I'd guess that they sold them all and had to make more. Right now it does say 8 weeks lead time.
But yes, Protovapor would be the place to have gone. At least it will be a "fresh" one.
Edit: If it were me I'd cancel the one from Evolv and order from Protovapor, 10% off plus free shipping I'd guess as eell.

Once you unsolder the old board you might consider practicing soldering other wires to it if you feel that you need some practice.

And maybe (as I don't own an SXK with USB) you might need to keep or use that same data/charging board. The official one looks different. Maybe @BillW50 has more details or POTV ;)

The usb board has pos and neg to battery and pos and neg data wires, very thin data wires...should i up the gauge of the data wires?

No you shouldn't have to. The only thing about the data lines is worrying about crosstalk. But I won't worry about it unless you can't communicate through the USB port. Then reposition the wires around until it works fine. If you have problems, which I don't think you will, just ask us. :D

I agree with BillW50. In that datasheet there is a table showing recommended wire sizes for all connections (Min, Max, recommended) after the board pin-outs.
