Sorry to join this thread so late. I have been battery shopping online until I'm cross-eyed, because I too just ordered a sparkplug.

This is by far the best bargain I have seen on batteries. However other threads are adamant that a higher discharge rate is necessary for using LR attys on the sparkplug.

In a nutshell, other threads are saying that a higher discharge rate (C) is more important than a higher mah because LR attys will draw a higher current.

Can anyone please comment on this for electrically challenged?

Thanks, JJ

I'm going to go find that post and edit it .. I think someone said afterwards that the trustfire batteries are too big and won't allow you to close the sparkplug fully. I'm sorry I can't tell you the correct ones, I'm with you, just overwhelmed with battery talk and totally confused about what I need/ordered/have ... lol

That's correct.

If you are planning on using LR attys on the SP2 then the (Orange) AW IMR16340 High Drain Battery (550mAh) is the best option.

Completely understandable Cleo. My state of mind could only be described as marginal at best, with all this battery education. Here is the best reply I have received regarding the battery of choice for the sparkplug, keeping in mind that my goal is to use the sparkplug with dual-coil 510 LR cartos...

I recommend the AW IMR 16340 as well. Super-T is my preferred battery vendor because the $1.39 shipping for batteries is great (it includes charger orders too) Electronic Cigarettes and AW batteries by Super T . I'd suggest you get at least 2 batteries.

The great thing about the AW IMR is that its a Li-Mn battery... a safe chemistry battery with a very high output of current. Enough to drive dual coils well (many other batteries can't discharge enough current). The down side of the AW IMR is they aren't protected batteries... ok for you since they don't explode when they fail, but not so great for the batteries because you can drain them too much and destroy the battery (it will stop working... won't recharge).

AW IMRs are rated at 550mah, and unlike most other vendors, thats an honest rating. So with a dual coil atomizer, you are probably drawing 2.5 amps are so... the AW IMR can put out up to 4 amps, and will drive the dual coil at its max capacity. It will only do so for about 12 minutes of actual runtime.

Be careful not to run it down too far.

Thanks and goodnight y'all. JJ :)

Just Got my Spark plug, mine came with a 801 to 510 adapter and 2 510 atties instead of the juice and cartidges, only have to wait 4 hours to use though it will be a minute before my protected batteries for the thermo tube arrive

It sounds like he's running low on stuff!

EnJoy it! :)

No I emailed him and asked if I could get that stuff instead or the juice and carts though now I have and 801 atty and nothing to do with it lol

Put it up for trade...someone would probably like it, especially if it's the same BE112 bronze coloured one that they originally sent out about 18 months ago. Those were nice attys.

OK, just so I don't have to read through the whole post to verify......

RCR123a (3.7v) is for just the SP2

16340 (3v) x2 is for the thermo for 6v
17670 (3.7v) is for the thermo for at 3.7v

Questions:
Would RCR123a (3v) x2 work for the thermo for 6v
Would RCR123a x1 (3.7v) + RCR123a dummy x1 work for the thermo for 3.7v

(still very new, so forgive if the questions are redundant)

Question one, 123a batteries are the same as 16340.
Question two, probably if a dummy does exist, but why would you want to? If you use the 17670 you get very long battery life as it's a 1600mah battery.
