I both freely vape, and stealth vape in my office. My bosses know about it, and dont mind my doing it (at the last office I was in, they would smoke in my office *eek!*), and when customers are around I just stick a sharpie cap on the end and stealth vape. They all think that I am an ex smoker who is hurting, it is awesome.

Just make sure to hold in long enough, and exhale through the nose. The only smell that there should be is a light wafting scent of what ever you are vaping. If you are vaping atomic cinnacide it will be a light cinnamon, a buttered rum? Then it will be a light sweet buttery flavor. Nothing more. It dissapates rather quickly, so there should be no worries.

There were only about a dozen smokers in our apartment building before the ban to stop us smoking in our units. That means there were ten times as many folks "allergic" to tobacco. I'm enjoying vaping away in the public rooms for the first time. The non-smokers smell cookies for the most part. The way gossip is generated around here, there are no gasps anymore.

The smoke detectors are incredibly sensitive here, to the point where I had to move the toaster oven. However, we haven't set them off, even when more than just I alone vape.

Ummm, 'SCUSE me? You were banned from smoking in your own apartment? WTF? I mean, I can see the point, to a POINT, fires that can kill everyone in the whole building, but COME ON!!

YOU CAN'T SMOKE IN YOUR OWN HOME?!?!??! 8-o

Thank GOD I'm now a VAPER, not a SMOKER...the social stimatisms are making me SICK...:nah:

Sorry, rant over, back to your regularly scheduled thread...:)

I totally stealth vape at work. I work at a pharma company (lulz) and we have nice sized cubes, so I just turn my cabin lights off and vape away. Nobody catches me. I haven't told my director about vaping, I think she'd have a fit, so I'm strickly stealthy. Nobody has said a word to me about it. I drip VG too, so I have quite a bit of vapor. It's all good. :D

People have surprised me a couple times in regards to being able to smell it. I was outside onetime with my father shortly after getting my first 510. I was vaping strawberry and he asked me what flavor I was using because it smells berryish, like strawberry. That floored me because we were outside. Anytime my mother is around whether in the same room or across the house, she always knows what flavor I am using lol.

Then of course, there's always the stealth juice, which is manufactured to produce little to no vapor. A few companies (well, one at least, Dekang) makes juice with this claim, and a few others are exploring it. There are other threads on this board discussing this at length.

Personally, I'd love to have one setup that was stealth that I'd use to just get past the nicotine urge, and another setup for the full 'smoking' experience. I'll bet there'd be little to no opposition to e-cigs if there weren't clouds of vapor associated with the practice.

I think the 'vaporless' liquid is brilliant myself Tmbrown. Any idea who the vendor is that's carrying it? I've heard it DISCUSSED on ECF, but I didn't realize they were actually DOING it yet.

I agree that it'll go a LOONG way in helping with the ban and the public's ideas about PV's.

Well, as I mentioned, Dekang sells 'stealth' juice in a variety of flavors, through their normal sales channels (distributors and directly, I think). My experience with the flavors is that the flavored versions aren't very stealthy, but the original, labeled 'Tobacco Special', which I've always purchased from Misteliquid.co.uk (Britain), does work, at least in my setup (JStick, 801 atty). The original 'Tobacco Special' is actually some kind of menthol, despite what the name says. If you take a drag, fully inhale it, there is little to no vapor on the exhale, although you do get a fairly strong TH, probably helped along by the menthol. My experience with 510 atties and this same juice tells me that the hotter burning 510 is not as stealthy as the 801. Hope that helps.

they can't set off smoke detectors as far as i know because i vape all the time at my work and home and no smoke detector has ever gone off.

i usually just let people know what it is if i notice someone giving me a funny look when i vape in public places. i haven't had too many people flip out yet

It won't, there's nothing in exhaled vapor to attract a smoke detector. UNLESS YOU'RE ON A PLANE. THOSE ones also have a 'laser eye' that can 'see' smoke. If you're vaping on a plane, make sure you hold it in for a while before exhaling.

That CAN be done ANYWHERE and that's the method I use if I don't want to be fielding questions...;)

Thanks tm! Well, let's hope Geoff at Tasty Vapor gets the 'recipe' for COMPLETELY stealth liquid. I'm sure it'll be out there one day, now, whether or not I'd BUY it, is another question altogether...;)

I don't stealth vape much in public places....yet...I guess being a week into this, it still doesn't feel quite natural yet. Vape in the car constantly, and in heavy traffic I just hold it in my fist so I don't get weird looks.
I'm a little paranoid of being judged, I admit it. :D

Raven B - I am gratefully borrowing your sharpie cap disguise! Hate that dang blue light, grrr.

OK I will admit I vaped in the ladies room between midterms today. ;)
