I saw that review and he kind of reamed the Semovar, or at least the Nivel chipset. I thought it was impossible to create a more convoluted menu system than the ProVari, but they some how managed.
So correct me if I'm wrong, but with a Semovar you get essentially get a ProVari with Variable Wattage and a more convoluted menu system.
I find the Semovar itself very asthetically pleasing, but the Voltage Regulation appeared to be a little bit inferior to the ProVari, and if I had to deal with constantly hitting E2 or E3 errors while setting the device I'd throw it through my TV. I'd much prefer the menu to let you "set" the incorrect value and then error out when you fire, instead of throwing the error while you adjust and making you start all over again.
I have learned from the ProVari, that sometimes you can't take someone elses word for it, but there was nothing in that review that would compel me to sell my ProVari and get a Semovar and I am one of the most vocal proponents of variable wattage out there.
