Really good to hear...I bolded (in rdsok's post) what I think is a very simple thing that shouldn't be overlooked that Chris pointed out in the video...

I got my Hyper SRT this morning...

First thing out of the box, because I had watched Chris's video... I opened everything up, straighted out the coil so it sat level with the posts and slightly straightened out the wicks... Filled with some Hush that I also got in remembering to also prime the coil... I immediately got a lot of vapor and excellent taste. I've been vaping on this since around 11am ( it's about 5:30pm now ) and it is still working perfectly.

There is very little that I can think of as far as improvements... The only thing I could think of was a cap that would allow the use of standard 510 drip tips instead of the included cap/tip combination they currently have. I was able to take a cap from one of my DCT tanks and use a big belly type of drip tip ( the frosted ming vase from GV )... and it works the same as the original cap/tip.

All in all... this is going to be an awesome tank for the advanced user crowd.

Rd i could not agree more . Really like this tank as is and also with making my own coils over anything out there at this point in time.
I would like something other than metal for a drip tip but i can live with that, perhaps i might try and cut one of my tanks metal ones off not sure though.
For the price its just fantastic.
Bye bye vivi nova it was a nice marriage . ; )

When I get home I'll link a thread with a lot of good info on modding this. It doesn't look as good as my DID, but I use it more, and for half the price of the DID I have 3 of these set up with SS.

Edit

Decided I wasn't going to be lazy, http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=312750

Hope that works.

Decided on getting one of these myself, and it's waiting for me to meet up with it when I get home (along with an E9, TBC-1, and TBC-2). Can't wait to try it out. I saw scubabatdan's mod to it for SS, and it looks like that'll really work great and would be pretty easy. I'm not going to mod mine that way quite yet (going to play with some cotton wicks first...plus I haven't any SS mesh just yet). People seem to really like this tank as it comes stock and with what you can do with it beyond that, at $16[-19 not on sale] it's hard to go wrong. The only downside IMO is that you can't use any tip you want - unless you have another tank top that fits (which I know some[many?] do).

So... What are the chances gotvapes can supply, wire, wick, and ss mesh? Id pay a markup to be able to just buy from one place, and since i spend ALL of my hardware money at your shop...

They already have the wick available, the wire was suppose to be with the wick and got missed on the order so will be in later... I've seen no word yet about ss mesh from GV themselves

Not sure if these will have the same issues pulling apart as the "ST Branded" ones but I wanted to put this up to help those who may run into this unfortunate problem when pulling them apart. They are very easy to fix as long as you don't break the wire on the top pin which may also be very fixable.

I've found that the weakest point when that pulls apart, which only happens to me when I'm drilling the wick holes, is the solder joint on the super tiny wire Smoktech loves to use...so be careful when you're getting everything seated. I use a small piece of wood and a hammer to put this back together, but I usually have to be trying to get them apart to have to worry about this.

Tell me about it. I broke the wire today after viciously pulling it apart (both ends) and had to resolder it. Put in a mesh wick also. Actually two. One inside the other. This was my first mesh attempt and I honestly don't get the hype of the mesh wicks. I seriously doubt if I am getting any better vapor or flavor with the mesh compared to regular silica wicking. I'll try one more variation tomorrow when I get two more delivered. The SRT is a fun setup to play with but I have yet to convince myself that it's any better than a Phoenix bottom coil. The only plus to mesh I see right now is the ability to go to a higher voltage without the burnt taste of regular wicking. Does seem to wick a little quicker too. Vaped myself into a butterscotch stupor :closedeyes:trying to out vape it. I've got a wild idea for tomorrows attempt. If it works I'll report back. If it doesn't I'll be stalking the Raven's.

ooops can't let the SUPER SHINY DUDES slip to the bottom :D

Mine came Monday, but I only had the pleasure of it gracing my presence finally last night. OMG shiny, yes!! It is just beautiful :)

I'm currently trying out my other new arrivals (the Phoenix RBA and the E1 tank) at present, but I'm sure looking forward to some quality time with this thing as soon as I have time to dissect and admire it a bit more.

So i wrecked my wick and coil trying to fix em...

Yanked out the coils from some of my wifes old dcc 2 wicks per at 3 ohms each! I went and bought some cheesecloth and rewicked and coiled with that stuff. Now its perfect, tons of vapor and flavor, sugar cookie tastes even better, i didnt realize the lavor was muted in what i was using.

Niiice! The one on mine had a blemish, but I'd just as soon get one of these Polypropolene tanks instead anyway. Happy to see them available.

Still haven't had a chance to try this bad boy yet - the silica break in on a couple other parts has convinced me to stay the course and just change to cotton right away. I was hoping to evaluate them stock, but I personally just find the silica too irritating by comparison now.

Check this out ...
SRT-MESH.jpg
Rolled some 325 SS mesh tight enough so I am able to use both holes the original wick sat in without kinking the mesh. Works awesome on all VG juice but not too great with 70/30. The thinner juice just wicks so quick it was always a hit like a half flooded coil. I'll try one tomorrow using 400 and see if that works better for the thinner :vapor:70/30.

I love the vision stone version one tanks but can hardly find them anymore, so I guess it is time to upgrade, I ordered one tonight and 3 wick kits. I hope this is as tough as the stone tanks.
you can always replace the head with one from a vision extreme, fluxomizer, or even a grande just have to solder the wires where the originals were lol

Is there a step by step video on how to install the replacement wick and coil. I already broke 2 new coils trying to install. The middle or lower post seems no problem, I'm having a problem with the higher post, is it better to put the wire at the top or bottom, when I tighten the screws the wire twists and then breaks. Also is there a trick to getting the wick in the holes, yes I know the replacement wicks form a point, but only on one side.
