I was at a rock concert years ago. I was of legal drinking age and I was going back to my seat with beers. I saw a cop standing alone in the back. As I past him I smiled and said hello. He then asked me to see my ID. I showed him my ID and went along my way, but I learned it wasn't even worthwhile to be friendly. I should have avoided eye contact and ignored him if I wanted to avoid a hassle.

once i stopped doing things that put me in the headlights of law enforcement, i find there is no problems with interacting with them. these days i am usually the one pointing them in the direction of wrongdoers. simple quality of life issues. i also own 2 very large pit bulls who i would do a disservice to if they were to die of anything but old age. so my policy. come over for coffee any time you want. want to look inside my house?, no problem nothing to hide. look inside my truck?, no problem nothing to hide. way less stressful that way.

I got pulled over by a city cop while using my v-max about a year ago because he thought I was "using drug paraphernalia while driving" his words. After a lengthy explanation and a tutorial he wanted to know where he could pick one up for himself. I gave him a few ideas and let him know where the local b&m was so they could explain some of the less expensive starter equipment. All in all my most pleasant experience being pulled over.
Absolutely wonderful!

Never been stopped since I started vaping, But normally they are too busy worried about if I have my firearm on me or not. It comes up when they run plates/license if we have a license to carry. Know your rights and only give them what they need to know. and if your not being detained ask to be free to go.

I went to the courthouse yesterday with my aunt to help her with jury duty paperwork. English is not her first language, and was afraid about not being able to understand the procedings if she got choosen. Anyways, we had to go thru the metal detectors, and I had my Vamo with me. Put it in container with my keys, etc. The guard looked at it, picked it up, and asked me how much battery time do I get with this ? I was shocked and said I get about 19 hours. He was surprised and started to pull his ecig from his pocket, but then realized there was a line behind me. I am sure if we had time, we probably would have talked a lot about our ecig experiences. And the other guard at the other end of the metal detector just looked at it and said that that is one big thing.

I guess down here in my area, vaping and ecigs are pretty popular, and it seems law enforcement down here has become educated on the subject. :vapor:

Know your rights.

Exercise them.

I just watched this whole video. I'm very glad that I did. I like that the officer gave his POV at the end, ...and it was the same!

I have great respect for LEO's.

I don't have any vape stories.
But I used to RYO (roll your own) smokes and I have had to break my cigarettes in half to prove it was tobacco and not (OTHER STUFF).:p I had to do that at a stop light once, and the cop next to me said "Ok good, I was about to pull you over when the light turned green". :D

I disagree with some of these points. I have been profiled by the fuzz, pulled over, brought in for a forced blood draw, during this forced draw they had my car impounded. I passed the field sobriety test, i passed the urine analysis, my blood was 100% clean. The reasonable cause these ***holes gave to get a warrant to TAKE my blood!? I acted nervous when they pulled me over. They profiled me for my long hair, beard and my hemp jewelry. I was not speeding, or breaking any traffic laws. I literally was just passing by, fully aware they were doing a speed trap. They said I acted nervous when they pulled me out of the car. $350 to get my car back, license suspended for a year for refusing to give blood, $500 for a lawyer who berated the cop on the stand and got the case dismissed. I had my license back within 5 months. Our of pocket over $850 plus the monies to take cabs, buses and pay friends for rides to work. They were mad they pulled over a sober (over 2.5 years) person, and wanted to try and get me on anything. They emptied my car before having it towed. Please, I know they are not all bad, but I am a law abiding, compliant citizen who was mistreated by power mongering sonsab*tches. They are not all like this, and most people do do something wrong to have to deal with them. This is just one of my experiences. Dont defend them, they WILL harm the innocent for money.

Holy smokes Lsdaddy!!! If that happened to me or a friend/family ...I dont think I would ever get over an injustice like that! Sounded like a nightmare.
As a fellow long hair, I'd love to know what town that was so I can steer clear.

Tucson, it's a dry heat
You are right. The fact that DHS has purchased 2 BILLION rounds of ammo in the last year (enough to fight a full-scale war like we have in Iraq and Afghanistan for 30 years straight

That ole bit?

Do you have any idea how much ammo one BP agent goes through just to qualify their weapons multiple times a year?? And how many BP Agents are there? You do the math. And before you start ranting about how they are "unnecessary hollow points", understand that they practice and qualify with the same ammo they would use in the field.

Also, they ORDERED "billions of rounds", but I understand that due to budget cuts, they did not complete all the orders. There is a difference between ordering and actually purchasing.

well I'm glad there are a few of you that live in states run by the people where the police officers are still respectful. Here in sunny Los Angeles you'd be able to stereotype 99% of the residents as a suspect, and it happens. Not entirely on the same level as NY, but I've had some friends pulled over as felons (different more agressive stopping procedures), but if a citizen doesn't run why the hell is such agression needed ?

As for the majority of you who think the good Ol' USA will never be a military state I think you should look into the news for the past 10 years and then consider where the next 10 are heading. And please look into how private american corporations are "testing" their products in other countries... for instance the billions we (USA) gave to mexico for facial tracking cameras in their public streets. Coming to soon to a traffic light near you!

I get pulled over at least once a week since my local PD hates me. I leave my ProVari in my center console cup holder, its a habit, and they always see it, and they always ask about it. And I never get a ticket when I get pulled over because it's just a BS reason so they can attempt to search my vehicle. I keep forgetting to sue them for harassment. Any who, when they ask what it is I tell them and they are usually like "oh, cool I've never seen an e-cig like that before." One time I reached for it to show him and he freaked out and yelled at me. Another time I think I may have converted one of them, I told them (them because there are always at least two cops when they stop me) where to get one, what to get and what not to get, and told him to come to ECF. Some times they are understanding and interested, other times they think its an explosive with an blue LED count down timer, and some times they get ...... when I reach for it.
