OK - guys, I don't follow either post. It is early and I have only had one cup of coffee. Would you mind explaining what you are talking about.

Yesterday folks were getting enthusiastic about what type of signal the SXmini M was using, PWM, DC-DC ect.. and apparently there were some problems with other threads that were getting into some of the technical aspects that had to be closed. So it was suggested those discussions be taken elsewhere. So I was just goofing and saying that.

The SXmini m is Probably Worth More than $200 "PWM"

Vlad,

I am really having a bad day I had to stare at your reply for a couple of minutes before it dawned on me. I guess I am going to have to return my "Mensa" member card.

Just to clarify... Since the M Class has been released, there are folks coming to this thread looking for instructional information / discussion. Most do not want to wade through blocks of postings regarding technical info which does not interest the typical end-user of this device. They simply want to know how to make it work.. :)

I'm officially assigned to both the APV and RBA forums / sub-forums. My job is difficult enough without needing to watch a few select threads like a hawk..;)

For what it's worth, I've heard my provari humming too but I can't replicate it. We all know that's not PWM. It may also be because of the bees in my head??

Or is that technical term buzzing?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It is very possible that the hum (noise) that people are hearing it just the DC to DC converter's transformer buzzing. if any of the turns on the toroid are a smidge lose or the entire assembly is not snug down on the circuit board they will tend to vibrate (usually at a sub-harmonic of the converter frequency). :2c:

PS - at over sixty my ears have a tough time hearing a Cuisinart Food Processors.

I'm not saying it cannot be discussed.. Just clarifying .. The thread title alone is bringing many folks looking for help over this way. Just Google SXmini M Class to see what I mean.. :) As I suggested earlier, perhaps someone could open another thread to discuss the more in-depth technical aspects of the SX350J.. Hopefully it could be discussed in a manner which will not allow it to be closed down like the other..

Got to love all these companies coming out with nickel coils....wonder what is taking so long on the Atlantis ones....or did I miss something....?

Vaporshark just announced Atlantis nickel coils:

Vapor Shark has collaborated with Aspire to bring the groundbreaking temperature limiting technology of the Vapor Shark rDNA 40 to the massively popular Atlantis tank. These replacement atomizer heads for the Atlantis tank feature coils wrapped from pure Nickel (NI-200) wire at 0.15 ohms, allowing you to monitor and limit the temperature your coils are reaching. Because these coils are only for use on devices capable of temperature sensing and limiting technology, we have changed the color of the silicone ring on the atomizer heads from clear to Vapor Shark blue for increased safety and ease of identification.

$21.25 for a 5-pack
