That's unfair.Well, from what I gather listening to Evolv in the past, they're big on deciding what's best for us. John at Evolv has what appears to be a stereotypical young engineer ego (which progresses to the crippling old engineer ego if not treated). Sometimes they cave on that "knows best" stance, after repeated pummelings by reviewers, or when the competition treats the consumer like somebody who has a brain and offers the feature.
Reverse battery protection: "That's the responsibility of the mod builder"
Buck/Step Down: "What? Oh..."
Logical, linear battery meter "What?"
Programmers do the same thing and I've been taught the same thing. My teacher used to say: always assume the operator is dumb and will screw up at every chance he gets, it's your job to assure he can't.
Kudos to YIHI for giving the operator some slack to adjust some settings.
However, we all know that sooner or later, somebody will misuse that freedom and blame YIHI for the outcome.
How long will it take for someone forget to manually set the base resistance and then complain about burning wicks?
It's deemed to happen. Mark my words
