Hey guys. Just watched a video by Scott about the Olympus Hybrid Atomizer. Not really interesting, but it had one great feature...a ceramic cap that rests between the two posts, over the air channel, where you can rest your wick/coil so you don't have to raise it (u can see it at the 10:45 mark). I think that's a brilliant idea since my coils always get pushed down at each juice swap/wick rinse, have to raise them back up, and mess up my coil spacing, etc. PITA. Anyone know of a similar concept/device for the the KF? Or if the cap for the Olympus would fit a KF? And of so where to get it?

First ten minutes is like a dream, but then I vape a burn taste... do you have an idea?

Is it about the type of liquid,

Is it about vacuum?

What is the problem?

When I loose the top cap to change the balance of pressure, it becomes again ok, but again after 10 or 20 minutes I feel the burn taste.

When I vape I see a bubble come up in the tank... what does this mean.

In Kayfun there is a very small gap between negative and positive. But if you want you can check pipe filters. Some pipe filters has ceramic top and bottom caps, you may reshape them with a knife and use them in Kayfun; I will try.

(Usually their heights is enough, you cant see the height in this picture. I think their height is 0.5 cm)

Most likely that's your build. Make sure your wick doesn't restrict the channels.

anyone got a cotton ball wick going on? pictures? Thanks.

Not using a cottonball, but under that way of thinking Iam using a hybrid wick called "Twick" that I bought on Ebay.

IT is 3mm eckowool that has an Organic Cotton Wick inserted in the otherwise hollow Eckowool.

The idea is that the Eckowool outside keeps the superb wicking cotton yarn from burning.

I have only made one wick so far and have been using it for at least a week and it works really well.

Here is a Link to get it if you are interested.:

Twik Ekowool and Twisted Organic Cotton Yarn Hybrid Wick for Atomizer Build | eBay

More info:1 unit = 2 feet of Genuine Ekowool with natural Organic undyed cotton yarn core.
For four feet, please purchase 2 units, for six purchase 3 units, etc.

FREE SHIPPING via USPS First Class package.
For delivery confirmation certified letter, choose standard shipping for $2.50

This is not hollow, and the cotton core allows the Ekowool to wick like a dream.
Ekowool resists temperatures to 2000+ F.
Perfect for use in RDA's, Ithaka's, Penelope's and many other atomizers.
Approx. 3mm outside diameter dry. Swells to 4+mm with liquid.

For ULTIMATE durability, see my Silica Core SCN-1.5 Ekowool here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=221255790938

Tips for use:
Boiling in water before using is recommended.

To clean, simply rinse off and leave wet.
Quick torch coil area of wick.
Squeeze uncoiled area with paper towel to remove water.
Ekowool protects wet cotton from burning of quick torching.
Softer and more compressible than silica strand core for placing in channels like Ithaka and Penelope style atomizers.
Superior wicking to both hollow, and silica strand core Ekowool.
Natural undyed organic cotton core for superior flavor and capillary action.

Could anybody put some setup pictures with mesh,
or is there anybody using the additional holes in the base unit for alternative wicking.

It is very hard to find this kind of things in a 200 pages thread :-(

I don't think anyone's posted anything about mesh, but there's at least one picture of it on Google image search and there's probably a YouTube video or two. Never seen anything about the alternative mounting points, very curious.

Mehh, too much effort. Plus I've got more ekowool that I know what to do with so I can't really bring myself to buy anymore. I did get the cotton working though, and it's quite awesome.

kayfun center post screw.jpg

Hey Guys,

I'm not sure how it's called...
I just lost my center post screw and insulator on my Kayfun III. I attached a picture of my Lite for reference. It's the screw in the center that makes contact with the mod.

Is there a way to get a replacement? Looks like the insulator is available for purchase, but I can't find the screw anywhere. :( :( :( :( :(

Or maybe the size of the screw, in hopes that a hardware store has them... maybe a brass screw???

So sad... stupid me.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

As far as I know, Home Depot is the last place I would go for "metric" screws.

Wonder if a brass screw would make a difference?

The screw seems fairly easy to source but I was hoping someone knows the specs on the screw as I don't want to mess up the threads.

Ah man... ...... at myself! I'm down to one tank, and it sucks!

Hit up cloud 9 for replacements. Insulators are sold in stores, but I haven't seen a center screw anywhere. Send them an email and I'm sure they'll be able to do something for you.
