great info. no doubt that some of the retailers of equipment and liquids won't like it much. that valuable info could really cut into their bottom line. I wonder what the markups in just wasted equipment and overpriced liquids would add up to. well done. wish I had read that, before. lol

Lol, they make about $3 for every 5 cents they spend...u do the math...it's a TON :D

What bothers me is that they hoard information, keep people blind, and are making a killing on this stuff, and then they fear monger everyone into believing that vaping is threatened from this or that, which drives up demand. They just don't want any realistic accurate info getting out. Anyone with a computer, an internet connection and 3rd grade education can see what they pay anf the margins are. as with anything, there are a few exceptions, but not many. DIY is probably one of the best things I ever did in vaping. I buy liters for what a few small bottles would cost. and the venders are pretty uptight and elitist about anyone finding out how to do it for yourself.

True but you rly can't blame them for trying to make $... I wasted a ton of $ too in the beginning, was costing me $3 a day to vape 3ml, now I can vape as much as I want and it costs 10 cents a day at most.

Just wanna add a few suggestions for some mods...

$50 or less:
This is what I have now and love it, got mine on a 2 for 1 deal, got the kit in the link plus another newer model body w/ ohm checker for $32 shipped. They're sold out now but you can get the kit here at least for $30 V8 Gripper Starter kit - VaporBreak
Awesome lil pv, 1800mah last me all day no matter how long I'm up and it goes up to 6 volts. Had it about a month now, been working flawlessly. There's lots of ways to go obviously for this type of budget but I did a ton of research into it and I feel like the v8 is one of the best replaceable batt pv's out there and it's cheaper than most. Even if it only last 6 months it's still a great deal. If you want a backup that uses the same 18350 batts you can also get one of these mech mods and there's your $50: http://www................../China-GG_p_149.html or http://www.smokerevolt.com/The-Paladin-Tube-Mod_p_400.html. A mech mod btw is a mechanical mod w/ little to no electronics (some have 2 wires for the button) - great for a backup since it's much less likely to ever fail. Basically it's just a battery in a tube w/ a firing button...gotta use it w/ LR stuff though.

$100 budget:
Most ppl will tell you to get an evic, vamo or lavatube...can't really say anything about those other than for $100 if the electronics fail you're outta luck being as they're made in china and not rly backed by any kind of warranty...imo you're much better of getting this, it's made in the u.s.a and from what I hear is virtually indestructible AltSmoke.com | Personal Vaporizers | Electronic Cigarette | Ecigs | Silver Bullet - Silver Bullet - Starter Kits
You can make it a kit w/ batts and a charger and there's your $100. For $40 more you can also add a kick to make it variable voltage AltSmoke.com | Personal Vaporizers | Electronic Cigarette | Ecigs | The Kick by Evolv
The great thing about that is if the kick fails you can just replace it and won't be out your $100.

$150+:
Most ppl will tell you to save up a little longer and "just get a Provari"...personally I'd do the same but get a Reo instead. Reo Grand if you want VV.

I'll pm caridwen...maybe she can add this to the op.

:)

darkhood.......thank you for all your information.....it really helped me. I was doing exactly what you said not to do.I was telling myself no more ciggarettes only vaping and was so stressed out.......I am using the cartomizers and am glad to hear of better options. I have a 30 year habit of smoking Marlboro reds. It is so hard to quit. I started with tobbaco flavored cartomizers and found I really like the coffee flavored. I'm going to check out your suggested links......thanks again for all the help it was just what I was looking for.

You're welcome, glad it helped. Thx Caridwen for adding mod info btw. Wish I could still edit this myself...there's a couple links I'd like to add and fix the LF link but oh well no biggie.

I'm still rocking my little Volt. Trying to talk hubby into a Vamo for my bday in May. Still want to carry my Volt in public though. The Vamo is more of a home-use thing.

If u wanna get away from the volt and pre-filled cartos this is a great lil kit for "stealth" vaping on the go (first thing I ever bought after the 21st century kit and I still use it w/ a 306 dripper when I go out) - KGO batteries 1100mAh

Ignore the name btw, the link's right. The keychain attachment's worth its weight in gold...

I want a vamo for my birthday too...

have you seen anywhere that sells the little ego clippy for lanyards? I wanted to make my own beaded lanyard or something
or sew one. or knit one.

idk the one I got came w/ that kit, it slides over the batt - its in a C-shape and comes w/ a lil ringlet thing that clips on...I'll upload a pic fer ya if u want but that kit is a rly good deal if ur looking for accessories and somethin to take w/ u when ur out n about,

In a van ............down by the river

I think you think this means something entirely different.

Pretty good OP, but too much of a sales pitch for me.

"Get this because I said it's great"

Try more to educate and inform, rather than shoving your opinion down everyone's throats.
I'll give you points for a good effort though.

And please don't call any more girls ugly and unattractive.

I wasn't calling her ugly and unattractive....used the word wrong, ur right. She's fine tho lol, in my contacts and pm's me so there's that.

I wrote my opinion and said it was my opinion repeatedly, there's no sales pitch lol - buy what I recommend or don't it makes no difference to me - I just suggested what I personally like is all and I made it a point to say that over and over, IMO is in that post maybe ten times. There's a whole bunch of straight information posts around here and I was just trying to give ppl direction by expressing my own take on everything and I recommended specific products because they're what I've used and liked personally is all. Take it or leave it.
