Mine finally showed up, unopened, and in perfect condition. I have to say, it was worth the wait. I installed the S-kit, a single hybrid coil, and had it fired up in less than 30 minutes. (I expected all that to take a little longer) It's a tremendously complicated design, yet so intuitive that it seems simple...I already want another one!

Its a sad day for me...

I just received a email (newsletter) from the first BM I ever stepped foot in. (my store-Until Today)

They wanted to inform me of the New V4 kayfun Clone by ... , That they had in stock.

I am so disgusted with this clone business, that I will never step foot into their store again.

Where does it all end?

Troubled, Jim

Why? Are they forcing you to buy one? Live and let live is my motto. Not everybody can afford the real deal and not everyone is prepared to drop serious money on an atty even if they can afford it. Personally I prefer authentic but I'm not going to be mad if the guy next to me buys a clone. I did it myself at least once.

Congrats. It seemed complicated at first to me, but I think you will find within a couple of rebuilds it actually is pretty simple and easy. The design makes for a very easy rewick and refill process once you get used to how it works.

Interested in what you think and what others you use on a daily basis.

I get what you are saying, but live and let live is also accepting another's opinion. Certainly not trying to beat a dead horse and get into clone discussions, I've purchased one, but Astro has a right to express himself. I agree with you, not everyone can afford an authentic, but many see clones as a form of stealing. We could all discuss this ad nasuem, and the debate would just go in circles. I guess my point is, Astros view and others have validity and shouldn't be discounted.

Why do clones invoke such angst? I personally have never bought a clone because I don't trust the quality of the materials used but I would never begrudge someone that did buy one. Pretty much any clone or knockoff I have ever seen were quite inferior in quality and fit and finish. In my opinion when you buy a clone/knockoff you kind of get what you pay for. But I digress and back to my original question: Why all the angst over clones? I'm just curious and not discounting anyone but seriously asking for clarification. Thanks all!:)

Have no idea, earlier in this very thread I told about my experience at a B&M with my authentic. I was looked at like a fool for buying it and not waiting for the clone(s). It's not worth me trying to analyze though.

^True. In nearly a year that I'm using CCR I've just about consumed one feet of it ;)

A friend sent me 10' of it and I think I'll be set for at least the next couple of years. I get 3 or 4 wicks from every 1.5" of coiled wick.

Sent with no malice and not a whole lot of forethought from my new Galaxy Tab 4. Thanks Santa!

I would very much like an original V4 but, (prepare slings and arrows now) I honestly can't afford one so I will order a clone just to try it out and see what the noise is all about. I really would like an original but I'm not embarrassed ordering a clone. There are two ways to recoup your time and investment in this business. 1. Charge a premium price for a really fine device and quickly sell a quantity, recouping your investment over a year or so, or 2. Sell the same device for a really reasonable amount even if you have to scrimp a little on materials and recoup your investment in a couple of weeks. By choosing option 1 you accept that it's going to be cloned but that the true aficionados will want the original.

We all have different opinions. Mine is like this. I believe cloning hurts innovation. Imagine you built an iPhone app from scratch. Your idea, your hard hours of work. Your marketing dollars, your effort and time and you sell it for $1.99. Now you take the money you've made off that app and live off it while designing and financing your next app.

Meanwhile, While your out doing all of that hard work, someone comes out with the same concept, same design, changed the name to something similar, marks it down to $.99 and enjoys the fruits of all your hard work, innovation, and work you did. Now let's say 30 other people do the same thing with your app but make much worse versions of it which assists in hurting YOUR reputation while making unlicensed crappy versions of what you created. Where does that leave the innovator?

So we could talk about dollar amounts and say $200 is a lot more than $1.99, but it's still stealing. Whether it be Nike, NFL Jerseys, apps, attys, and RBA's. Someone thought of it first, and because someone is buying a fake, someone else gets hurt because of it.

That's just my 2 cents for what it's worth.

Ok, I am well and truly flummoxed. My K4 won't wick anything unless I crack the seal at the drip tip tube-to-top cap connection. And even then I only get a bubble or two, and barely any vapor.
Juice valve is wide open. It's been re-wicked twice. Taken apart three times...

I am at a loss and willing to risk embarrassment to figure this out.

Wattage? Wire? VG Ratio?

I use my Kayfun V4 from two weeks now. Works well, good flavor, TH, vapor production.
But in the meantime I discovered two things that I do not like at all.
First, when i open the base, always find lichid there. Not much, but is there and require cleaning. When i wash the base, too many small parts, always drop some… And the base spring, was originally silver colour, now is black at one end, as would be oxidized. I do not like things lists before, becoming clear disadvantages compared with the simplicity of KL+…
Secound, and this is the biggest problem, it will not work with DNA40 in temperature mod. I use my DNA 30 box mod home made and mechanicals mod, but a friend of my has Kayfun V4 and Vapor Flask DNA 40. He made a coil with Nickel200, everything was done perfectly and put Kayfun V4 on Vapor Flask in temperature mod. Then, when he press the fire button, the watts jump like crazy, almost always up to the value of 40 W. He contact Vapor Flask support, he think it was his fault, but but the answer that he received is that the fault is the Kayfun V4, his spring in the base is the issue. The exact answer was: “The Kayfun 4 will act weired with nickel and read incorrectly due to a spring in the base”.
My friend tried the same thing with Kayfun Lite Plus and everything worked perfectly in temperature mod.
I think these things are good to know before buying a Kayfun V4, especially as it is not cheap.
Or maybe I had higher expectations at 150 euro atty.
But I'm still curious if anyone has make it work with Nickel200 and a DNA 40 mos in temperature mod.
