Decided not to wait... Just ordered the Grey/Silver from Eciggity...

They are here in Hawaii, so it should be here awfully quick. Last time I ordered something from them it was waiting on my doorstep the very next day. I paid the sales taxes for that speed... Heh

Pretty excited to get it in my hands and try it out.

I know the manual states that they recommend ni200 but has anyone tried Titanium GR1 pure with theirs yet?
I'm almost 99% sure someone mentioned using titanium with his sx mini... Just wait a bit. Someone should chime in soon. :)

Tony

I'm a long time DNA40 user. I will not get in to the intricacies of the DNA40 device(s) in this write-up. I will say that the DNA40 has served me very well; I've been using them since release back in October/November of 2014 on two different devices: The Protovapor XPV40, and the VaporFlask. I've been one of the lucky ones, in that I have never had to RMA a device and all three have well (as well as Evolv says they should) for me. No garbled screens, no odd "jumping" in resistance (as long as the connection is sound), no RTA for Ni200/temperature control. I have three of them, and the build I use is identical in all three: 8 wraps, 30AWG Ni200, tension wrapped around a M4 left-hand-thread machine screw on a jig. Details on my build are here:

Thanks MidwestGuy. I have been looking forward to your follow up from the other thread. So, I am STALKING you. :)

I placed my order several pages back in this thread. My shipping will not be as quick as others because I wanted the black and silver that was "sold out" at the first three sites I visited.

Your early-adopter review is important to me because, like you, I have DNA 40 experience since its release. (One rDNA 40 from the beginning, a recently upgraded 30 to 40 VS, and a VF 2.1...and, waiting for the VF Squonk. ;))

Like you I truly appreciate TC, now being throughly familiar, having no complaint. I trust my experience with the SX 350 will be similar to yours. I have no intention to get into arguments with the purist fanboys. (That is already in full bloom. :))

Glad to help!

Just a quick followup... I'm still loving this thing. A few more great things I've noticed:

  1. The vape quality is incredibly consistent.
  2. It definitely works differently... I've never hit temp control with this device, even running/experimenting with different builds with different wicking efficiencies. Even with all different builds, it seems to adapt incredibly fast (some sort of advanced algorithm?) to whatever it is and again, delivers a perfectly consistent and flavorful vape every time, no matter what.
  3. Not even a hint of a clue of a dry / burnt or even off flavor hit on any build I've done so far, regardless of power settings, though I've only had it up to ~35 Joules at this point.
  4. The 510 connector is just as good or better than my VaporFlask, and the VaporFlask is pretty impressive. It is spring loaded, but it's a very stiff spring relative to all my other devices with spring loaded 510s. I believe this is helping to create very solid connections, especially on newer tanks with "floating" positive pins that are held in place with a simple grommet and not mounted/screwed down to anything (i.e. Kanger subtanks, Delta II, and my new Lemo 2s).
  5. It's a freakin' brick and could be used as a personal protection device. I like the weight; it feels great and incredibly solid/well build.

At this point, I have no problem labeling this as the best regulated mod I own / have ever owned.

I hope all of you that are waiting for yours get them soon! You will LOVE it. :D

Thanks for the update. Looking forward to mine arriving, maybe tomorrow but certainly by Thursday. For years I've been rocking my ProVari and have stood behind it as one of the most reliable and well built mods out there. Unfortunately, I think the market is rapidly outgrowing the space that ProVape occupies, with the Sub Tank craze. I think as great a device as the P3 is, it just can't run the new atomizers the way they were meant to be used. I want to try some of these new atomizers, so I have to venture out of my comfort zone. I thought the DNA devices would be the way to go, but even 40 watts seemed a bit low to really reach the full potential. Feedback like yours have convinced me to really step out of my comfort area and not only go with a company not named ProVape, but go with a Chinese device. I never would have made that step a year ago... This SX Mini seems to cover everything I was looking for in a replacement for my aging ProVari collection, and I sure hope they live up to the high praises offered by everyone who has used one. I'm looking forward to comparing the build quality to something like my ProVari's and more importantly experiencing a nice vape from all the new things on the market.

It's a new world for me. Hah, I still have a nervous twitch buying a Chinese mod. We'll see if it sweeps me off my feet

Sounds like a winner although at first I was troubled with associating the Joules adjustments.

I think I have a grasp now.

The Joules are per second increments which had the grey side of the brain thinking how do they know how long each drag I'll be taking is? LOL!

The other little tiny part of my brain said "no think hertz you big lummox!" and my head is at ease again, okay as mellow as it gets anyway. :2cool:

hi dam, I live on Kauai and ordered quite a while ago... ha. won't that be hoot if you get yours first.
I haven't gotten shipping notice but something about the colors... I don't even remember what color I ordered, and frankly, not in too big of a hurry.
I kind of want to wait and see what everyone thinks before I even open the box.
I'm liking my 3 dna40 units (all 3 RMA'ed but working great!)
Hell I have still never even opened my Clouper T8 back when the DNA40's got here - first run.

Kind of intimidated by "joules" and I like to just sort of "point and shoot".
I have a good feeling about it but I'm not hurtin...

Just started using Titanium .5mm wire and its a game changer for me too. so far...

I ordered mine from Eciggity which is here in Honolulu, so of course mine will get here first! LoL, yours has to get on a plane, mine could have been delivered on foot in less than a day :)
