I mentioned this yesterday, I don't have a good camera to take a closeup, but you get the idea. Was using a vision 2 clearo, long wicks.......tank was perfectly fine.
Suddenly, draw got real tight....then VERY FUNNY taste, I went to loosen mouthpiece, when I did it felt funny, so pulled it off and as you can see, it was collapsing into itself from melting, so stuff was melting and interfering with airflow...and when I touched it that side piece smeared off and stuck out. Now of course, it's solid so I can photograph.

I really wish i had a camera that will do closeups, because it's really gross.

I don't know much about clearos, but I have a Stardust and was warned that the tips tended to melt. Luckily, I heard about this in advance and bought a steel drip tip from Got Vapes. I'm glad I did - the Stardust tip melted during a chain-vape session. I discovered it when I went to pull out the tip to add liquid and it wouldn't budge. I finally got it out and it had melted up the sides to where the threads are. Even the O-ring was warped. I don't know if the steel tip will fit your clearo, but it might.

Well, I'm trying to understand why this happened.

I think it was the juice.

However, that rebuildable atty is up at the top.

For some reason, I think it wasn't heat. I think it was chemical reaction, i.e. juice. acidity. Not sure, maybe somebody else has had same experience

What do ya'll think?

Ocelot, I was thinking about different tips, but as you probably know, these vision tips do not fit anything else......so I"m thinking nothing else would fit THEM? The tip has to go down and cover up that airhole in the clearo top.....which a normal drip tip would not do.

I have heard of this happening with certain juices. There were a couple of threads some months back.

There are fancy anodized driptips especially for the Stardust. I have two of them, a pearly pink, and a greybone. I can't remember where I bought mine (but I will check), but I do know that EJuiceMonkeys.com has a pretty red anodized driptip for the Vision Stardust.

EDIT: OK, I found it. DFWVapor.com has the anodized Stardust driptips!

@Z - if you were asking about my meltdown, I think is was probably juice related. Heat helped, of course, but the sides going up the "tube" of the tip degraded. I was vaping my fav, a very intense (so I've been told) cinnamon/menthol combo. I had already ordered my Stardust when I read something about cinnamon and plastic. I thought the problem was with the tanks, so I asked the forum. What I got back was the issue was the tips, so I ordered a steel one to be on the safe side. The steel tip doesn't get any warmer than the plastic one, btw. I'm still trying to keep all the products straight, but I think "Stardust" might just be a brand name for a Vision V2 clearomizer. I could be wrong though.

ETA: The problem doesn't happen with just cinnamon, I heard about it with some juice flavors too. What were you vaping Racehorse?

ETA2: I have an older Stardust, the kind with the short wicks, so I'm constantly rocking it to keep the wicks wet. That makes the liquid have more contact with the tip as well. I wonder of that's why gotvapes only sells long wicked Stardusts now.

If it does THAT to plastic I'm not sure I want to inhale it

Hence why I avoid liquid that has a rep for cracking tanks.

It's a reaction between the juice and the plastic. Remove either one of those things and the reaction doesn't happen. I vape some of those kinds of juices, but not in polycarbonate.
