Cobalt blue, which is an incredibly rich darker blue. :)

Cool.............that's the color I would get. I just don't know if I should only order the tube since I'm not sure the kit will benefit me much. I could probably get a protected battery for that extra ten dollars. lol

I was thrilled that it was dark blue .. I didn't really like that light blue that shows on the site, but ordered it anyway. The dark blue is really classy looking. Its a metallic cobalt and it is very nice. I'm using mine with an 801 cart (I had some laying around) and it produces awesome vapor. If you pm your address, librarising, I can send you a couple carts. I accidentally bought more than I will ever need.

The only problem I am having is that the atomizer doesn't screw all the way into the atty cap, so theres like a 3 or 4mm gap .. is anyone else having this problem? I wonder if I should email him about it. It kinda bugs me, cuz it looks like it's not on there, even though it seems to work just fine. I'm using the original batteries, although I did order some protected ones.

It's a lovely blue and yes, classy looking, and the metallic look is actually the shiny vinyl of the skin.

As to your atty end not screwing in properly...I had that problem for some reason and when I took out the battery, the washer and brass pin came loose. Make sure that they are seated properly in the atty end, so the brass pin sits straight against it. Screw it on without the adapter, than screw on the adapter and last your atty or carto. See if that works. If there is a gap there shouldn't be. Remember he has a 30 day money back guarantee.

Wow! Been reading this thread so much interest. Never tried a mod before so I'm a little lost.

I'm thinking of ordering this kit, with the 510 atomizer, 901-510 thread adapter, and then using 510 cartridges.

But I'm also a little confused, do you NEED the atomizer? What if you want to use a cartomizer? Surely the atomizer is useless then. Could you pop a 901 cartomizer onto this thing right out of the box?

If i wanted to use the 510 cartomizers I just need the thread then?

Does the atomizer over the cartomizer really taste that much better and give that much more vapor production compared to a cartomizer on this thing?

I want to order mine tonight...some advice please would be amazing. I'm overwhelmed.

Gona fish for that current best protected battery + charger deal
also...and if i get 6v batteries, of course I'd need a lower ohm cartomizer right? And cartrides + atomizers have no effect on the volt setting? So much to take in..but this thing looks sweet. 2.8-3.0 is best for 3.6-7v though right?

LegioX - the threads on the sparkplug are 801 .. so you would need an 801 to 901 adapter to use a 901 carto. (Or a 801 to 510 to use a 510 carto)

Personally, I think you get better taste/vapor with a carto than with an atomizer and cartridge. I'm sure there are others who would disagree, but it's personal preference, really.

Hope this helps ... I just came by to post a pic of my sp in between my other two favorites, the Go-Go and the Ego :

I did it. I pulled the trigger. Checked my bank balance before grocery shopping yeaterday, and my fed tax return had been deposited Friday. Not a lot, but $256 was enought to pay the phone bill lol - AND buy this little uinit. Got a blue one (blue!) and of course I had to throw in the 510 adapter so my other hardware would work. I'll be using the batteries that come with the unit - and hoping for the best. They'll have to be enuf till I'm working steady - then I'll get batts for the tube extension thingy and some protected ones.

(I have no will power...but it was blue...)

Thanks for the info cleolove. The blue is the one that I want to order! What exactly is your setup there, do you have an atomizer attached? Thats where I get confused. Or is that just a long cartomizer? I'm assuming the atomizer is left out of the equation when using a cartomizer.

So all this really is, if using a cartomizer, is a manual KR808-D1 battery. The only difference is battery life and size/shape, but with the ability to upgrade it to 6v and options of dripping etc. etc.

Is that the jist of it? Not bashing, seems very cool. I use kr808-d1, but would much prefer this for reasons stated. The fact that it doesnt look like a cigarette will also help me forget why I am even using this thing in the first place haha

Thats exactly what I'm looking at Eighttrucktires. I might get a couple of the cartridges too to see what they're about.

But what exactly is the point of a separate atomizer? If people are just going to screw a cartomizer onto this thing, why all the fuss over cartridges + atomizers. Is there an advantage?

Will dual coil cartomizers work with this? It says it needs 2 amps or more to work effectively on a 3.7 mod...are there batterys that size that will fit?

I just bit the bullet for my SP today. I'm just going for straight silver and I got an extra endcap and button. Right now I'm a bit lost on batteries for making the 6v part. I'm leaning towards the tenergy lifepo's. I've seen people love them, hate them, and say they are the same as AW's li-ions. This is the battery kit I'm thinking about getting:

Combo: Smart Charger + 6 pcs RCR123A 3.0V (3.2V NOM) 750mAh LiFePO4 Rechargeable Batteries.39003, rechargeable batteries & battery chargers

Thoughts?

The manufacturer recommends the Tenergy 900mah batteries for the Thermo. The price of this kit is good though. :)

I am using the 801 atomizer that came with the starter kit, and an 801 cartridge that I filled with my own juice. It comes with a five pack of filled cartridges but the taste was awful. I had some blanks (many many blanks) laying around so I just filled one with one of my favorite juices and wa-la .. vaping away. I'm still waiting on my adapter to arrive from Good Prophets, where they sell them for .99 cents. I'm too cheap to pay 2.99 for an adapter. lol Then I'll be able to use my 510 or 901/808d cartos on it and it will be much shorter.

99 cents sounds like a good deal haha. I honestly have no idea how the cartridge + atomizer works, without leaking and making contact with each other etc. but thats ok. If I can use a cartomizer for now that should be sweet. I'm going to order the kit, and those tenergy batteries, and some dual coil cartos from madvapes! they should work.

Now the thermo tube that it comes with..does this screw into the 801 connection of the spark plug unit itself? That I would put a 510 adapter on the end of that? and then a 510 carto on the end of that?

The thermo tube that comes for free is all I need to use the starter kit at 6v with the right batteries right? I'm started to understand a little bit...lol

The link back on page like 10? I was wondering what that charger was for but I assumed it was for the 3.7 ones. The tenergy batts have a related charger smart charger product if you scroll down thats the one im getting. not sure exactly what protected means, but they seem not to overcharge and all that good stuff, how would you tell if they're protected?

recap -

1 801 atty comes with the kit, plus 5 carts - if you want 801 cartos you need to buy them

if you want to use your hardware and/or cartos you need to buy an adapter - 801 to 510 and 801 to 901 available

if you use an adapter or protected battery there will be a gap. this can be eliminated by filing down the stem of the brass pin

or you can put a trim ring in that gap to cover it - see my pic

sky, the kit comes with 801 atomizer and carts, lots of people like the 801 atty
also, the kit comes with the thermo thrown in - that's a lot of stuff for the extra 10 bucks
