How do cigarette smokers react to your vaping?

Believe it or not I have been vaping for 3 months and have gotten better reactions from non-nicotine users than actual analog smokers. One example is at work... a lot of non-smokers are intrigued about the devices I'm using and think it's great that I have quit smoking but there is this one manager (he is a smoker) and he says things like "You shouldn't be smoking that in here" and "You don't know what's in that"

I don't know how to really explain his tone but it's like this weird vibe that he doesn't like that I'm enjoying a nice vape indoors while working and he has to outside to smoke lol. Other examples are people literally scoffing at my PV's when I vape them. Mind you, these are all smokers.

I've noticed when non-nicotine users see a mod or a PV that doesn't look like a cigarette they are more curious than judgmental. But when analog smokers see me vaping on a PV that doesn't look anything like an analog they thing it's "ridiculous" Almost like I'm off my rocker.

Is this just me?

P.S. I think this post is just about me coming to the realizations that I'm officially out of the smoking club lol.

I don't typically vape in places where you can't smoke...
What I MOSTLY get when people notice me vaping is curiousity - from smokers, too.
When out, it's just an EGO/EVOD or something like that - I still would be a little self-conscious packing my SVD/HyperTank in public!
(not that there's anything wrong with that, lol)

We had a smoking circle at work, kinda like a cancerous water cooler, where a handful of my co-workers and I would gather throughout the workday and ham it up over a stinky. First time I showed up with my eGo, I caught all kinds of flak. They got used to it. Then I showed up with my Spinner. Round two. Then my Provari. "Oh, does bigger mean it's better?!" Absolutely, Rob. Absolutely. How's that smoldering stick of crusty vegetable matter taste? I got raspberry lemonade today. Feeling a bit summery, ya know?

Nowadays it's whichever mech I happen to grab on my way out the door. Nowadays, though, the smoking circle has gotten noticeably smaller since I brought my first eGo in. Mainly because most everyone at work is vaping now. Still got a couple holdouts. I'll find a flavor they like. They'll cave. :D

I get bombarded with so many questions, I wrote a little "Intro Guide" and printed them out on DIY biz cards.

Nothing special... just what vaping actually is, the PG/VG thing and where to go (here for example) to learn and buy stuff... and what are the better ways to get started without breaking the bank. I probably hand out 8-10 a week at least.

When they see that you want to help them learn, a tiny bit of non-prejudicial education seems to take the aggression or inherent dislike right out of folks. I smoked for 45 years... I know how they think. :)

Like Train, I usually just have a iTaste 3.0 or something (with a carto tank) when I'm out. On the occasion that I take out an MVP or a big mech, like a Nzonic' with a KFL... people go a little nuts over them.

I started vaping in early June this year (45 year smoker) and so far my neighbors have been the only ones to ask me what it was. They were aware that I had quit smoking cigarettes, but they would see my vaporizer in a lanyard around my neck while I was going over the yard with my riding mower. You could tell they were wondering what the heck is that thing. He finally came over after I finished the yard and asked me what it was. His wife was with him and I told him she would probably say it's a nicotine delivery device (She's a retired RN). I showed it to them and his wife was impressed that it made it easier for me to quit cigs and that I felt so much better already, health wise. He asked "Do you have Nicotine in it or something else?", and they both laughed..

Many smokers I know have a e cig but don't think they can quit with it. As for myself I had no plans to quit. I believe I got kinda lucky with my vape choice as I realized that just after a day and a half I realized I didn't need the analogs anymore.

So, Now I'm getting a bit preachy with them. I'm telling them to go to a vape shop with a bar and try flavors until the find what they like and to choose an appropriate nicotine level. But since putting down the cigs for good has been so easy for me, I tend to believe it should be just as easy for anyone else. Probably not but since I was hard core for 35 years I figured that I never put the cigarettes down. Wow, I couldn't have been so wrong.

Anyway, I'm just trying to help those that want to quit and give 'em the best advice I can offer. And most cig smoker do say they want to quit.

I converted 2 and had 2 others try it and still are trying it along with their analogs. They all used my back-up, back-ups. No cost to them made it all the more appealing. When they saw how it helped me they knew it must work cuz' I was a hard core smoker. I get curious glances in public because I wear my PV around my neck, I just keep going on about my business. If they are interested I'll answer any question they have to the best of my ability. I'm all about supporting vapeing and educating a new person and I would definitely tell them to join ECF, lol.

I have something like this for non-smoking inquirers. I should make some for curious smokers. :)

I have had nothing but positive reactions from analog smokers. About a month ago I attended a social event where there were about 500 people. I went outside to vape with the smokers and I felt like a "rock star". I had about 20 people gathered around asking all kind of questions. Probably got some converts. I'm sure there were some anti vapors among the smokers but they just stayed to themselves.

I cook in the back of a sports bar. and i carry an evod barry and my itaste vv 3.0 (i like certain flavors on the itaste at higher volts) and some of the smokers werent that nice to begin with. "Why are you using an e-cig out here with us when you can be inside?" had the nerve to try and call me smug. i like fresh air while im working after so long. at one point i got fed up with being badgered about it ._. and said if they try one of mine and dislike it for any reason they can talk. ive been a try it before you knock it guy. and well. the turn out was good. a good amount went and started vaping.

some people dont want to ask how to get started. theyre smoking less now too. so. people just hve to warm up to it i guess. lol
