to right (and back) slightly.View attachment 355922View attachment 355921 I am thinking this is a defect and maybe it's why the power sticks on sometimes.
Well, I just wondered if anyone else has run into this issue. In the meantime, I am waiting to hear from Fasttech to see what they say. Thanks kindly for any feedback!

Wanna trade top caps? I have a v3 flat-top (pretty sure the top-caps on v3s and v5s are interchangeable), but mine has the slight bevel, which I have to jump thru hoops to get rid of -- best fix I've found so far is taking the top cap completely off and using a kayfun ring as a beauty ring.

I recommend you use clear packing tape to cover the empty window. Not that thin flimsy stuff, but the thicker wider stuff they sell for sealing boxes that comes on a plastic roll with the toothed edge to cut the tape. I think it's made by Scotch and it's usually sold anywhere tape is sold. Just wrap a piece that is cut to size all the way around the tube and leave enough overlap on the sides of the window so it's strong. The tape is strong and clear so you can still see through it just fine. I know someone who used it and said he completely forgot about the missing window. He also mentioned that the few times he accidentally pushed on the tape over the hole with a finger, it held up superbly. At least with this solution you have something covering the hole and you can avoid getting dust bunnies and debris in there.

Desert Vapes has changed their free shipping down to $50. Bad news is they have removed flat top V3 and V5 from the pages. Round top V3 and V5 are still the same price. I assume that a higher power tube is replacing these soon.

I believe it is the end of the line for the low wattage units. At least the SX350 chip has a starting wattage of 5 watts. As the DNA chips go higher and higher I expect the lower end wattages to go up as well. We cool vapers have been left behind to the cloud chasers.

Innokin posted on facebook today their new SVD 2.0 with an Evolv DNA 20. Sigelei already has IIRC 20, 30, and soon 100?

I don't need the watts, just sell me something that will last longer than a few months for under $50.

And be easy to read in bright sunlight!!

I have to admit that I'm pretty happy with my Sigeleis so far. Keep in mind that "so far" means 15 months for me. My two V3s and V5 are the only rigs I have used for the past 15 months. They all work great, no broken parts, nothing worn out and the brushed stainless finish on them still looks new.

I have to credit these Sigeleis as useful tools in my effort to quit smoking. It's been 27 months since I had even a single puff of cigarette smoke. I'm happy with 6.5 to 8.0W and have no plans to to move to a higher wattage rig.

That is the point Yzer. We may be forced to go to higher wattages if the chip development is only pushed to higher and higher levels for the cloud chasers. I can only hope some products continue to be developed in the low wattage range. Innokin issued a release today on a new mod using a new DNA 20 chip from Evol. You should have seen the outcry. More More More power. Why would a DNA 20 chip be released when higher wattages are already here was the tirade. That's all the cloud chasers want.
