Good deal TB.

sunset, I havent decided on a sweetner yet. I dont really prefer my snus sweet. Flavorful, yes. Some flavors are better with a sweet edge on them.
TB was using Stevia. I looked and we have no local stores that carry just Stevia.
Sun Crystals has Stevia in them and cane sugar. 5 calories per pack. Supposed to be equal to a teaspoon. A teaspoon of sugar is 15 calories and can be a bacterial warehouse when wet. I was really just trying something different.

Honey should be ideal, but it does impart a flavor that you might not want in everything sweet. So.....I was just looking , for some alternative.
Lets see what TB comes up with since he has the good stuff already.

Aspertame gives me a headache...so thats a pass for me.

Made a few more concoctions..............
Changed the volume of the sweetner to 1 packet of Sun Crystals to 10ml distilled water.
More control, less drops to evaporate off.

Made up a couple of the following. Orange Mint(50% Orange & Mint) one sweet one not.
Not bad, the flavors didnt compliment the way I thought. Maybe a diff ratio would be better. Less mint, its strong and over powering.
Also French Vanilla. The unsweet one needed 3 drops of sweetner. Not bad after the sweetner wore off as the base flavor faded.
Made a regular vanilla. Untried yet.

All were McCormicks 1oz flavoring same method as before.

I probably will keep experimenting as the urge strikes, but for now I'm liking the SnusX moistened with Stevia-flavored water. No flavoring needed. This does remind me of Ettan when only moisture is added. I've turned off to Ettan, after liking it for awhile. What was missing was sweetness, which the Stevia adds.

From recent reading of the entire World Health Organization (WHO) TobReg report on smokeless tobaccos, I now understand that TV's use of the dry SnusX is optimal. No increase in TSNAs. No microbial development in the tobacco, etc. So I make sure I lightly moisten the portions and then use them within 24 hours, keeping them refrigereated until use.

I am still intrigued by the possibility of delivering medications or nutritional supplements from within the snus. As mentioned before, I can moisten a portion with 15 drops of sublingual (liquid) B vitamins and get my daily requirement that way. It's not superior to just placing the 15 drops under the tongue, however, so this is not an improvement.

If I can just find a way to whiten teeth or deliver nutrients at the same time that I get my nicotine fix ...

P.S. Maybe I can crush pure niacin (not a timed release version) and dissolve that into the Stevia water, so that the niacin opens my arteries at the same time the nicotine wants to constrict them. War In The Arteries! Coming to a screen near you ...

TB, sounds like a plan.
My test on the moisture content of the SnusX portions is its low. I can be dried more easily and should promote longer storage for anyone wanting to stock before the CRAPPACT hits. SnusX shows an approx date of 2 yrs storage as is. If dried and then vacuumed sealed in a "Daisy Seal a Meal" longer storage would be expected. 100% dryong doesnt seem to effect the overall flavor.
If stored in smaller amounts, one could use dry or moistened as needed a few days at a time. Its really no trouble when you have the recipie you want to add.
Is the Stevia you purchase under the name Stevia , 100% Stevia, no other sugar.
My rural area has not found this so far. I can find Stevia "blends".

I tried your just adding sweetner and it works well and the cane sugar/Stevia combo I have as "Sun Cryatals" works fine and I'd have no problem with making a 20ea per tin at a time, fridge them, and live happily ever after. I'd prefer to lose the cane sugar.

I love Thunder Frosted and an occasional fruit(Orange) so the McCormicks has actually worked very well and its initial alcohol content(although evaporated off) is high enough to kill abt anything residing. lol It's not poorly priced at $1-$2 a bottle for an ounce. Thats a lot of portions!

Like your idea of the added suppliments. Regular niacin may be a little rough and give you the red face and itches for a few mins. Been there. Still a fine way for a timed daily dose.

I may look for a coffee to add to the French Vanilla, But I still have an Ettan, Thunder Frosted(mint like), Orange and Menthol that I'm very happy with and a wide variety of tastes I feel.

Hopefully others will pick up here and post some recipies of their own.

Gotta add one more thing to this thread. Last night, with a new interest in cooking, I decided to try a different approach to flavoring my dampened snus portions. I first soaked them in Stevia water, as explained earlier. Then I spread them out on a paper towel and sprinkled one line with cinnamon sugar (not cinnamon) and the second line with powdered vanilla extract.

I let them chill overnight and began enjoying them today.

Next I'm going to work on some "marinades" of flavor. My interest in mixing Tropical Drinks has given me plenty of ideas for tastes.

TB, how did the flavor last with that method?
Saturating wth the mint liquid and letting the alcohol evporate off then into the fridge lets the mint last as long the portions in. 2+ hrs.......

Interesting concept though. Seems if you found the proper amount of powder to add to the Stevia water it would saturate deeper. If you dont keep a portion in long, say over 1/2 hr, it may not be an issue.

Keep the ideas and results coming! :thumb:

I don't have a good answer to how long flavor lasts. To me, most flavored snus lose all flavor within a short time. After a few minutes, it's just a wet, tasteless tea bag in my cheek. With the sprinkled snus, I get a real burst of flavor as soon as I put the portion in place. Very pleasant. Then the flavor diminishes and the snus becomes almost tasteless, with a hint of cinnamon or vanilla remaining for up to an hour.

I often keep a single snus in use for an hour or two. Sometimes, I forget I have one in use!

These are twice as strong -- by actual measurement -- as my Stonewall, so I turn to them when a craving for smoking hits. The Stonewalls are in play much of each day, but I'm increasingly liking these home-flavored SnuxX portions.

Once the stink died down .... these are okay!

Making some good progress TB.
I like the burst idea. One could add that to a marinated portion too.
snus Burst! (note the non capital "S");)

I will commonly use a portion for 2 hrs. Some flavors hang in and some just fade or don't seem to work at all. Maybe the reason for the limited vairety available compared to other things.

Stonewall is a .... kicker for the nic. For me, it's by far the fastest delivery method other than e liquid hittin the back of my throat. Yuk............
Stonewalls just miss the "other" I need. I get their nc way to fast, but I still keep the Java around.:)
