Okay, so I've been thinking about getting this little mod. I've been wanting to try a mod (even though I'm perfectly happy with my egoT setup). The closing on the house we were after has fallen through, so that means it frees up a little extra to splurge for this. (Not much, because we still have to move. LOL) Anyways, I've read this entire thread and it seems like positive reviews all the way (minus the batteries it ships with), but exactly what can this mod offer over my egoT (type B 2mL tanks)? How is vaping 6v better than 3.2 or 3.7? Thanks!!! :D

Thanks!!! I'm a little confused about the whole battery thing. I've seen several links to several kinds of batts. Has anyone determined which protected ones work and fit nicely for both the sparkplug and the thermo? I'm sorry, I'm just really confused by all the battery talk. LOL
your ego doesn't provide 3.7v vaping --- and i can tell the difference, also replacement batts won't near as much as ego batts and should last longer provided they are charged properly

have not ventured into the 6v vaping via therm tube

Im also looking for a good answer to this question with logic and science so I can better understand. I cant answer this perfectly because I just don't have as much experience as others, but I'll give my experience.

My preference continues to be with the 3.2v eGo-T but with a type b LR atty that I drip into. I just get the best flavor from this period, and when I blew my only one I just about cried. Next down the list of pref for flavor surprisingly is the tanks with the second baffle removed from the whistle tip, but I go through juice significantly faster than dripping.

Old Goat Mod at 3.7v with 306LR or 510 LR = morphs my favorite flavor ever so slightly. 306LR = Its a bit warmer, more floral and I swear I taste the plastic from the 306 drip tip. Ive considered ordering a bunch of different 306 tips, but Im not sure I want to invest the money there, as they seem to all be plastic... 510 LR = although it remains cool, its muting my flavor ever so slightly and I can no longer taste the TA in my mix which I happen to really like the flavor of. Both of these atties have about the same ohm as the type B ego atty - so don't know where the diff could be except the true 3.7v vaping.

In addition since I got that I've had 4 LR 510s and 2 LR 306s - 1 306 and 2 510s are already blown. My eGoT atties are workhorses in comparison. Granted a blow might have been noob user error.

I also have a PIF 3.7 box mod I got from LuLu. She sent it with 3.6v batteries, so i thought there might be a slight difference, but I cant get it to fire. I'm messing with that today.

I cant speak to 6v vaping, but Im going to presume its bigger vapor and flavor morphing as well. My logic tells me higher volts = quicker atomization, but that could be totally flawed. Maybe for the better? I dont know. If only a .5v different degrades my flavor in my mind I cant imagine 6v would make it better, but who knows.

Can anyone shed better light on the real differences??

Well I got mine yesterday too and it's strange having the button on the bottom. If nothing else, this little mod saved me from spending $150 for a p10, which I really wanted, but it has the button on the bottom and I have discovered I don't really like the bottom button. It's very awkward and I almost need to use two hands to use this.

I also got an extra end cap and atty cap for the thermo, so when the batteries arrive, I'll have two complete units -- well, once I get another atomizer. I got 3.6v 800mAh batteries too, but not going to complain, since I will replace these with protected ones once they arrive.

And my box wasn't taped shut either .. strange.

But all that being said, it vapes pretty nicely. Luckily, I had some empty 801 carts because the pre-filled are awful. (The liquid too) If anyone likes these, PM me for a freebie. I'd say all in all, not bad for $34 shipped.

Okay just ordered my first mod! Now I am a little confused. Does this do 3.7v on the SP right out the door? On the Thermo do I have to buy special batteries to vape at 5.0v? Thanks!!
Yes, the SP2 is 3.7v although he sent me 3.6v batteries (I emailed him). The Thermo needs two 16340 3v protected batteries and it's 6v not 5v.

Thanks! No way to get special batteries to make it 5.0v in the Thermo?

it comes with 2 3.6 unprotected batteries - they are NOT to be used in the thermo ......

as to using them in the sp2, that's in the individual's hands ...... i'm using mine
And why on earth would they send unprotected batteries??

you probably can achieve 5v with a 3.7v battery plus lr atty

And why on earth would they send unprotected batteries??

that's the way they were sold and they had no problems with them ..... remember, even protected batteries can fail !!!! if not handled properly or are of low quality

Thanks!! Also what battery is Lynlee using in her SP? It's an AW but I can't make out which it is. I just want to make sure I get a top quality, safe 3.7 Battery that fits. Thanks!
