Bought an njoy about a month ago and haven't had a .... since other than 1, piss drunk at 2AM last week in a justifiable drunken experiment...I wanted to see if people who said they tried a smoke after vaping were exaggerating when they say they couldn't finish it. They're not, I got half way through it and put it out. Any way, back to my nuckin futs other half. She's been busting my chops about this ecig thing, saying I just have to quit anything out right. I told her I was considering an eRoll and cited the money saved, no smell on my breath or clothes, the fact I feel better etc. All I can say is she was yelling something at me as I shut down and did the typical male zone out and wait for their lips to stop moving and look away. I'm guessing that I'll just do what I want and accept her occasional ridicule and lame threats to break it or throw it out. As the sole earner in the family I respond to that one with whatever, I'll buy a better one with OUR money...I'm thinking of trading her in for a vaping hottie, but she's the mother of my children. Anyone got a better idea?

In the first place - why would you allow anyone to yell, ridcule and threaten. Did she do this before you married her - if so, shame on you. If not - still shame on you that you allow it. Appears she has no respect and children hear this and think its ok.

Anyway, that would be THE day anyone told me I could or couldn't vape and had to quit. I would never put up with someone yelling, threatening, etc, etc. Lifes too short to put up with that sort of thing. Seems the younger generation thinks they have to.

First, to the vape issue. I would tell her that quitting is a process and this is the first step and will already provide both financial and health benefits. If she doesn't like it too bad. You are quitting smoking for yourself and will do it your way.

Second, on the topic of yelling. My wife is naturally loud anyway and at times will yell even when we aren't in an argument. I personally hate yelling but when she gets too loud I will bellow, and I am talking a windows rattling, paint peeling, ogre bellow. But I only bellow ONE word...either "hey" or "enough". Then back in my normal calm voice I say I am not yelling at you, please don't yell at me, and then we continue the discussion in a more civilized manner.

I'm naturally soft spoken and don't like loud noise. Two of my three children are the same. However, my youngest was loud from the moment she was born.

One time, when she was in her early teens, she raised her voice to me. I told her not to dare yell at me. Her response? She informed me that that was her normal voice. That she had been whispering her entire life.

And, she was right. The other kids I could tell to talk softly. My youngest just couldn't do it. So, I had taught her to whisper instead. And, I had taken it for granted all those years, until that day.

I'm just curious. Does the wife have any addictions of her own? Shopping, eating, . . . . ?

Her mom is 2 miles away and her best/only friend. All they do is shop. I don't judge, nor ever even mentioned it outside of right now, but I couldn't spend 2 hours a year alone w/my mom...

just tell her that you don't plan to quit "smoking" just changing the device, and if the budget spent is about the same there shouldn't be any real issue worth complaining.
whenever somebody told me to quit smoking I told them that I had no intentions in the near future and they mostly leave it at that, it shouldn't be different with vaping (not making any points on how safer or better it is, those are extras)

My only advice:

imagesCAXYR4MQ.jpg

Tell her back off and let me take one step at a time. My wife was more than supportive (though she does poke fun that I seem to hit my PV incessantly)... but she tells me constantly that she prefers and is glad I'm happy with vaping.

Aside from the above nugget of wisdom... Why don't you grow a pair and tell her whats, what. :)
