BOTH of my CE4+ tips have now melted after a day of use. All I could think of is to submit a return request to discountvapers to hopefully get a vivi nova to replace them as I have not heard of this issue with them. It should last longer than one day, especially with the standard ego battery.

kind of sucks since they were the two I ordered with my initial kit and now I have to go to the standard ego-c system since thats all I have and I dont want to go back to analogs.

See post #7 for anodized driptips. No need to trash the whole Stardust. But yes, it is your juice. Sorry to hear.... But see if you can get a replacement or whatever too.

I've been vaping mountain dew from mt baker in it exclusively. Didn't really seem like it would be that acidic...

It's a reaction between the juice and the plastic. Remove either one of those things and the reaction doesn't happen. I vape some of those kinds of juices, but not in polycarbonate.

Yes, I finally figured that out.

BTW, I was vaping luscious lime from VV

And yes, it's on the list.

It may have been VV strawberry lime cooler.....I will have to retest. I'm wondering if their key lime pie does it as well. Will have to test and get back to ya'll.

I don't think they are polypropelene, I think they are polycarbonate (NOT a good thing!)

racehorse, I wouldn't use a clearomizer, IMO. I'd use polypropolene or Pyrex, with a good Delrin or Stainless tip.

Yes, this is where I ended up. But I am sending a beginners kit to someone, so I dind't want to buy everything over again, and was just testing out the eqiupment.

I got 13 juices on Vision Ego 2.0 Clearomizers (the ones with the replacable heads) and... have not had problems with ANY of them... EXCEPT... the one I have PureSmoker Firecracker (a cinnamon based juice) on, and THAT one... the mouthpiece was swelling... expanding where it meets the silicon cover... as well as at the top near the O-ring... and... I replaced the mouthpiece but got SICK from vaping this.. including swelling in the troat.

So, you bet, will not be vaping THAT one again <g>.

The steel mouthpiece would help for sure but.... the tube was clouding over as well so, I have a different plan. Have a replacable mouthpiece in the mail that has the short wicks (can get them from Avid Vaper... is a clone but is essentially the same)... and my plan is to cut out the top of the silicone cover, removing the nipple, remove the mouthpiece, remove the tube, put a 306 Delron drip tip over the remainder of the silicone cover... and use what remains.... to drip. I have not done this yet so will have to see it if works.

Yeah, why not just use a normal atomizer to drip? Well, normal atomizers cost like $9 (I use ciscos) while I can get the replacable heads for just $2.60, and this juice has clogged up normal atomizers in the past with me so, using the visions makes this juice cost effective.

I have used this juice off and on over the past two years, dripping and in bogies, and, it has never caused me any problems. It's just that cinnamon based juice does not get along with the Vision clearomizers.

I have a couple of Vision V2 clearomizers... the one's without the replacable heads... the CE4s are a clone of these I believe and... you guessed it I had this same juice in one of these and it caused the same swelling. The mouthpieces used on both of these versions are the same.

Z

P.S. I think the problem comes from having the cinnamon based juice up against the plastic for an extended period of time... in other words... continuously. When you vape one of these some juice gets trapped way up underneath the o-ring, and this was one of the places the mouthpiece was molting. When you drip, the juice is essentially gone after you are done vaping and you do not have these problems.

My solution is going to be two-fold. I think I will not vape juice that causes plastic of any kind to "melt".

Cinnnamon and lime etc may be fine to eat, but I now have grave concerns about vaping them.

Stomachs have a number of different biological substances to digest stuff. Lung tissue seems like it would be a little more delicate.

As a matter of fact, I'm going to find something to test all juice on......cold juice. If it eats away whatever it touches, I'm certainly not going to be vaping it. I'll have to talk to some compounding pharmacist friends......they know a lot about mixing chemicals.

Hmmmmm... based on this... might just go try myself some lime. I know what cinnamon is like but have never tried any lime.

As I mentioned on my previous post, I have used this cinnamon based juice for almost two years, dripping and on boges, and it has never caused my any problems, UNTIL I put it on a vision clearo.

Okay, I just had another one melt. And I wasn't using juice that erodes anything.

These Vision rebuildables at 1.8 ohms are just not holding up for me at all.

I'm going to swap the heads out to 2.4 ohm

I'm really wondering WHY this is happening though. I am not vaping over 4.0 on the Twist!

I think I'm done with polycarb and whatever kind of tip is attached to it. Or could it be that it's a top coil device, and the coil is just so darn close to the mouthpiece?

This is very strange.

just out of curiosity - what was the juice in it when it melted?

for the past 3 days I've been using the rebuildable stardust and have completely loved it. I had it shipped with the steel drip tip which makes it a really solid advice. a weird thing though is one of the stardusts when I took the plastic tank off, I dipped it in water and wiped it out with a soft viva paper towel. It immediately turned to a frost like texture. It was completely white and couldn't be cleared up.

So, the search for a good tank continues. I have a mini vivi nova coming today and I've ordered a replacement plastic tank for the stardust. I've been nervous to clean the other one I have in fear that it will do the same thing.
