You'll always be able to get replacement batteries because they're used for many things other than vaping. That is why people here are recommending mods with replaceable batteries. You'll have two years to stock up and then every mod now on the market will be banned unless manufacturers submit applications to the FDA. Very few, if any, will do so. If they do submit an application, they can continue to sell the product for another year or until the FDA acts on the application, whichever comes first.Thank you guys. Interesting stuff. So, to summarize when my battery is dead I won't be able to get another unless it is 9 years old? When I run out of juice I can get existing flavours only as long as the recipe and packaging don't change? And that's only for two more years. After that to cover the cost of the "permit" costs will likely be out of reach for the everyday vaper?
So how about the actual act of vaping? Someone in another thread said that too would be illegal.. Hyperbole?

There are two pieces of legislation pending in Congress to change all of that. Nobody knows whether they will pass. There are multiple lawsuits on file to challenge this. They will ultimately be resolved in US appellate courts. Nobody knows how they will turn out.
Nothing has been proposed at the federal level to prohibit vaping. That's beyond the FDA's jurisdiction and Congress has not granted any agency the authority to prohibit it. Some states and local governments have banned vaping, or have proposed to ban it, in areas where smoking is prohibited.
