I wonder if that is why the same sheriff kept passing me while I was walking. They even pulled over in the center lane and watched me pass. I thought they were concerned because I was walking in the hot part of the day and they thought I was crazy. hmmmmm? Doesn't matter. I would be respectful but only cause I have 5 backups at home. They wouldn't take me alive if it was my only toot. View attachment 230761

They confiscated my batteries and atomizers because they "resembled paraphernalia"

It happens man, win some, lose some.

I have been a police officer for 14 years and some mods and parts of Mods do kind of resemble devices used to smoke .......... However, in order to be charged with drug instruments, it has to be proven that's what it's used for. As far as confiscation, go to the department and ask to get your property back. Any property we find or conficaste has to be logged into property. We cannot destroy it immediately unless the evidence is perishable (food).

I showed my fellow officers and supervisiors my equipment so they knew what it was.

Signal, I don't doubt police officers where you are will be reasonable and the system will correct mistakes of the few. But the SS soldiers where Nacon lives ... well, I'll just point out they have laws against salt on the table and can't serve large drinks in restaurants.

I vape out in the open in most places and really enjoy educating the curious folks that inquire. Everyone at work is used to it now and I even do it in the building where smoking isn't allowed with never a single complaint and if any comment is made, it's that they are amazed it leaves no odor while or after I'm vaping. There are even a couple of coworkers that have tried one of the disposable setups from the gas station. So far it has been positively accepted by everyone that's aware of what it is and how it works. As has been stated by a few other posters, just educating people you meet about it really will go a long way in minimizing situations like the OP experienced.

This may be petty of me, but I would have made a note of complaintant's license plate and reported them to the police to be sure they (the police) knew who was wasting their time... Smoke nazis (or [unmentionable substance] nazis) are one thing when they just get into your face, but when they involve the police, that's something else entirely...

That being said, I look on every incident like that as an opportunity to educate about ecigs and vaping... In my experience, assertive works much better than defensive.

I live in a pretty ignorant area in the bible belt. That being said, I hear comments all of the time when people see me vape in public. Most are things like "he's smoking a one hitter in public". A few brave souls call me out on it to my face, and I take the time to educate them.
To date I have never had any problems with local law enforcement, but I do find myself putting the device away to avoid any unnecessary confrontation.

I had some high school girls screaming and honking at me at a stop light thinking I was smoking a chamber pipe and a business man downtown almost walked off the side walk looking at me and made a very visceral gutteral sound like "Hmmmfffkkkgghhh" You would have thought I had two heads. No trouble with police so far but I live in Oregon so there's plenty of weird to go around and people are generally liberal and accepting. I always roll with my big SS PV so that might have something to do with it. I always love it when someone vaping a Blue just kinda looks at me then looks at their Blue sadly. I love to evangelize for vaping but try to be wary. I don't vape inside pulic or private buildings and try to be stealth when I drive.

Anyone who pulls up to a vehicle and starts screaming that they're gonna call the cops on them must have some sort of death wish! I mean one of these days they're gonna pull up next to a vehicle that's packed with members of a "club for shady and bad folks" and they're gonna regret it for the rest of their lives......and that's if they live thru the reaction of the bad folks......just sayin!
I've reported several drunk drivers but I've never even came close considered pulling a stupid stunt like that!
