So clone or authentic am I crazy to think that when I buy something I should get it, clean it and be able to use it?

It just seems like with toppers there is to much fidgeting except for my R91's. And the only reason I still look at tanks is because I want to have access to the build when I still have liquid in the tank.

Am I nuts for thinking it should be that simple?

In my description of the problem I explained that pictures would not show the problem since it was an internal problem with the 510 pin.

I've purchased quite a bit from FT over the last couple of years & I'm sure they would hate to lose me as a customer. Sometimes I'll place 4-5 orders a month & each order is $35-50.00 or more.

I know exactly how you feel. I was going to take apart one of my Kayfun's to use the 510 post gasket, but suppose I tear it. That would ruin a good atomizer & what would I do if/when I want to use it again? I'd have to remove the gasket from the SR or buy a new gasket.
whtfang, did you have to attach any pics when you submitted your tickets? I keep buying stuff to make this thing work, and I could've bought something NICE with all the money I've spent so far. Plus I could buy a really nice mod with the credit I could get for this POS.

I admit I wasn't interested in the v3 Rose. The v2 is my favorite atty. No fancy builds on mine, but great vapes.

One has the single, diagonal build and the other has duals.

Off topic for the thread, but for those looking at the squape r, don't forget about the rose. It will give you access to the build with out emptying the tank also.

I got a steal on an authentic in the classies last week and it's killing my kayfuns and Squapes. Having both juice and airflow control make a big difference, especially on dna40 builds.

I think I said that 20 pages ago :D

And now I just ruined an Erlk cleaning it! I've never had a plastic tank come apart soaking it in isoprpyl alcohol!

Maybe I should just stick to the Roses, kayfuns, taifun and Lemo.

This thing is like one of those Chinese torture puzzles, where everything has to fit together perfectly with no tolerance whatsoever.

The plate that the 510 pin screws into is loose and wobbly until you get it pinned down by the deck, which has to be pushed down completely, so you have to make sure the o-ring that secures it is nice and tight. Mine is so tight that I can't even get the deck off now.
Then, I'm not sure about this one yet, but I think the lip inside the chimney further keeps the deck assembly pushed down via the deck screws - which is kind of janky, cuz once that finish gets scraped off, you're kind of screwed.

Then there's the pin. The supplied 15mm pin will screw in, and if barely tightened with your fingernail, will sit just a hair above flush without wobbling. But how anybody would think that that teeny tiny o-ring would suffice in anchoring the pin during use, even two or three, is beyond me. Seriously, I don't see how they can say that the pin is adjustable. That's why I think they left a piece out. So I ordered one of those KFL insulator things to shove into that 510 hole, like the fix we saw a little earlier - not to mention all the other stuff I've already tried to shove into that hole that didn't hold for very long. I might also get a 16mm cheesehead screw and grind the head down to fit. And if that doesn't work, I'm all done with this thing.

I never put any plastic tank in IPA just not worth the risk, the dreaded cloud or cracks could appear.

There are so many variations with materials used between orginals and clones it's like a lottery.

Even ultrasonic cleaning has damaged some tanks. A 1 week old original Erlk co poly tank seemed ok on inspection, 3 mins in the cleaner, remove it left it to dry then noticed the tank hand gone discoloured and cloudy in places :(

Just wash then in water its better to be safe than sorry!

anyone have the Coppervape version? just curious as they are the only ones I know of making a "nano" tank for the SR...

As far I know, it's the Coppervape version I have, and it's been absolutely stellar for about a month now I think. Reason I can't say for sure, is that I bought it from a guy on another forum, but it's in the plain black box, with 3 decks, as I've been able to google that the Coppervape version is - can't say if it's a clone of clone though :D
But working great, only downsides is that one of the "deck screws" (where you fit the screw that holds the wire) comes loose when you remove the coil, and I can see a sharp line where I'm guessing the deck rests against the chimney, as in the "ematal" might be wearing off.
I love the vape and the ease of use though, so much that I'm strongly considering getting a few originals when they're in stock again.

So is it usable? I have 5 clone tanks with plastic sections and never had a problem :(

I dunno, Roxy. If it would do that with alcohol, think of what it could do with e-liquid. If it were me, I wouldn't use it. Maybe it was cheaper plastic, like acrylic. I heard IBTankd sells glass tanks for the Erl. I usually just soak overnight with Dawn, and use my tiny Plackers dental brush to clean out stems and tiny openings.

The IBTanked glass doesn't fit this clone.

The worst part is it was a gift. That makes me feel worse :(

The cloudy tank seems ok structually but given its most of the erlk (visually) it was annoying, so I just ordered a couple of original metal, frosted glass and co poly tanks.

I just ordered a clone erlk as I like the original so much (I seem to work in reverse);) after dozens and dozens of clones I just don't have the time to work out all the prbs.

The Squape R clone I got seems pretty good it's not really my kind of tank will have to wait and see how the Taifun GT-S is.

That's a drag Roxy! When it rains it pours!

Do you have the stainless tank?

No, if it had the stainless I would use it. There don't seem to be extra tanks you can buy for the clones.

Its not cracked so I suppose I can use it. It will just be ugly.

Just wrap it with vinyl. I have a lot of translucent red, if you want some. Or some opaque carbon fiber. I do that with some of my glass tanks, cuz I'm a klutz and I get nervous.

I know it doesn't help now, but I am sure you will see metal or even maybe glass tanks from FT in the not so far future.
