Rolled some 325 SS mesh tight enough so I am able to use both holes the original wick sat in without kinking the mesh. Works awesome on all VG juice but not too great with 70/30. The thinner juice just wicks so quick it was always a hit like a half flooded coil. I'll try one tomorrow using 400 and see if that works better for the thinner :vapor:70/30.

What do you have to do to the SS mesh to prep it? I read somewhere that you have to oxidize it but was unable to find instructions on how to do it. Do you have to clean it before you roll it?

To Oxidize from what I have seen is get a desert torch or any torch really, heat up the mesh to red hot and then dip in water. Do that a few times to both sides and wala you are oxidizded. I have never worked with SS so I could be wrong.

Well done : ) ...this also applies for the Hyper SRT...toss this in there if you get a chance...click the filmstrip icon and it will ask you for the url for the video, then just simply copy and paste the youtube link in that appears in your address bar...

I meant to ask, what's the difference between the Vivi Rebuildable, and Hyper SRT? I know the name is different lol, but I wasn't able to see a difference when looking at the products, other than the tube.

This was very informative for me...

I don't see a need to clean it since you are getting it red hot multiple times that should burn anything off.

I put it on a safety pin, and heat it red hot all the way through, up and down, and quench it in water 3 times. Then take whatever e liquid you want to use it with and wet the wick, light it on fire, and let it burn itself out, repeat this 3 times also, each time it should take more liquid.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I got some SS mesh so I'm ready to give it a try.

Is there a step by step video on how to install the replacement wick and coil. I already broke 2 new coils trying to install. The middle or lower post seems no problem, I'm having a problem with the higher post, is it better to put the wire at the top or bottom, when I tighten the screws the wire twists and then breaks. Also is there a trick to getting the wick in the holes, yes I know the replacement wicks form a point, but only on one side.

I have not seen one. Bad said he was going to put one up.

The tall post is a weird design. I do not see the purpose of the threaded thumbscrew. That should just be a clean hole. Also two flat washers on the top would be ideal so you can just sandwich the wire lead in between the two washers to eliminate a good deal of twisting when tightening. You do have to be very careful as is. I broke a couple myself. Best advice is try to hold the wire a bit, pinching the post and wire between your fingers and be gentle tightening.

By the way you will find these in the same category where the complete tanks for these are sold...

Collect all nine, arrange them in a pyramid or even as bowling pins. Invent a game to knock them down or play BB beer pong. Stick one in each ear, both nostrils, four across your lips in your mouth, then balance the last one on your nose, take a picture and I will replace our beauty shot with your picture. Let's see, that about covers it...or you can just switch out your tubes on your Hyper SRT or 6ml DCT...
