In another thread you reported problems with this sigelei during the second week of use. You said that a line appeared under the text that appeared on the OLED display. Given the relatively short warranty provided with most Chinese made APVs it is important to contact the vendor if any problems develop during a warranty period. Symptoms are symptoms.

I wrote this in another thread a couple of days ago. It pertains to anyone who buys a Chinese-made APV.

The Sigelei Zmax V3 Telescopic and the Provari are both bell and whistle-laden APVs. I was looking at both last month when I wanted a new APV to celebrate a year without smoking.

I chose the Sigelei. Accuracy on both APVs is too close to call a difference.

The Sigelei offers 510 and eGo threading, the Provari doesn't.

The Sigelei Telescopic will handle 18350, 2x18350, 18400/18500, 18500 and 18650 batteries without expensive tube extensions or buying a separate mini model. Telescopic battery tubes means battery versatility when you want it at much less cost.

The Provari has a far better warranty, no doubt about that. As to which APV is more durable only time will tell. Anyone who says the Provari is more durable is just guessing. The Sigelei Telescopic hasn't been in use for a year.

Not all Chinese-made gear is junk. I used my Smoktech E-Power 14650 every day for 18 months. It never died. It's still my back-up rig.

With all that money I saved with the Sigelei I upgraded my battery supply, carto tank, and carto stash. I still had a lot left over.

Chinese gear will have a higher defect rate. I got around this by using the Sigelei heavily during the shorter warranty period and keeping a very critical eye on performance. I was ready to return it quickly if any problems arose. I operate on the theory that if an APV doesn't have problems during the first weeks it's usually good to go for a long while.

Besides, the Sigelei Telescopic flat top looks a lot better than a Provari.

I am looking into answers regarding the six month guarantee that appears in the Sigelei Zmax User Manual that came packed with my Sigelei Telescopic. I have not experienced any problems with it to date that I can't account for by user error, but I want some more specifics on how to use the guarantee. I will pass along anything I can learn.

The Sigelei guarantee:

“Products are guaranteed for six months from the delivery date. we will not guarantee products that have been damaged through improper use or intentionally damaged.”

I assume that this guarantee applies to the Sigelei user, and not the vendor as it appears printed in the User Manual. Stay tuned.
I did infact make a post about lines going through the screen after just a week of use, and I would have contacted my vendor but unfortunately I was not able to make time to do so. At the time I was overworking everyday and basically passing out as soon as I got home just to repeat the next day, but my Sigelei still worked, so I dealt with it. The finish started to rub off to the right of the screen but I figured I'd just get a wrap for it. And then out of left field it just stops responding to the button but every few clicks, no user error, nothing. I was willing to continue using it despite the messed up screen and shoddy finish, but now that it barely works I guess I am backed up into a corner with options to do with it so I will be contacting my vendor to see if they can do anything.

Sigelei Telescoping ZMax V3 Flat-Top ... and the ... "eGo DCT Cone for 3.5ml SmokTank - Type D"

The sigelei zmax v3, has a raised 510 connector
- I want something to fill in the gap
- Wanted something to add more of a wider support as a base, than just the 510 connector.

This ... "eGo DCT Cone for 3.5ml SmokTank - Type D" ... does the trick
- The ZMax V3 has ego/kanger threads
- It fits perfectly
- It can be screwed in/out, to adjust for the height

My Zmax arrived today. woohoo! Looking forward to putting it through it's paces. :vapor: Will give more input on performance after I've used it for a week.

I got my kit from Varitube and it came with both battery caps. Per their note on my invoice, they also test fired my unit and applied Noalax to the threads before shipping it out. Nice touch!

Anyway, in the User Manual, I noticed it says, "It could work with one 18650 battery and also two 18350 batteries with extra longer bottom cap."

So it sounds as if Sigelei is saying the shorter cap should actually be the default, and you only need to use the taller one if you're stacking. *shrug* But those of you who received only one cap, it was the taller of the two, right?

Did you get the kit in the sweet sigelei coffin?
I am thinking about placing an order with varitube right now for this very device.
My first sigelei from exhalevapors started glitching out and malfunctioning 16 days after getting it. Which is past exhalevapors lousy 14 day warranty:facepalm:.

Allright!!! Varitube is offering a 90-day warranty!!! That's the best Ive seen on this Sigelei and well worth a few bucks more. Yep, things are looking up.

Yeah I got the $84.95 Sigelei kit and using the VARITUBE10 discount code brought the price down to $76.45 shipped. The batteries are starter ICR type batts so you'll want to eventually pick up some IMR's for down the road, but I didn't want to have to spend a lot on batteries right up front so I liked this idea. I already ordered an Efest IMR 18500 from Exhale along with my Protank order which should arrive this week, and I'll pick up another couple IMR's over time.

There's also not a charger in this kit, so great if you already have one, but I didn't and rather than getting the cheap one usually included with the kit, I knew I'd want a better charger so I picked up a Nitecorp i4 from FastTech for only $18.43 delivered with coupon. (I think CPASTE13SPRING was the coupon code I used there.)

And yeah, this isn't the boxed padded case, but instead an aftermarket zippered case, quite nice actually for carrying and storing the zmax, extra batteries, cartos, mini tank. It's one of those rounded zipper ones I've seen floating around with the mesh pockets, 2 on one side and one on the other. I'm actually quite happy with the kit contents and the service provided by Varitube.

I see below you already ordered today so hopefully you also found the above coupon code before you did. Enjoy!! :vapor:

I hope Varitube didn't ship your kit with ICR batteries. I suspect the batteries that came with your kit are generic IMR batts. The generic IMR 18650 batts I got with my Sigelei kit seem to be pretty decent batteries.

I have had mine since 4/18. I have really loked it till today, all of a sudden I get "SHORT" on the screen, no firing at all, shows it with different batteries and different atty's. So I guess it is finished.I have tried everything and nothing. Got an RMA from vendor no problem, sending back tomorrow and wait for a replacement. Not sure I want to try it again.

This is what my first (current) sigelei does, its a problem that is a real pain in the ... and never goes away. Where did you get yours from?
Does it read your ohm's all wacky too?

I've been considering a Sigelei zmax v3 so I'm glad I found this thread. In looking for a good price and a good dealer that seems to be selling non problematic zmax's, I came across this:

Sigelei ZMAX Variable Voltage / Variable Wattage APV

Seriously? $79 for a zmax v3 with one end cap and no batteries? I can't believe these guys are still in business. I'm not bashing them, but that is a high price compared to what I've seen for the kits out there.

Been almost a month now and the one problem I have faced post spilling a tank full of pluid all over it and having a few issues that were fixed by drying it out in the sun for a day. I keep my rig in my messenger back or small draw string bag when commuting on my bike so it gets tossed around quite a bit. something in the head(suspecting threading) has become loosened and now there is a bit of play on what ever I put on top. Can't figure out what is actually causing it but what ever i put on the top kind of "pivots" off the center pin. Not a biggie but something I noticed
