They seem to always be one step ahead.
And the juices they threw in were some of the best i've tried.

Yeah, that Pear/Ice Cream thing they have going on with the Boomerang sample i got is pretty unique and awesome. Shame i'm more of a 50/50 type guy (pretty sure it's full VG) that likes a little throat hit to my juices. I'll definitely be looking to get a little creative on my DIY with that.

So random noob'ish question on my SX mini. Is it normal i'm (seemingly) getting a different and higher resistance check based on the temp of the room where i do it? Like in my Florida air conditioned bedroom at home (75 degrees) i can make a coil that should and does ohm out to .13. That same coil will always ohm out higher (like .22 or so) either outside or in the back kitchen where i work.

If you are really worried about your SX Mini finish, the silicone case for the IVP mini may fit with a little work. I'm going to order another one and with a sharp scissors and a little trimming ( the bottom so it will sit flat and making the window area a little bigger) I think it might just work, until an official skin comes out.

The photos below are a test fit and it is not bad.

I guess all of our experiences will be a little different because we all make our coils a little different, use different wicking materials, and use different juices.

I've done experimenting with my builds to try to get them to fire higher... For example, the build I am running right now on my Subtank Mini RBA, running the 70PG/30VG juice that's in there, plateaus at around 365F, according to the temp readout on the mod while firing. Even if I set the temp to 500F, it won't go past 365.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Could be... It vapes great...

Tonight I am also using my Subtank Mini RBA but running with 100% VG. This build was with a 3.0 mm rod and probably 10 spaced wraps. The resistance is showing higher than any of my previous builds at .13 and my temp never goes above 390 deg. I am running at 14G in powerful or powerful+ mode. Our readings make sense since you have more PG in the juice which vaporizes at a lower temp than my 100% juice. I am needing about 25 deg more to max out. I was also at first running it around 520 but then noticed after reading your post that it was never even getting close to that. I just had it set there because I was figuring with 100% VG I would need to be there but I was wrong.

From now on I think I will just set high at first and then watch to see with the limiting is doing and then set it just a hair below that. That is my thought at least for now. Since this is my first TC mod I am learning the ropes just as many of us are here. Even those with the Evolv chips seem to be having a different experience with this Yihi chip.

how are you guys doing on battery life? i've used a flask for a while (dual 18650) so i'm wondering if im gonna have to swap out the battery at some point during the day. i'm a chain vaper. that being said, I've been using my rDNA 40 and it lasts until the late evening

I would say you will definitely be changing out a battery midway and even finishing off the second one in my experience if you are chain vaping.

That's exactly what I do... I set it at a high temp (Like 500), then find a Joules level I am comfortable with, watch where it plateaus, and then set the temp limiting to 20 degrees higher. I set it higher cause I don't want it to hit the temp limiter, especially if I like it at the temp it plateaus at. I figure an extra 20 degrees will allow the temp limiter to stop it from firing long before I get any kind of burnt taste.

Using 70PG/30VG juice my ST Mini with Vapor Shark Ni200 coils reaches the 270° temperature limit I have set nearly instantly at 13 Joules. However, it's a noticeably warmer vape than my DNA 40 set at 13 watts/400° after refinement.

Nail on the head. POW!!

A little confusion nourishes the 'soul'. :)

I think it is good info to know where your ejuice hits the saturation point. From there make an adjustment for taste. I just don't know just yet if it is better to go a bit above or below. Need to play around while I watch some TV with the wife and find that sweet spot. It is a learning experience and I know I have allot to learn with this mod. A far cry from the days of my eGo stuff. And I thought my eVic Supreme was kick .... lol :)

I'm just gonna jump in with a comment - I've read a little of the thread but not recently. So sry if I'm not following the convo.

Anyway - I just got my m class 2 days ago (in love) I was gonna order the regular sx mini when I saw the 1st review on youtube but then saw the m class was "coming" so I waited. I've been using it with my Derringer in regular mode. Yesterday I got in some Nickel wire and Temp control subtank coils.

I've been vaping 2yrs and I'm pretty smart (if you ask me) but wth is up with the user manual that tells u nothing? I'm afraid to screw something up. Where's the best place to find I guess the basic info on the menu and how to use temp? Well I guess how to switch to temp is in the "manual" but everything else.

MonicaRae I think you found the place right here. The manual gives you some of the basics but we all here are all learning it together.

Some pointers... Be sure all your connections are tight. This is very important with TC. Use a good safe battery that can deliver. Be sure to calibrate your resistance by pressing the 2 buttons but only after your tank and mod have reached a stable room temperature like 15 mins or so. Changing tanks will mean you must repeat the calibration. It is a manual process and not an automatic one. You can start with 20J and maybe 380 temp. It all depends on your juice PG/VG ratio. More VG means more temp. As far as soft, standard, powerful, or powerful+, that is more of a personal liking for the ramp up time. You will find there are 5 memory settings in Wattage mode and 5 more in Joules mode. You can use them to save your Joules and Wattage settings only.

Here is a good video to learn the ropes of this device: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-AbRhHBDXmc

And enjoy one of the best devices out there at this point in time!

Haven't put this thing down since I got it Fri! This temperature control is amazing stuff! No dry hits even when the wick is completely dry, pretty impressive. I love using my Lemo's on it, I can take extremely long pulls on them and never get even the slightest hint of dry cotton. My Odin that I received yesterday from Lokilabs is my new go to dripper, looks & works amazing on this device!

Have you used the new Lemo 2 on it? I am thinking of getting one but haven't made up my mind and they are not too available just yet. Yeah, I am loving the device too!

No, I don't have the lemo 2. I'm sure that I'll get one at some point though since my 4 original one's perform so well.

Hi Ti-freaks. Bad news Im afraid the SX does not deal properly with dry coil conditions using titanium and will burn your wick. There was some suggestion that my previosu experiment with 24g might have reflected an issue with coil mass and insufficient cooling time between firing cycles that the SX seems to do. I regret to have to inform everyone that I get exactly the same result with a 5/4 wrap of 28g on a 2.5mm mandrel using Gr1 Ti wire. Steam engine predicted 0.28 ohm and that is exactly what the SX read so I havent screwed up. I put it up on the RBA deck of my ST mini as before. Coils were well spaced. On my chiNA40 VF, the same setup gave only a very very small amount of discolouration of the coil with a 10 sec burst. Both experiments at 320F and 20J/20W respectively...

Interesting..

I think with a damp wick it is basically fine but with real hard abuse, a burn/dry hit is certainly possible with Ti on the SX, at least at present....:(

I'm in the UK and curious about TI wire what's the best sized guage to give it ago and where it to buy it? Europe as a preference looks like Stealthvape sold it but due to various concerns they have withdrawn it from sale.

Any links and info would be good I read the tempreture is all out and you are required to set it to approx 40C / 100F lower.

If I am not mistaken YiHi has not mentioned anything on TI with the 350J so why is there an expectation it will work without issues?

No TC mod currently marketed is designed to operate with TI (in TC mode). Some are using TI and adjusting accordingly to get a good vape. You can't expect the same results using TI that you expect from nickel as you are using the mod in a way it was not designed. But those going outside the box with vaping can spark more innovation, I think, as that is how VV,VW, and TC came about.... :2c:

I highlight your thread for those who want to read it..... http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...titanium-wire-vaping-safety.html#post15566666

Buzzing response:

Ticket status: New

Department: Sales

Subject: Mini M sx350

we have and are awaiting a response. We do not think its an issue though as it seems its potentially the rapid resistance checking and correcting because its only in temp mode. If that is the case I would think they could tweak the software and improve it via a flash upgrade. Thats the true benefit of the YiHi products.

All that being said we are awaiting an official response from YiHi.

Perry

I am going on 1 week with my SX Mini and the Lemo, Lemo Drop, and Lemo 2 are the only tanks I have been using with great results.
