Good assessment on how they wick up, and work.
I know many bottom feed carto's. I never liked doing so because of the clean up of the carto/battery attachment (especially on 808's). So I top fill and use straight VG, and correct it takes time. I drop 10 drops at a time. The fliud I use id carmel colored and you can see the batting whiten out, meaning it's time to continue. So I go 10 drops, wait a few minutes, it whitens up and hit it again. After 75 or so, it will still whiten some, and I've run one up to 80 drops (which flooded it).
Yeah it's a time factor, but it's how I fly. Considering I'm going to be using them for many weeks (it appears) the time is minimal.
I've been running one 4 weeks now (and no it's not my only vape), and I tap it up when it runs down ~ 10 drops or so. I don't want that top coil drying up.
To each their own method, but I suggest filling some from the top, just to get that top coil moist....even though, to date, I've never heard of anyone saying they burnt one of these babies.
I've dissected 2 so far and the batting was perfect...
