Almost two months from the time I tried my first DC and it's still love at first vape:wub:.

Gotta say, they still rock and have completely changed the way I vape. If you read this post, have a mod that will fire 3.7-4.2v, and haven't taken the plunge yet, ya gotta try these. I still completely endorse what Stownz stated on his initial post in this thread.

I have discovered a couple of tricks in two months that ensure a great vape with these every time.

These are:

1) On the first fill, use the condom method. It's no fail. I find on the megas, 2.5 - 3 capfuls fill the DC great the first time. On the first fill let these things sit in the excess juice from the third capful for a few minutes. Blow out the excess back into the cap and pour remainder back in bottle.

2) After the first fill, you can top off dripping at an angle into the filler. Once every day or so (if you go through al lot of juice in a day...4-6ml), I do a fresh bottom fill. This will assure that the carto never really dries out.

3) When the draw gets tight, throw it into the "to clean" box (and these can be refurbed just about back to new) or in the trash. At two bucks or less, the trash isn't a real painful option.

THATS IT.

NO MUSS, NO FUSS. No modifications necessary like, de-wicking, de-bridging, fluffing, re-wicking....and the list goes on, and on, and on, and on,........

With the DC's, it's JUST VAPE (and THE VAPE IS GREAT!!!).

Thumbs up for the initial great review Stownz (and others who chimed in with their positive reviews). Thanks!

So, I got the dual coil tank mod. Fail. At least for me it was. It was sliding off it's base as I put it on my mod. I got it to stay in place but then it burned in 4 hits. I mean like nasty melty burny. Yes, it was full...yes, it really was...no, I swear it was completely full...listen, IT WAS FULL! I think the dual was defective to be honest. I've never ever burned a dual, hell, I didn't know they COULD burn. I doubt I'll try one again even though I don't think the burny melty thing was a tank fault, but the thing sliding off it's base is something that also happened with the CE2 tank and i'm just not good with that. =\

Don't throw the baby out with the bath water, B M.

I opened one up, filled it and the draw was so tight it was useless. No saving it, because the hole down the center was not open, straight out of the box. Now I look at em before wasting 70-80 drops of fluid.

But I certainly won't give up on them. When they work (and I've had 2 so far that were sub par), they work too good to just be done with them. They have a few QC issues...Ok,, don't like it but,,I can live with that.

Oh, I love the regular ones, it's the one modded into a tank I had a problem with. I'm vaping one right now LOL.

From all the stuff I had in the time I´m vaping, these dual coils for now are definitly the best. Lets hope they come soon with a jumbo version. BTW thanks for the like.

Those drops of juice are not wasted. You can recover most of it by using a reverse taryn spin. I just found out about this, and it works great! Perhaps you already know this. If so, excuse a noobie trying to share...

So how do y'all overcome the muted taste from all the enhanced vapor strength and throat hit? That's what is really keeping me off the duallies. I spent so much time finding the juices I like and they all feel and taste within a reasonable range regardless of the cartomizers I've chosen EXCEPT for when I go dual-coil. Then the vapor and TH are huge but the taste is severely muted. Suggestions? -Magnus

It really does have a different taste. I have found flavors I like in the duals, and others I like in single coil cartos.

Fruity and buttery flavors are better with a dual coil. Sharp or tart flavors work better single coil.

Applewood or Gorilla Juice are better IMO in a dual coil carto.
Maplewood or Cinnamon Red Hots are better in a single coil carto.

If it needs more TH or lacks flavor, use a dual coil.

More PG and less VG if you can't crank them up in voltage. Otherwise, just crank them up and they are insane 8)

Hey Magnus, what resistance duals have you tried? I'm finding that at 3.7v, I really like 1.25ohm for some of my tobacco and cigar flavors, (try Tabac/Alcazar/Campfire coffee @40/40/20%) but 1.5's are a bit cooler and helps retain the flavor in other juices. I even run 2.0 now on some fruit flavors at 3.7, if I put 2.0 on my 5v it seems to kill all my juices.

I received some 1.25s this morning. They are quite acceptable at 3.7v. - I've been using the 1.5s at 5.0v for weeks and couldn't be happier, but I took note of the fact that my 18650s have been for the most part unused. There are days when I would prefer not to have to bother carrying extra batteries.

Though a 1.25 at 3.7 doesn't produce nearly the warmth of vapor as a 1.5 at 5.0v, vapor production and flavor are very good. Good enough for those days when I don't want to have spare batts in my pocket, anyway.

Mentionable: The 1.25s really love a high drain battery. There is a noticeable difference running the 1.25 on my AW 2600 mah standard 18650 and my IMR High Drain 18650.

Only 1.5s so far. I like the cooler vape overall, I use Boge 3.0ohm normally. It just muted the flavor too much for me. I have ten+ more coming now to give it another shot with a reduced VG balance juice. Crossing my fingers and toes. -Magnus

You should try the 2.5 ohm dual coil cartomizers. They produce a cooler TH but still deliver the good flavor and vapor. They will give a much better hit than the 3 ohm Boges. But at 2.5 ohm, you won't get the "heat" of lower resistance.

Madvapes.com used to have 2.5 dc's up ... not sure if they re-stocked....
Can someone post a link to the smoktech 2.0 and 2.5 ohm dual coil cartomizers. All I see at alibaba and smoktech are 1.25 and 1.5 ohm. I am talking about smoktech link not a vapor store to buy them. When I go on smoktech all I see are 1.25 and 1.5.

I don't think madvapes has had any but the 1.5's in clear and steel tube. the 1.25's are only available so far at hoosier. The 2.5's have been at nhaler but he is currently out of stock. When he is in stock, they will appear in the drop down box where you select your options. Nhaler does currently have 2.0's.
