Although I posted this somewhere else just to let you know Chicago is poison right now. I had a package taken by the FDA March 21st, is was not listed on the hold list. I received my FDA letter last Friday. Package was 150 batteries and 40 chargers no juice or Cartridges. And I know of a few other suppliers who have been hit since March 20th. Very scary for suppliers right now in the Mid West since we have to go thru Chicago sometimes.

So sorry to here this Katy. It does appear that the "Coming Fury" is in fact here.

All in all, I received 14 reports from Suppliers in the last 5 days of product being seized. At this rate, product will start drying up very fast.

Sun,

can you disclose the ports of entry for the seizures? We see Chicago, and I've seen a report from NY. Any others?

This is just my opinion. I would think that the e liquid is going to be the problem. If they made this in cartridges that were tamper proof and filled to exact specifications the ecig wouldnt be a problem. That would be if it fell under tobacco regulation. If it falls under a medical device many states would not be charging sales tax on these. Medical devices are tax exempt in many states and the Govt would lose all their tax income they currenty get from cigs. I know the smoke shops here do not charge sales tax on ecigs becuase they can classify them as medical. I am thinking they probably wish they didnt beat up the smokers so much thru the years. Now there is a viable alternative that is tax free. The govt loses for now. People will live longer and they don't want that either. That will ruin social security and the new Govt health care. They need us to smoke buy lots of tobacco, pay lots of tax and die young.

The FDA is stepping up their actions now, and not just in Chicago. And we're probably going to see more of this in the coming weeks/months. A lot more.

They know best for the population, right? Contaminated spinach, anyone?

Sounds good, Jim. I think I'll have some, right after I pop these Prozac and Chantix pills. The FDA and BP, say that they are safe and good for me.

Kauai--it is across the board from Cal to NY, the reports are coming in from all ports of entry. I received two more reports of seizures from Suppliers today.

Welp, this means that the FDA panties are officially moist and we now need to start to look into the underground/black market if we're going to continue vaping.

Looks like it's time to dust off my old forum.

So, I assume that while they step up their crusade against e-cigs, they are taking man/woman power away from inspecting other "unimportant" packages.

I'll have some of that contaminated spinach now, Jim.

Question: I've seen several people mention that we could really use a lobbyist. I know on a normal basis they can be expensive, but I just ran across an article that stated many of them are now working pro bono. What are the chances that a group like CASAA or ECA could find and interest someone enough to lobby on this situation?

That would be wonderful. Can you post a link to the article or provide more information?

I order some of my prescription meds that are not covered by insurance from a pharmacy in India. I've been doing so for about 5 years. I could as easily be ordering narcotics from the same company. These packages are never opened by US customs. The reason that the meds are much cheaper is that India doesn't honor Western patents. Thus, these are certainly "unapproved medications."

I find myself wondering if we are being singled out for intensive inspection and confiscation because some of our vendors are not quietly going away but are instead becoming a headache to the FDA by fighting back.

It wouldn't surprise me. The fact that they are receiving resistance from e-cig suppliers and users, has probably left them determined to show us who is the boss and that resistance is futile.
