Yeah, YiHi has been great about this...and how awesome was GingerVaper too? So painless dealing with them, it twas such a relief that I ordered through GV. My replacement shipped out late last night, so hopefully we will both have ours by the upcoming weekend ;)

Mine is shipping out tonight, so I'll be happily reunited with my SXM on Friday I hope. GV service is great, every chat with them is 15 minutes or longer, because they really know their products and they are happy to answer questions. Btw, I've been quite impressed with their e-juices, particularly Funky Monkey and Cereal Smack. I ordered the larger sampler pack to try out some more.

GingerVaper is great.. I was actually talking to the guy about purchasing one of the devices and he actually STOPPED me from buying the black and explained to me what was going on back when Yihi 1st halted shipping on them. How many times have you heard of someone at a company stop you from a $200+ purchase??? He actually told me "We try to do as best as we can even if it means losing a sale, We'd rather be honest and have your trust long term then to make a single sale and not have you happy."

I have had several conversations with them, and hands down, one of the best group of guys to deal with..

Was this recently regarding the newly in stock black2? I want to order this but am still unsure if the paint issue has been fixed.

No.. This was back when the 1st batch were released and were starting to have issues.. From what I've heard the issue has been rectified

Thanks a lot for your interesting and helpful info!

I have similar problems or more worse regarding the paint and peel off with mine and Yihi advised me immediately !! to contact my supplier and give him the invoice number they sent me. I am unhappy with the wear problem after 3 weeks of use , but am I surprised that Yihi responded immediately willing to solve my problem. I do not know why that SERIOUS wear- peel off serious problem happened to their devices..in a few weeks of use...

Q.Would the new replacements be reliable? We have to live with the problem of ours ..till replacements arrive and be tested. It was like to sell us a mod for display only and not for use...
We will see how the new replacements will look like after a few weeks.I hope they will be reliable and durable for everyday use.
I do not think paint of any sort is or should be acceptable on an item that must be handled constantly to be useful. The only finish other than brushed metal that I have confidence in is anodizing for aluminum, bare metal for stainless steel etc. There may be epoxy resin coatings that have the durability required but I have no experience with them. It's unfortunate that Yihi chose zinc die castings for the SX Mini M class because zinc is a very unattractive metal in its natural state. I understand that it is possible to achieve better dimensional precision with zinc die castings compared to aluminum but I personally would be happier with a slightly less precise aluminum frame that was anodized compared to what we have with the M class now.

I would also prefer the lighter weight of an aluminum frame device...but overall I still think the SX Mini M class is a winner. My option is to wrap it with something like J Wraps or put on a silicone case.

Btw Does anyone recommend a specific silicone case source?

I've heard that they have been very good with replacing ones with defective paint. I've also heard that the new "paint" is a cerakote or something similar. I do know that I've had mine for over a month now, and not a single scratch, so whatever they are doing now is very durable.

If it's cerakote, that's pretty much as good as you're going to get. Cerakote is a ceramic-based paint that's commonly used for gun coating.

Wow...Ceracote would definitely be a big step forward. I hope that's what they are using.

I use with red LG H2. a moment ago change the battery. in ECO mode (013.ohm 20J) the battery make 22282J work :) i think its good :)

Oh good I have to married pairs of those I use in my flask and one married pair of VTC4's. I bought four new Samsung 25R's and they don't seem to last very long. I saw the ECO pop up when I did the upgrade but wasn't even sure what it was for. I just got these on Monday so I'm new to everything about them. Thanks so much for the quick response.

Remember that it is not like the Vapor Flask with two batteries in parallel the IPV4 is in series so you won't get any more mAh out of the two batteries than you would out of one battery. (I know this is going to start an argument but none the less it is true) Pleases before the arguing the point Google it - Please!

No need to "debate". That really is only the case when one posts an opinion without proper facts. But this is an interesting topic. One that admittingly, I am on the "fence" about and just not sure.

While yes....according to "science" running dual batteries in parallel will double the mAh while keeping the Voltage the same, and in series will double the Voltage while keeping the mAh the same. This is the confusing part... I am under the impression that this ONLY applies to an unregulated mod. When you run in series with a regulated chip like the sxmini or IPV4 all bets are off. You will also achieve the extra battery life in series.

I know you say "google it", but I have yet to find one link with a proper analysis using a mod. And just searching the ECF threads for the IPV4 as well as the sxmini itself will show MANY users who purchased the sxtube -- not for the extra wattage/voltage but to extend the run time -- which they all report that it does (when vaping at the same wattage/Temperature). So... since we all know the sxtube is run in series, how do you explain the added mAh other then the chip is not pulling the full voltage of the batteries and in essence doubling the mAh.

Yihi only made the change about 2 weeks ago, so if yours was purchased more than a week or two ago you would still have the old style. The bad finish doesn't effect all the older units, so chances are if yours is showing no wear you're good. Ive got mine since the beginning of April and not a single scratch.

Well I hear the YiHi sleeves should be out any day. I think I would prefer that because the buttons are not covered. How is it working out with GV sleeves and the + - buttons

I love mine. Its a perfect fit and prefer that the buttons are covered -- why protect only part of the device? But, of course everyones opinion/likes are different.

The Samsungs are very good batteries. But, IMO they are better suited for a mech mod where they will pulse much higher then the LG. Their negativity is that the makeup of INR batteries is such that they will lose their ratings (Amperage and mAh) much faster the those of int IMR's (LG and such) when charged over time. There is a post just a page back or two re: the LG HE2 vs. HE4. I would recommend the HE4 over the HE2. That or even better the VTC5. Just make sure you get those from a reputable source though as there are many counterfeits on the market. And despite the "rumors" and "myths", Sony DOES still make the VTC4's and VTC5's.

To do the same work with a higher voltage you draw less amps
So doubling the voltage should in theory half the amps & in turn double the mAh

I agree with this, but it contradicts @HolmanGT post. My theory is that with a "chip" you are pulling less amps as you say & extending the mAh, but with an unregulated mod you still pull the "full" amparage therefore not extending the mAh.

I'm using Panasonic 3400s in mine and they last at least all day where the Samsungs usually are empty before the end of the day.
Mind you, 18-21 joules is where I'm happiest.

Yeah, InTaste recently added stock of more VTC5s, and while they are in Germany, they are at least a reputable vendor if people really want to get some. I would be leery of ordering VTC5s anywhere besides a well known shop, the slight bump in shipping is worth the piece of mind, lol
