System Preference options...priceless, thanks for the feedback fellas.

If you personally had the ability to add or change a system preference I'm curious what everyone here would suggest ?

Regarding alternative temp sensitive wire materials: switching between Ni & Ti is not enough!

I'd like to be able to directly set the temperature coefficient (i.e. the steepness of resistance increase at growing temperatures) as it is possible with the new TC mods from Dicodes (Dani Extreme v2 & Pipeline Pro 2). Besides nickel and titanium, Dicodes recommends using TC with NiFe30 (Resistherm), tungsten and even stainless steal.

Also, a problem with titanium is that temperature coefficients may vary in a range of 10-20% for different Ti-wires, which is definitely relevant. (Not sure, but things may be similar with nickel).

In a perfect world, sellers would state temperature coefficients for their wires, just as they specify resistivity today. Whatever wires the future may bring... That way, the number we're setting as our temperature limit could be what it's intended to be: a temperature value.

There are 500 shades of titanium. Stick to grade 1 and you don't have variations in TCR.

First of all, I'd question that...

Anyway, the main point of my previous post was NOT being limited to one or two particular wire materials.
You can question whatever you want but there are strict tolerances in every grade of titanium. Grade x assumes a certain part of titanium, a certain part of oxygen and a certain amount of other materials. If any of those components represents a greater or lesser part than specified, it's not grade x but grade y.

Titanium grade 1 isn't a generic material just like 317S steel isn't a generic steel.

Yeah, there is a reason why Grade 1 Titanium is always recommended, I wouldn't use anything else and I would order it from a reputable vendor

Quick update. Got the silicone sleeve from Ginger Vaper. Fits perfectly, has the SX Mini logo etched into it, not sure how much better an 'official' sleeve can be. Yes, it covers the fire and up/down buttons, but does not impede the pressing of said buttons at all. It's prefect pretty much.

no info in thsi post except to say how much I love this device. i have been messing around with a lot of TC mods of late but I still come back to this one. I still havent even done the firmware upgrade yet...

Agreed. However, I hope they are working on a dual 18650 version. At 50J, I am swapping batteries way too often. It's really the only negative about this device. I love everything else.

Thanks, tchavei. As you said, there are tolerances. The chemical requirements specify maximum amounts for N, C, H, Fe, O and other residuals. But again, I didn't want to start a discussion on how much these tolerances will effect resistivity changes.

What I suggest is the ability to specify the temperature coefficient (rather than having a Ni vs. Ti switch) to correctly adapt the temperature scale with any kind of TC wire. The new Dicodes mods let me do this and I think it's an easy to implement and useful feature.

Yeah maybe, but I get pretty decent longevity with mine and a dual would weigh a lot and be much bulkier. Its fine as it is for me!!

Isn't it great how much choice we have in one mod. With WA going to vote on this tax tomorrow I am thinking of getting 2 more. I am so satisfied with the vape I get from them and how easy it is to build for with the Kanger STM. I would like to try titanium to see why it is considered by many better than nickel. I rebuilt 4 of my Kangers this afternoon and I can't imagine it being much easier but if it has a better taste I might like that. It would be nice if they came out with an upgrade to make it easier to use without having to buy a new one. How safe is nickel. I clean mine with alcohol before wrapping. I haven't noticed anything except my lungs hurt sometimes from over vaping with some of my favorite flavors but I have COPD I can imagine how they would feel if I was still smoking. I am only using 2mg of nic but the flavors I use are so strong 2% is almost too much at times but they are so good.

Do you think there is any harm in vaping at lower temps. I like mine during the day at 390 12J morning and evening I go down to 375 to 380 and 10 or 11J. I use a strong type of flavor and it makes my lungs hurt if I vape too high of strength or too high a temp. It is strong enough to get a good taste and still plenty of vapor from my Kanger STM's at that temp. Just wondering if there is any harm in that. I have COPD and emphazima from smoking and it makes it more comfortable for me to do that. I only use 2mg of nic also.

Absolutely now harm to you or your gear. Your gear and you will probably last longer along with your juice.
