Stirring vs shaking

When you are working with small batches and working in a small bottle, 10ml, what is required to get a proper mix? Stir it? Shake it? What if there is not much head room?

Shake it, let it sit and mello, shake it some more.
Anything that doesn't mix shouldn't be in there anyway

Another way is to (if you have one) draw some into a syringe, then squirt it back into the bottle. Repeat several times and it'll be mixed.

I always leave 0.4ml space in bottle -- it allows me to shake it.
Or add more flavorings to it if needed.

So when the DIY calculator ask you the bottle size or the amount of juice you are making -- subtract out .4

I always place the freshly mixed bottle in a glass of hot water from the tap for 5 minutes or so, take it out of the glass and shake vigorously. It always seems to mix much better when warm.
